In summary, Medusa: overcharged me, double charged me on the same item then came back to my house after being asked for a refund three times only to sit in my driveway and try to argue the amount down, cut corners at every opportunity (i.e., was supposed to give me a new porch but instead refaced an ancient crumbling existing porch), damaged my back door and foundation wall due to his sloppy work (which was wholly unrelated to those areas of my home), installed gashed treads on my "new" steps and promised to return five times to replace them but then just stopped responding to my texts, lied to my neighbor who also hired him by promising to correct an aspect of her job only to turn around at the end of the project and demand more money. I could go on. When Jim of Medusa undercuts his competitors' quotes, hold off on the celebration. What you actually receive may be subpar and more expensive.

Excellent. Jim was very responsive to calls and scheduled our job very quickly because we had just moved into the home. His crew worked really hard to get the job done on some really hot days. The job came out beautifully and we love our new patio! The change was dramatic (see pictures below). I have recommended Medusa to friends in need of concrete work.

They were excellent. I called on a Tuesday, and Jim was out the next day to take a look at the job and give me a detailed estimate. They started work the next day and were finished by Friday. I will definitely be calling them again for any more concrete work I need done.

I contacted a contractor working across the street who came to obtain measurements; he stated that the proposal would be forthcoming--it never came. Months later I contacted Medusa--the owner, Jim, was at the home the next day. Jim did the measurements, suggested changes (which we approved because they were indeed improvements), and presented a proposal. Quite frankly, it was below what my wife and I anticipated. He said that because of the upcoming Labor Day holiday (2016), he had an opening and could do the job while we were away on holiday. We returned from holiday to find an unbelievable surprise--so beautiful. It really did what we wanted -- an improvement (and added value). Neighbors came by to take notes and/or photos about the contractor (we allowed him to put up a lawn sign, which we rarely do). Jim stopped by today and I pointed out VERY, VERY MINOR issues (which I could have taken care of myself, but I thought he should know about for future jobs) and he stated that his crew would be out to fix them later this week.

I was very pleased with the whole experience with this company. The owner arrived at the scheduled time to give me an estimate for the work that was to be done. He actually completed the estimate before he left and explained the entire process to me. I accepted his estimate since he was recommended to me by a carpenter that had previously done work for me, and his estimate fell within my expected cost range.

The very rainy weeks that we experienced delayed the start of the actual work. He let me know a few days before the start of the work when he would be here. The owner and his team arrived the first day and removed the asphalt driveway and prepared the driveway area with the forms needed before cement could be poured. They removed the bricks that we had placed as a border along the sides and saved them to be replaced after the cement was set.

They also prepared the area for the small patio in the back year. When I asked them to place the soil/sod that they were removing in a low area in the yard, they easily did that and even broke up the soil for me to add seeding after they were finished.

Throughout the day, you were aware that they were working as a true team with each worker (5-6 people) doing his part and keeping on task. The owner was there most of the time, and he did call me out to make sure that what they were doing matched what I wanted to have done. He willing adjusted the change of shape of one side of the patio.

The following morning the whole team and the concrete truck arrived at the promised 8:00am arrival time, and the described team work continued. The owner oversaw the whole process and became a fellow worker several times, especially during the final finishing. When it started to rain, they covered the areas with plastic and attended to some of the clean up work that needed to be done with a few leaving to do work on another job. They alerted me that the concrete needed time to settle, and they arrived back at the given time. At the end of the day, the only work that needed to be completed was the replacing of the bricks. Everything was cleaned up and yellow caution tapes were in place. Rain delayed the replacement of the bricks, but they were there to complete the job the next day.

I believe this description captures why this company has received such high ratings from me. They are reliable, professional, knowledgeable, communicate and listen to you, and can be trusted. They have done other driveways in the neighborhood.

From start to finish, working with Medusa Concrete (Jim) was an awesome experience. They guided me through picking all the right materials to create the look that I was going for. Jim personally took me over to the supply house to see first hand the stamps that were going to be used. The amount of professionalism and attention to detail far exceeded my expectations. Overall I am completely satisfied and will most definitely be using them in the near future as well as referring them to anyone that is looking to have concrete work done.
