They say a picture tells a thousand words. But when doing business with contractors they’re word and their actions mean everything. From the initial conversation I had with Mike at MCM Construction, Mike made me feel reassured that MCM Construction new exactly what they were doing and they had the resources to do the job correctly. Mike from MCM Construction came out and performed an on-site face to face meeting with me. We walked the job out together, we discussed my wants and requirements, time lines, obstacles and objectives. Every last detail was important to Mike. Shortly thereafter a detailed quote was sent to me, no surprises… MCM Construction met every one of my expectations and requests. The crew was friendly, confident and extremely respectful and very professional. I couldn’t have chosen a better company to do the work. MCM did an excellent job of preparing and installing stone over a block long road to my garage, and across the front of several homes and driveways along the way...and they took the time to compact the entire job which most contractors don't do. They were there on time and the price for the scope of this work was very reasonable. However, when asked to return to add some stone to the aprons of a neighbor's driveway--where they had poured the stone at right angles which caused the neighbor to turn into the driveway on the grass--I was told we would have to wait until August because they were too busy with paving jobs at this point. It would only take a half yard of loose stone--and 30 minutes to put it in place--but they couldn't find the time. I will now order the stone and pour it on the aprons myself to complete the job. The net is, if it weren't for the lack of follow-up, I would have given their work a 5 star rating--and do recommend them--with the caveat that one should not expect them to return to fix something after the fact no matter how minor it may be.

Mike arrived to give an estimate. He arrived on time and measured the driveway. Mike explained the two types of sealer and made his recommendation and why. Mike contacted me with a fair estimate and what dates were available. I explained we were going vacation, so he rearranged his schedule to fit us in. My husband wanted to be present to watch him seal the driveway. Mike arrived exact when he said he would. Mike had all the right tools for the job and started cleaning off the driveway with a leaf blower and then burned off the grassy edges. Mike explained with older driveways he preferred to hand sealing vs spray seals the driveway. Hand sealing enables him to fill in all the pitted areas that occur over time. Mike completed his work and cleaned everything up before he left to seal our neighbors driveway. Both my neighbor and I were so impressed with his work and work ethic. Mike also repaired the end of our driveway where severe rains flood the yard. I can’t say enough about Mike and his son. I highly recommend MCM Construction for your next driveway project. I might add that both driveways look spectacular. We’d give 10 stars if we could.

Excellent - it was a pleasure to do business with Mike. From the initial inquiry to completion of job, it was a little over a week. He answered every phone call and email promptly and explained everything along the way. The driveway looks great! I have already recommended him to several neighbors.
