I moved into my house in 1995. There was all ready an in-ground (plaster) pool when we moved in. It had been built in 1990 by Sylvan Pools. The pool was beautiful until around 2010. There were a couple of spots at the bottom of the steps where the re-bar was showing through. So, I decided to have it re-plastered in 2012. I thought they did a good job, at first. The last day the worker, who put water into the pool, left a stain. Okay, I put up with that. Soon after, I tried to turn on the pool light & it didn't come on. It was flooded with water. Okay again, since I never use the pool light. But, starting about 3-4 years ago my pool has started to get more & more stains in it. We live in Phoenix Arizona. We don't close our pool & the pump is run everyday. This year we have had a terrible time with algae. While dealing with it I'm finding more & more hairline cracks in the plaster. "The original pool looked great for 20+ years. This one maybe 4 or 5 years. ""ADEQUATE"" seems" "to be the ""norm"" anymore."

I was thrilled with the work performed by the Mercury Pool team. The waterline tile work was detailed, completed with care and high quality. The cool deck and pebble tech were also done very well. The scheduling was little hit and miss, due to weather, holidays and trying to juggle all customers. The cost of the remodel was reasonable. Overall, I was very happy with the quality of work by Mercury Pools and results of my pool remodel.

Very well, Joel and his crew were friendly, professional and attentive to our needs. They did an excellent job from beginning to end. We couldn't be more pleased with the whole Mercury experience.

Would highly recommend this company. Victor is great. Tells it like it is. He won't do a plaster pool anymore, he recommends quartz plaster, because it holds up much better. It looks great, it has blue flecks in it, very pretty clear look. We work, so we never saw the crew. They said it would take 3 days , and it did. everything was cleaned up at the end of each day and on the 3rd day the pool was filling. Were are very happy.

Victor was upfront about the timeline to complete the project. The project was done in stages as planned. The first crew came to jackhammer the old surface and tile and from the start I had immense confidence in them. They worked as a unified team, very organized and thorough. My project was difficult because there is no backyard access and all materiel had to come through the front door and house. The crews were very careful and diligent in protecting my house and floor as well as cleaning up the work area after each part of the project. Different crews were sent out to address the different parts of the project and each did an outstanding job. It seemed as if each crew member had worked together for a while as their approach to the job was focused and unified. They worked quickly and efficiently but were not rushed nor sloppy. Everyone left the job site neat and tidy especially after the demolition of the old pool surface ( jack hammering concrete and plaster creates lots of dust) and during the resurfacing. The crew cleaned up the whole patio including the chaise lounges and removed all the ambient concrete and plaster dust. The deck resurfacers gently tied back plants in the borders around the pool and taped off areas so as not to get paint anywhere but the deck. There was no fuss nor muss. Very, very professional crews as well as Victor and his office staff. I highly recommend Mercury Pool Plasterers for resurfacing and rebuilding your pool.

It went great. Victor Murillo really knew what he was doing when estimating everything. Mercury Plastering came out and completed the job in a couple of days. The pool looks exceptional now. We are very pleased.

Good size odd shape poo with spa. Selected the quartz plaster. They replaced the pool tile also. Price seemed competitive with others. Plastering went well. On time as scheduled. Everything about the replastering was straight forward. They had trouble installing the new pool light. Still not hanging properly. They said will come back when water is warmer so person could get in the water for longer time. I agreed and will call them end of May or early summer. I trust they will complete the job as they seemed reliable and did spend several hours on the light already.

We had Victor, the Mercury representative come by and we agreed on the work, signing the contract, as well as paying half the cost up front. We were not in a hurry and were surprised when the demolition crew showed up the next morning to remove the old plaster. They seemed to take care in keeping the mess to a minimum. The crew was gone by mid-afternoon. The tile guy(s) came two weeks later and did a very nice job installing new tile around the top edge of the pool. The tile is perfectly aligned and level. Next came the crew who was to prep the walls for the new coating and they were very good about explaining what they were doing and some problems they had found that needed extra care. Then the day of the coating application came. We had been in contact with the Mercury office about letting us know in advance when they would be there, and they missed the mark again that morning. But, all that was needed of us was to open the alley gate for the mixer carrying the coating and the crew took it from there. They worked hard and were done by early afternoon. The coating and tile looked great, even without water in the pool once they were done. The final item we were waiting on was a handrail and after a few days of waiting, it was finally installed. All in all, Mercury did a great job on the pool. The only complaint we have with them is their lack of notification when the crews would be out to do the work, but that did not make much of an issue with the work or our schedule.

It is difficult to find honest and fair contractors, Victor is a class act.

Mercury did a great job. When they prep your pool it looks like a war zone in Beirut and they shared up front that it would be a week or so to come back and plaster. Sure enough a week later they are back with a big crew and did a great job on the plaster install.

