It DIDN'T!! I was contacted by Cici , who ASSURED me her price was accurate and actually went to great length in explaining the "board" where a bid could be made on a transport. When I asked her why her quote was so low ($675 vs. an average of $800) she told me the $800 quotes were trying to take advantage of me. Well I gave her a deposit and a pick up date for a week later. When I hadn't heard back in a week, the DAY BEFORE the pick up she told me NO ONE TOOK THE BID and I'd have to try $900-$1000 !!!! I was left with no pick up and had to fly back to FL !!! I was lucky enough to have kept the other bids and lined something up with Edwin ( a real pro) with Nationwide Transport Services who quoted a guaranteed price and delivered the car ( see my review)

On picking the vehicle up in Maryland, I had all kinds of problems with where their truck would go in order to obtain the vehicle. I couldn't park the vehicle in the airport surface lots because their trucks couldn't get in it easily and had to park it, unlocked with the keys under the floor mat, in the parking lot of a shopping center in a not so good neighborhood. When the vehicle arrived in Denver, they required the balance of their fee to be paid in cash. I was in training for my new job on this day and they wouldn't bring the car to my office building because they didn't like having to drive in a downtown location so I had to run to an auto repair shop (which I was going to bring the car in for service at some point), give them $800 IN CASH, and ask them to receive my vehicle from this company. <br /> While my car was not damaged and the delivery timeframe was good, I had too many headaches/problems with pick up and drop off locations that I would never again use this company for my transporting needs. In fact, I didn't even tip the driver. I was really annoyed with the incompetence. I mean, really, you haul vehicles for a living and you're gonna be scared to drive down a downtown street? It was all about making it convenient for THEM, not their customer. <br />

<p> </p> Quoting process was good. Very fast response. Company gave me an estimated timeframe. They called and left a message the day before the work. I had hoped they would have given me a little more notice. I was not available that day and when I called they gladly set another date. The work was done fast and efficiently. They were carefull not to impact the lawn or my neighbors yards. They cleaned up very thoroughly. The office staff, workers and managers were all friendly and professional. The price was more than I had expected but the results offset the cost. <br />

I like that they told me upfront everything, their whole process. The other companies that I got quotes from told me a little bit but they didn't go into detail they way they did. They actually called me and told me, the other just sent a quote an email quote and that made a difference as well as the way as they work as brokers. I really liked that. The pricing was better than the others. I think they were in the middle but I just liked the service that they had given me at that point. My car was maybe 2 days late getting here but that was okay. It got here safe and sound. They did a good job and they stayed in contact with me.

I was pleasantly surprised that I had chosen the right company to handle the job. My initial intention was to drive the car myself, as I was concerned about choosing the wrong company which could lead to my property being damaged, etc. Too many bad players in this field, but Jim with MAT won my business with his professionalism and integrity. I felt safe leaving my property in Jim's hands. <br /> Jim with MAT has been added to my phones directory for next time I need his service. <br />

The experience was ok. He advised us that they would be able to deliver the car in the evening but the driver advised that he couldn't do that. They did keep in touch with us so we knew when they would deliver the car but we were scrambling to get someone to be home to sign for the car.

My experience with Roman of Mercury Auto Transport was first class. I had never shipped a car before and was very gun shy about the entire industry due to the number of negative postings I had read. Roman sent me an email with step by step expectations that greatly simplified the process for me. Once set up, I received reminders and updates in a timely manner. The follow up was excellent. My car arrived early and in perfect condition. The driver was polite and professional. I would not hesitate to use Mercury again.

The delivery was fine, but there were issues with communication. I could not get in touch with them easily and the driver could not speak English very well, and did not understand some instrucitons.

They didn't get back to me when I was trying to get a date for the move. It was getting frustrating because I agreed with them, and they couldn't give me a date. Once they gave me a date, they told me it wasn't final. They told me the driver would call me, and he never did. Once they picked up my car, everything was fine.

They simply contract with private carriers. So they actually go out and find carriers. They charge a commission for the carrier to the customer and then we pay the carrier. So I think their commission was maybe 200-250 of the thousand that we paid. I will say that one of the cars had a pretty good size scratch that was caused (in my opinion) when it was moved onto the carrier. I actually spoke with the gentleman at Mercury prior to because I had gotten on line and read about these auto transport companies out there. You really have to be careful. He the gentlemen I spoke with to assured me the fact that is he only dealt with very reputable auto transport companies and carriers that he was familiar with. As it resulted there ended up being probably a good foot scratch in the car. So were not very happy with that. Was it this guys fault? Probably not but it was something we were concerned about. The carrier swore that he didn't cause it but it was fresh and it was the same color as the carrier which was blue and the car was white. So it was frustrating. It was one of those things that we kind of though might happen and it did.

One thing we make sure is that the carriers we contract have the proper insurance . The only way you will ever have a issue being reimbursed is if the damage is not documented on the inspection sheet from delivery. The insurance companies only will honor and reimburse documented claims. This is why we explain to everyone go over the vehicle in detail before you pay your carrier. This will be covered by the carrier with out a issue as long as the paperwork is in order. Thank-you for your consideration,and working with us. I recently shipped my car across the country and initially went with Mercury. I shopped multiple carriers and Mercury came in the lowest and seemed to have a good reputation. I soon realized this was not the case at all. Mercury acts as a broker, like many transportation companies. The reason they came in lower than most other carriers is because of pure lack of honesty. When I signed with them (a contract that says you will use soley them and no one else) I soon realized that if I actually wanted my car shipped I would have to dramatically have to increase my price. <br /> After multiple conversations with representatives they blamed me for everything saying that I needed to raise the price when they would come to me for offers that were significantly higher than the quotes I received and said I was being difficult. The customer service was one of the worst experiences I had. <br /> After over a month of nothing happening expect harsh conversations with the company, I finally was able to break my contract and choose another carrier. I did not end up shipping through this company and cannot speak on the actual transportation. <br /> I want to give a heads up that if you are shopping multiple carriers and Mercury happens to be the lowest, please be aware that you will expect to pay MUCH more than quoted if you actually want your vehicle moved <br /> My recommendation is to go through a company that actually performs the shipping and does not just act as a broker....even if it costs a bit more.

The only thing we charge is a small service fee for putting drivers through a screening process to make sure they have the proper credentials, and doing all the paper work and customer service. We cannot force you or a driver to do anything you don’t feel is fair. Unfortunately the driver’s offers were a little higher than what you were looking for. If we don’t ship your vehicle we don’t get paid. Again I am sorry we were not able to get you a price that was agreeable to you, but we did our best.
