I believe this was our third summer with Maust providing us with weekly (sometimes less often) lawn mowing and then leaf removal sporadically during the fall. We had issues with the staff banging lawnmowers up and down our steps, so much so that they actually took chunks our brand new cement stairs and our older stone stairs in the back yard. I told Shawn this multiple times, and I think by the fourth time they finally got better about this, but not before damage had been done multiple times. The work was okay--definitely not super detailed lawn work, but it did the trick. The leaf removal was questionable; I was charged once for three leaf removal services but I am almost positive that only two at MOST happened. (I am home every day with a dog who barks his head off when people are on our property; I know every single time they are here!) They took a long time to show up this year in the spring/summer and our grass had severely overgrown, but they did come consistently after that until the end of June. It has now been 6+ weeks since they showed up. I have e-mailed and called multiple times and have not heard back. We were not told that Maust was done providing us with service and we are not behind on any bills. They just...stopped showing up.

The lawn aeration and overseeding was done in one morning and everything was as advertised. The price of the service was extremely reasonable.

I could not get Mr. Maust to commit to a service date. He gave me reasons why he couldn't perform the service (one of his workmen broke the aerator, and he had to wait for the part; the part couldn't be delivered due to rain from recent hurricanes; after the part arrived and was installed, he would contact me to schedule, etc.). Seriously? He's in the lawn business and he has a single machine and no ready source for spare parts? His aeration business comes to a complete halt? He put me off long enough that I could not get a refund from Angie's list, and now I have to go through the rig-ama-roll with Angie's list to work out some alternative.

"I honestly do no have any memory of this taking place. If you would like to talk about the back being done, I would be more than happy to do so. Keep in mind at the time of your purchase it does say that the aeration is for a specific amount of sq feet and if you have a larger area you would like done you can ask and we will provide a price. I do not know what happened in regards to them not asking but after reviewing you property online your total sq footage of over 11,000 sq feet. Of course minus the house and drive and that leaves your remaining land. For future reference. Once again if you would like to discuss more I would be more than happy to do what I can. It went good. I did ask for a day when I was home because I had never used a landscaping company before. They came on a day when I was not home, but due to scheduling, the work was performed as agreed.

That guy was excellent! He gets an “A” rating, he did a fine job there. He knows his stuff too. What stood up to me the most was that he was on time, had the right equipment and he was quite familiar with the appropriate lawn seed for western Pennsylvania. The price was an “A” giving the amount of work aerating is. They were very responsive. He was there on time. I intend to use them again, I’m hoping the next time he puts the offer back out there again. It will probably be fall again. I had thought I had done it late spring, but I obviously waited until late fall, so I will probably be looking to do it in the fall.

Everything went very well through the bidding process and installation. We paid for the work at the mid-point and at the finish four days later. At that point we would have given a straight A score. Some of the plants, approximately seven did not survive. It took several reminders to have the firm owner return to examine them, and when he did he apologized and replace three of them right away. He was kind enough to provide a free lawn cut since he took a while to get back to us and we happily accepted it. The other four dying plants he cut back and asked if he could see if they came back in the Spring (of 2017) and replace them if they did not survive. Repeated promises via txt messages over six weeks where he promised to return and inspect the dead plants never materialized. We thought this would be an opportunity to schedule additional work. We finally gave up. It is a shame since we had hoped to maintain in ongoing relationship and stay with this firm going forward based upon the initial installation. The four dead plants and lack of response made us realize that there is no such interest or any intention of standing behind the initial work. Truly a disappointment given the many other fine qualities demonstrated.

"The information is somewhat correct. I can not analyze the plant until it's growing season. Not in March or the beginning of April. I did come by once but it was still early for the growth and wanted to give it a few.more weeks. It's been a very busy season to which I have not forgotten about the customer and his plants. I replaced plants last year and because of the length of time it took to replace them I had my guys not only cut the grass but do a leaf cleanup as well free of charge. I will be replacing the dead plants as soon as I can get those plants to replace, unfortunately as May goes I am being pulled in many directions and doing my best to honor this customer."

I could not reach him over the phone, since his mailbox was full. I wish he would have called me to schedule. I tried emailing him, and he said that he would probably get to us. He said "I will try to get someone out there tomorrow," which is today. We have not heard from him today. I understand this is a busy time of the year, but wish he would have just called me to talk about setting up a date/time. I contacted Angie's List to get a refund.

"you are correct My phones messages were full for one day of which I was not aware of until later in that day. I tried to return all calls that I could from Caller ID. I apologize for any inconvenience. My guy was on his way to your house the day he was scheduled and it started to rain. I was going to return the next day but by the time I went to call you, there was an email that you wanted to cancel the service. If you wanted to talk live I would have been more than happy to call you. I work from email quite often mainly because I do a lot of by work prior to the work day either late at night or early in the morning, while i am in the office and not out in the field working. If you requested to talk live I would have been more than happy to accommodate you. It is still only April and and there is plenty of time to still get yards aerated during the Spring season. I apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused. If you are still interested in the aeration I would be more than happy to call you and speak live to discuss."

Work was done while no body was at home, although it was requested to call before the work done so that some body could be at home. Aeration was done in part of the lawn and seeding was not done in most places. Particularly thin area or the areas that had almost no grass, there was no seeding.

I paid for lawn over-seeding in the fall (Sept.)and haven't yet received (it's after Christmas an too late now). I got in touch more than once and was patient with the delays and excuses (too a point). I hesitated after reading past review to even purchase but I thought I would give them a chance for such a straightforward project. I should have trusted my gut!. I'm hoping they will make an effort to rectify this situation (but I won't hold my breath) and I'll be contacting Angies' list itself to right the wrong if necessary.

It went well. I have an underground sprinkler system and asked for several days advance notification so that I could flag the sprinkler heads to prevent damage. I was given ample notice.