I chose Mercury Pools as Angie's list had an A rating for them, and I was working 6 days a week and needed help choosing a company....I called Victor and he gave me an acceptable quote, and was able to get started a week later. Victor and Ana were very pleasant and helpful. I agreed to have new tile placed around the pool as it was 25 years old, but in great shape. I liked the color, but the tile that was replaced was done by a professional tile setter. The tile I got was not lined up well and uneven. I did complain as it looked awful. They came back and re- did it but it was nothing like the original. When I asked why they couldn't get it even they said that it was just how it was done. The resurface part looked good in the end, but the equipment they used leaked oil on my flagstones. They did try and put down tarps which took up most of it. The pipework leaked, but they came back and fixed it. Over-all I would give them a B rating for the job.....I was looking for an A and was disappointed! I need more work done in my newly purchased home, but I am now hesitant in doing anything else......

Mercury pool did an EXCELLENT job with the resurfacing and re tiling of my pool. Victor was very helpful and Chris was AWESOME!!!! I love the work they did. They were clean, on time and a great price!!! I would highly recommend them!!!

We started right before Christmas and finished at the start of February. This was a time frame I found acceptable, especially considering the very poor weather we had for a week and a half. <br /> Victor came out and gave an estimate. He was prompt, and he understood what I wanted to accomplish within my budget. He made suggestions but overall I felt he wanted me to be happy with the finished product. He also gave me a very specific estimate, and explained additional fees that might be incurred, and explained ways he would try to save money (trying to keep the skimmer system intact, for example). <br /> The crews who worked on the pool were excellent. They always cleaned up after themselves, and I always got a call when they would be arriving. I did not have any surprises. The cool deck people went out of their way to repair a crack I had in my existing cool decking near the pool stairs without asking and I really appreciated that they took that extra step for me.  At no point did I ever have any problems with any of the work crews. They were diligent and professional. <br /> They finished up today. There was a slight misunderstanding of final payment due to a couple little details but Chris immediately called into the office and we resolved it at that moment to my satisfaction. And, they saved me money again at the end by fixing a switch to my pool light rather than the light, which did not need replacing. (it was a weird fiber optic setup). <br /> Overall I would 100% recommend Victor, Chris, and all of Mercury Pools. I paid a large amount of money to get my pool redone and I was very nervous about parting with that money! I have been down the road before where I was out money and I was left very unhappy. That is not the case with Mercury Pools. Victor also tells me it's guaranteed for 3 years. They may not be the cheapest, but they are on par with other estimates, and I felt that the quality they provided with priceless.

As stated above, I met with Mr. Murillo on the morning of Thursday, Oct. 22. That afternoon, Chris (never got his last name) began emptying my pool. The next morning, Friday, Oct. 23rd, the demo crew came and demoed the pool. I got home by 2:00pm, and the demo was finished. They had hung plastic over my patio to prevent any dust from getting on my patio. The backyard was cleaned meticulously. There was no sign, other than my demoed pool, that anyone had been there. On Monday, Oct. 26th, Chris and another man came back to retile my pool. They finished retiling my pool the following day. On Wednesday, Oct. 28th, they began filling my pool. It took three days. By Friday, Nov. 30th my pool was filled. I have recommended Mercury Pools to anyone with a pool. My neighbor used them, and a friend at work is going to use them, too. They are awesome. They do fantastic work. I told a friend that they worked so quickly and efficiently, I left like I'd hired elves.

Victor and his entire crew are very thorough and professional.  Chris (Project manager) is very knowledgeable and is able to solve seemingly complex challenges on the spot.    While Victor did not provide the lowest bid, he was open to working with us and went out of his way to accommodate our requests.  In fact, we initially picked the wrong deck color and Victor offered to redo the color at a greatly reduced price.  Overall we were very happy with the Mercury Team!  The before/after is quite a dramatic difference. <br />

Victor Murillo is the owner of the company.  He promptly came to provide an estimate which I found reasonable.  He indicated unexpected problems could arise as the project commenced and would have to be priced out separately.  This made me a little nervous but I decided to see how things went.  <br /> Victor's team came out and drained the pool on day one.  Day two they chipped out all the old tile.  When they started on the spa, a problem was discovered where rebar that eroded through the concrete/tile and required repair.  I inspected the problem and  observed where the mineral deposits from the chemical reaction, had accumulated and there clearly was no question it had to be repaired.  On day three they placed the new tile and day four grouted and sealed the tiling. <br /> When I examined the pool, I noted two scratches in the pebble coating that appeared to be worker damage.  I immediately brought it to Victor's attention.  He discussed the matter with his crew and they confirmed they accidentally caused the damage.  Victor had the area repaired at no charge.  The pool was then completely refilled and it looked beautiful. <br /> Two weeks later, the team came back and cleaned our cool decking on day one and then on day two rolled out a beautiful new coating that is beautiful.  In total, I was highly pleased with the efficient, clean work and the honesty of the the company.  I would use Mercury Pool Plastering again and happily recommend them to others.  <br /> <br /> <br />
