TLDR: safe, thorough, educational. 10/10 would call again. - My in-unit residential heater has been rattling and the filter light has been going off since I moved in (2 years). I've taken it apart (as much as I could) to do superficial cleanings, but to be safe I asked my landlord if I could find a Rinnai-certified technician to complete a professional servicing. I found Mazgan on Google and chose them due to their 4.7 rating. My landlord's initial concerns with outsourcing from the super was that companies tend to tack on hidden fees/charges. Mazgan did not do this. In advance of our appointment, Mazgan assured me that they were only booking me for a professional servicing appointment (which included opening up the unit, completing a comprehensive cleaning, and diagnostic), and that any issues found would not be addressed in that appointment but rather a 2nd appointment would be recommended if necessary. Thankfully, nothing was wrong with the unit (besides the fact that it has literally never been cleaned 🙃). Zaki, the technician, was extremely thorough. He cleaned the unit for nearly 2 hours, was very quiet and gave me a heads up when something would be noisy (which enabled me to work-from-home in peace), showed me photos of how clogged the vents were with dust/grime, and provided a lengthly and clear explanation of how the machine works and the importance of cleaning/how accidents can happen if not. They showed up when they said, charged what they said, and completed what they said. First things I did once Zaki left were to save Mazgan's number, purchase a carbon monoxide detector, and leave this review.

Outstanding installation of a new boiler, to include all pipes and electrical components. System is operating like it should.

They received a 1 star because they arrived. When they arrived they checked problem determined the part needed told me 871.00 before they even got the part. they taxes me on the UBER. before he left he wanted deposit of 474.15 then they came back next day he fixed it. i asked him for the receipt for the part. he stated the part price is the same as the install. I asked for receipt for warrantee. next day i send email and he did not respond for a couple of days then he emailed me back stating he is waiting for company to find the receipts.. then he informed me you can tip the guy he sent out. 129.00 was the amount of the part. 260.00 out the door is what is should have been. they do not need to pray on people, if your going to be on Angi did you not think I would reach out. I feel scammed. if you thought I was like your mother like you said you should have known I would write a review to expose your shady ways. overpricing the elderly is unbecoming.

I have had gone through many large construction projects over the past 15 years at my residence. Hands down, this was the most professional, honest and insightful company I have ever dealt with. From the beginning they offered advice that saved me thousands of dollars and followed through on every single aspect of the installation. When the inevitable snags hit due of the large scope of the project they provided the perfect remedies. I would hire again in an instant. If anyone wants to talk details I would be more than happy to oblige.

This is my 5th using Mazgan HVAC services. A technician came out to diagnose my leak issue, in the end, no fixes came about. It’s $229/hour just to diagnose and they charged me $95 to insulate my unit that did not alleviate the issue at all. I spent over $600 just to diagnose, then they wanted me to pay an additional $840 for an HVAC pump and labor. Note that the $600 does NOT go towards actually fixing the issue. No explanation on why the pump itself is so expensive. Why not charge just for the pump and labor separately? I ended up with another company and they fixed all 3 of my pumps for $500. I called and emailed to ask for a refund, and have not received any responses. I will never use this company again.

My NYS Court case against Mazgan was successful but now unfortunately I am forced to seek assistance from the NYC Marshalls office for collection as they have failed to pay the judgment despite multiple requests. See judgment attached

Mazgan Air Conditioning ranks among the most unprofessional companies I've ever dealt with. When my furnace failed to turn on, they dispatched two technicians for inspection. I suspect they aren’t licensed, as they seemed somewhat clueless upon assessing the furnace. Despite claiming a $120 cost, they replaced the thermocouple, a part valued at $15. The service bill amounted to $370, an exorbitant fee considering that they didn't resolve the issue. Furthermore, my furnace had a significant water leakage issue that Mazgan Air Conditioning failed to detect. Paying $370 for an unresolved problem seems unjustifiable, especially when the water leakage prevents the furnace from functioning. It's advisable to steer clear of this company unless you're keen on shelling out 10 times the price for a thermocouple. In summary, I was charged $370 for a service that essentially achieved nothing.

Only reason I gave more than one star was the politeness of the staff and the fact I wasn’t charged to come look at my problem. However Mark is infuriating. First time around he came late and ended up taking a phone call outside my building. I was watching him from my stoop go on and on with his call without any regard for me looking at him waiting to be done. Then It was like pulling teeth trying to get him to schedule me to fix a leak they couldn’t fix the first time around. He swore the leak was due to needing a deep cleaning, which they did but didn’t fix the problem. Then for 4 months I had to beg him to come back to try a new solution. He jerked me around and I just said enough. Looking for someone with more professionalism.

Mazgan provided me a $250 estimate over the phone and then charged me $800 to get my furnace working after 2 hours (that's $400/hr!) with the guarantee that their expertise (which I was paying so much for) would mean they would take how ever long necessary to get my furnace working properly. I was stuck and I paid. A couple of days later the furnace stopped and I called them back. They wanted to charge me another $800!! When I balked they started to negotiate with me, first taking $150 off, then going down to $400. Very unsavory operation to do business with. I asked them to leave. I've subsequently disputed the charge with my credit card co and if not successful I will follow-up with small claims court. In case they claim this is just a FAKE / HATER review, I am glad to provide copy of receipt from Mazgan for over $850 and the receipt from a reputable plumbing operation just 9 days later that actually fixed the problem. Glad to also post the text message chains and subsequent emails where Mazgan promised to make refund and then never did.
