Rick and his crew did a wonderful job on something that is a big mess. One of the main reasons I choose Rick was because of his responsiveness to my questions after he provided a quote. That didn't changed after I hired him which was a pleasant surprise. During the process, his crew worked on some interior projects as well and they again did a fantastic job. I would hire Rick McCoy again for large or small projects.

The McCoy Plumbing came over and could not find any leaks. They suggested to check the inside of the house. They just measure the moisture and charged more than $230 for the trip.
Response from McCoy Plumbing
"The customer was provided up front pricing for the thermal imaging camera before arrival. He is correct in the fact that no leaks were found."

As customers, we all know that finding an honest contractor is a necessity. While I've tended to trust contracting professionals by default, I now find it crucial to approach any new contracting endeavors with much more skepticism and a need to have an audit trail based on my experience with McCoy Plumbing. The short version of the truth is as follows.... My family was in a vulnerable situation since our water supply line was leaking, resulting in astronomical utility bills and an overall frustrating experience to find out what the real issue was, which contractor(s) can actually resolve the issue, and finding a reasonable price. Jim McCoy came to our house, after 2 previous estimates, to evaluate the situation and provide a price quote. Unlike the two previous estimates, he hastily blurted out an "all in" price that would cover the full scope of repairs. In other words, he committed to not exceeding the price threshold later in the process. After the quote, I was told the work would be scheduled within a few days and a written estimate would come as well. After a delay exceeding the timeline, I contacted Jim only to be told how busy he was, etc., etc., etc. I understand contractors are "always crazy busy" but part of my decision to work with them was based on the commitment to fix the issue relatively quickly. Anyways, at the last minute and while I was busy at work, I got a call that the crew was on the way to my house to fix the leak. I checked my email but still didn't see any estimate so I called to ask for it. I finally received it before the work was done but while it was already in progress. The quoted price was now over $1,000 more than what we agreed on. The work was nearly complete when I got home a couple of hours later and I disputed the price with the main worker on site. Of course, he had no idea about the pricing or whatever, he wasn't a supervisor or whatever, just there to do the work and collect a signature. When I spoke with Jim, he was incredibly disrespectful, hostile, and unprofessional. He was using all sorts of curse words and even threatened to come on to my property and sabotage the work if I didn't pay full price. Aside from this, there were constant lies and accusations about the timeline, documentation, etc. For example, he claimed that the estimate was given to me a week in advance of the work. I asked him to forward me the original email, but he wasn't able to. Obviously, he'll deny all of this and claim that I'm the one that wronged him. Honestly, I don't care and I'm glad to have this behind me, but what I do feel is necessary is to warn all other customers of what I experienced. This was a complete lack of integrity and class, not to mention an attempt to swindle a vulnerable customer out of money. I'm not the first customer to have this experience with McCoy Plumbing - you'll notice in the pictures I've attached that there's a consistent set of unacceptable issues.

Very well, rep came in, introduced himself, reviewed the situation, wasted no time in cutting it out, told me to ask my upstairs neighbors not to run any water in their kitchen sink. He ran to Home Depot to get a piece of pipe and when he came back he replaced the pipe and was out the door in less than 1/2 hour.

Rick was excellent. Our water heater died during a cold snap in January. We called another plumber, he tried to revive our old Navien water heater that was located outdoors, but it was beyond repair. The other plumber gave us an estimate to install a new water heater in our garage. It was way too expensive. We called McCoy, and he gave us a very reasonable estimate, given that the gas line had to be extended from one side of the house to the other. Rick listened to our concerns and objectives, and provided what we wanted. Josh and Taylor showed up and worked quickly and efficiently, and it was a long day at that. The new water heater is working very well, and we hope to have no problems during future cold snaps. The new water heater is a recirculating model and we have the wired remote located in the house. This configuration works very well for us.

Received McCoy's recommendation from a friend. I'm glad she told me about them. MJ was very helpful and responsive with setting up prompt Appts for me. She sent Josh (also recommmended by my friend) to fix our problems. Josh did an excellent job, fixing all issues. He was prompt, professional and knowledgeable. Josh worked around my schedule and was courteous enough to call me on his way to the appt. I feel like the cost was reasonable. He worked quickly, but responsibly.

The water heater instillation went well. When the plumber left, I noticed that the diverter valve was still leaking. I called and was told that it would need additional work. The plumber didn't say anything about it before he left. I asked for a quote on getting that work done and was told she would get back to me. I didn't hear back and contacted them again a couple days later asking again. They just never responded. Never knew why.

Beware!! We had a TERRIBLE experience!! McCoy plumber #1 came, spent 1/2 looking at work to be done, then said it was "too much for him to do"...he had "too many other calls to make", had to pick up his children, and that the office manager had not given him all the correct info.....ok...so a week later McCoy plumber # 2 came..(Lee). He did a good job, was professional, friendly and completed all work needed....no drama. Bathroom renos continued and we called for more assistance. The plumber that came was Plumber #1... again he was "very busy' ...couldn`t do the extra item I requested (that I understood.) but. he didn`t even complete the 2 items I had scheduled! he told me that one of the work requests "didn`t need to be done yet"..even though I explained that the new floor tile would set better with a level valve....still he didn`t do the work requested. Subsequently, I had to find another plumber to finish that work. When I questioned the bill, office manager was unpleasant, told me he had done the work I requested and told me the fault was mine because I asked him to do something not scheduled. I explained that I understood he cound`t do the extra work...al he had to do was say so! Instead I had to listen to a litany of reasons why, and personnel problems within the company, A hallmark of a quality company is how to handle/resolveproblems...unfortunately McCoy Plumbing doesn`t seem to be able to do this part of business... The owner and office manager both seemed more interested in knowing I would pay the bill!! I will certainly do so ..(but by the way: they told me I would get a discount for being a member of Angie`s list...but no discount!!)

They did a couple of things. One was moving a bathtub drain. I was not all that pleased with it. The other thing was a couple of sinks. I guess I had installed the main part of the sink, and they were to go up underneath there and put in the U trap and all that stuff. I was kind of not all that pleased either. Now, on the second part, some of that stuff that had not been found out about until later. What I had noticed when he was putting in the stuff underneath, he had to take loose the p trap, and it goes into the wall. Well, he had used a tool to cut out part of the wall where it goes back in there, so he can get his pipe wrench to go around the nut and what that did was it left a wider hole. I didn't notice that until just a few months ago, really. A neighbor was downstairs which is where the half bath is. I had some folks there. They had the crawl space open, and I had the little cabinet door open underneath there and I saw the light. I said, where is that light coming from? Like I said, he put the tool and widened the hole and failed to cover it back up with something. With the original tool of the p trap devices that was on there, there's a silver cover over the hole that covers. He wanted to use his stuff. He widened the hole a little bit and he didn't cover it back up, he left a hole there. Therefore insects and whatever can get through it. I didn't go behind there and check. I had purchased a big deal; part of it was that. Then, I paid an additional sum also, which I thought was too high, but I let it go. I actually started to complain about it later because I was pretty upset about the choices. I only had one or two plumbers, but nobody's ever had a problem cleaning a slow drain. he claimed he was afraid to use a larger tool because it may do some damage. Nobody else said anything close to that. I said, I called a couple of plumbers before and it was like a two-second job, they just take that tool put a little pressure down there and it was done. So, he's trying to do it basically like I would do it by taking a plunger, taking the contraptions off and plunging it. Nobody has ever tried that before. After he had left, I did some work on it myself and I got it working better than he had. Overall, I wouldn't give him no more than a "C". On responsiveness, I mean when I called them; they came within a reasonable time. I would kind of be hesitant to use them again.
