M. Carroll Blacktop Service

I was very lucky that Carroll paving was setting up to do a large paving job that canceled. I happen to see see one of their trucks drive by , we stopped him and he came by may place. He gave me a very good price and I said yes ,when can you start. With in 10 minutes his equipment was on site and starting to grade the drive way, I had put down road base 1 year prior and I am on solid rock. His equipment was top notch , new and clean, his employees(8) all knew exactly what to do and were friendly. The owner M Carroll and son operated the paving machine and they paved over 5000 square feet in 3 hours. My drive way looks great and harden in hours. The next day I was able to drive on it, There were no loose material or soft spots anywhere. I was very impressed with the crews knowledge, workmanship, condition of equipment, the owners attitude ,work ethics and price. Jim T. New Braunfels , Texas

They are awful. So quick to come out and beg for us to let them do the job, but getting them to come back to fix their problems is ridiculous. one week after they laid the driveway, it rained and washed it all away, they said they would come back and fix it however, they continue to give some lame response, like they are working out of town or something. POOR customer service, will NOT stand behind their work. Perhaps if they were more trustworthy then they would get more business. PATHETIC. SAVE YOUR MONEY AND GO ELSEWHERE.

They did the job. But they pulled the "we have extra asphalt" and we'll give to you for the bargain price of ..., so I got extra paving for an extra cost.

Quoted price for 2500 sq. ft. asphalt, poured 1600 and tried to bill us. We had to argue to get them to come measure and pour remaining square feet before we would pay.

Seal started coming off after 2 months. 3 contacts, 2 no shows finally came out and tried to upsell. Would not honor guarantee and stated that they only guaranteed asphalt not blacktop. ( What? ) Large cracks that were not there to begin with. Would have been better left as it was. Will use another company for repair.

They were prompt, they did it relatively fast and I really whoever is gonna do it they need to inspect the drive to make sure that if they have any questions they get an answer before they leave, I did not do that.

I didn't have to be there. They got it done while I was at work.

<p>I contacted three asphalt driveway contractors from Angie’s list to get estimates to work on my asphalt driveway.   I picked M Carroll to do the job because they worked harder than the other two companies to get my business. I initially contacted them on Thursday afternoon and the owner, Matt, came by my home a couple of hours later to personally evaluate my driveway and give me estimates for both laying down a asphalt cover and for applying chip seal on top of the old asphalt. He also provided a copy of a work order that listed listed terms & conditions and warranty details for the contract. After I had received some estimates from other companies, I emailed some questions to Matt about chip seal paving and he responded quickly by phone to discuss them with me.  Aware that I was entertaining several offers, he agreed to both lower his price and schedule the work immediately in order to beat the other contractors. </p> <p><br></p> <p>The very next morning he showed-up at my house about an hour ahead of schedule with a crew of about 7 people. The crew immediately got to work and to my eye they looked liked they had done this about a million times. Everybody seemed to know their jobs, they worked efficiently and acted professionally (nobody stood around idle and no chitchat). Three hours later they were done and my 2,800 square feet driveway was chip sealed. Matt’s son Jim was there to provide a written receipt and collect payment. Not being familiar with a chip seal driveway, I asked him to fill up one of my 5 gallon buckets with chips in case I wanted to touch up an area or two and he was happy to provide this. </p> <p><br></p> <p>The new chip seal driveway looks great! I’m writing this review a couple of days after they did the job and we’ve had no issues with using the driveway. It’s spring and severe thunderstorms have rolled through our area in the last several days (including the evening after they did the job) and the rain has not disturbed the driveway at all. The quality of the job seems to pretty good. They were careful to apply the tar just on the driveway and not hit the sidewalk, garden or fence. The edges are nice, clean and tidy. The gravel was mostly laid down at a consistent depth although there are a couple of small spots where I can see the tar and that makes me think it might be a little thin in those spots. They also left behind some bits of tar along side the lawn that they should have picked-up and disposed of. Still, these are pretty minor issues. I used a little of the chips from the bucket to touch up the few spots I thought were a little thin and that fixed them right up. </p> <p><br></p> <p>Overall I would rate the quality as very good and the price/responsive as excellent. I would definitely use them again. </p>

Paid $5000 to have Chip N Seal done on our driveway. He says he gives a one year warranty. Within 6 months we had weeds popping up EVERYWHERE! We spoke with him numerous times, but he would not honor his warranty. Even contacted BBB, but no luck with that either. We are still battling the weeds. Complete waste of money. <br />

Called one day they arrived the next to do the job. Arrived 1/2 hour earlier which was great. Large crew great equipment. They were done by 3:00 PM. Great job. <br />

I met with Mr. Carroll on Monday, June 29th. They showed up on Tuesday to start the job. I have been trying to get someone to do my driveway for several months. Couldn't get anyone to show up, most wouldn't even call back. Not the case with the m. Carroll company. He told me what they would do, then did it. I believe there were three members of the family on site most of the day. They all worked on different aspects of the project. Everything went very well. Mr. Carroll advised me throughout the day as to what they were doing and of anything changed per our agreement. Can't say enough good things about this company. Thier equipment was clean and in outstanding condition, no broken down stuff. They even went out of thier way to clean up after completion. This was a great experience. Love my new driveway. Great job! Would recommend these folks every day of the week and twice on Sunday. <br />

called and emailed for warranty work within the first 6 months. Was promised it would be taken care of for a year. he has not responded in the last 2 years. Driveway was 50% destroyed in 8 months is now 90% destroyed. <br />

<p> They all arrived 30 minutes early at 9:30 and completed the job and were on their way by 2:00.  2 complete layers of oil/rocks were applied.  They would have been done sooner but for traffic issues which delayed delivery of the gravel.  Working with Matt and his guys was a pleasure and they truly went the extra mile to assure that we were happy.  FIRST CLASS OPERATION!!!!!!!!!  </p> <p>And.....our driveway looks amazing!!!!!!!! The aesthetics far exceed asphalt and for a fraction of the cost.  </p> <p>I will recommend M. Carroll Blacktop Service to all of my friends with NO reservations.</p> <br />
