It went very well, he didn't even complain that he had to melt the ice.

It was fine. The first time the problem was that the pump was clogged. The second time a sensor needed to be replaced, and the third time the belt broke. They were very nice and polite. They went to work right away and access the situation and fixed everything. I was very pleased.

Not well at all. We set a time in an email and he didn't show up until the next day. Then he spent about 25 minutes in the home putting in a new ice maker I had purchased. He took out the old ice maker and took it with him. As it turned out, the ice maker wasn't the problem and I basically installed a new ice maker that didn't need to be installed. I could have returned it had he said that the problem wasn't the ice maker. At the time he replaced it, he thought the sensor might be also be a problem. A few days later on the phone when I explained that the new ice maker wasn't making ice any better than the old ice maker, he said thought the sensor was ok and that a water valve might be the problem. It was apparent to me at this point he didn't have any idea what my ice maker's specific problem was.
He didn't have a screw with him that we needed to put in the door of the frig to keep it from making a popping sound when we opened and closed it. So to get another screw, he took down the serial number, but wrote it wrong and called back a few days later to get a correct serial number. He also was supposed to email me or call me back with a quote to repair two non-functioning burners on the stove.
After 10 days from the purchase of service, still no solution to the problem! I wasted $79 and basically got nothing of value for my money!
Response from Mckenzie Appliance Services
"Mr. [Member Name Removed] our company have tried on several occasion to reach you by phone to set your first and second appointment, messages were left and we received no answer ….. Then you called and we schedule your first appointment we made it clear that we will call you prior to arrival… if no answer we are assuming you are not home.. ...anything could have happened and you had to rush out….. however I do apologize for not meeting your standard, and I regret that you are not satisfied with the work performed….the screw was a special screw which I had to order, I thoroughly check all the appliances in question and all was good… when you requested my return for the ice maker, I had no way to contact you apart from the phone number you gave us that goes unanswered each time we call….I was unable to reach you to schedule an appointment ….. again I do apologize for any inconvenience"

Prompt - was on time as planned. Tested dishwasher and informed me that the motor was out. He was in/out in less than 10 minutes because I was not intending on having the dishwasher fixed, depending upon the issue.
Our dryer would not start - we checked the power, door switch, timer, fuse for continuity, etc. but it wouldn't start so we purchased a deal for a service call. Although it took a couple of weeks to get on the schedule, it worked out ok because Mr. McKenzie first thought it was the dial for the timer (which was cracked) but the timer was ticking so he checked further and found the problem to be a wire that disconnected within the dryer, which he reconnected and it began working again. It was good that he was persistent in finding the problem. I would definitely call him again.
It took several days for him to initially contact me. When he did, he apologized and explained he was unusually busy due to the offer on Angie's List and he offered to come out the next day which was on a Sunday - his normal day off. I had purchased the $69 for an appliance service call because there was a leak in my washing machine. He examined it and said that I needed a new pump which would cost approximately $200. He ordered the pump and came back out to install several days later. Total cost was $200 for the pump + $69 for the service call. Total time from initial contact to fix was about 10 days. It is fixed. It has been about two weeks since and we've had no problems with the clothes washer. He was a normal level of friendly & professional.
I had to leave work early in order to make the appointment time. The repairman was an hour and half later. Once he got there he was able to determine the issue and fix it. Very professional.
