Garage door spring replaced August of last year. Called this morning (Jan. 2018) and woman denied having any record of my prior sale/repair/purchase, said "they do not work for private individuals." Phone connection was incredibly poor, she called back. Service before seemed fine. I suspect the same spring broke, but there's no way I will call this company again for service "they only work for companies" and she kept asking over and over and over again the same questions - my name, address....saying they had no record. (Fine - happy to move on....no need for rude service providers.)

They are hands down the best investment I ever made in my life. I had a very odd shaped area that I needed fenced off, but I have a very modern looking house. He came and took measurements within two days. He then came back with the final measurements with his welder. It was so fast. He had these 9' beautiful fences. They powder coat them to the color you want. His design is awesome. The property line is a little angled, so the fences wouldn't fit because the metal is so tall, so they went overnight and welded a new piece. It is so nice. After that, it was so good, I had them redo my garage door in the same style. That again, took nine business days. It was just perfect. It sounds expensive, but these were big gates. They ran 25' of fencing and then another 7' on one side. They also put in two doors that have deadbolts, with many angles. It's not just an average garage. My house was built in the 1920's, so they went way beyond. It wasn't like putting on a new door, they had to build a new steel frame, and then they had to inset it into the roof line. It was so much more than you could ever expect. I can't stop talking about it. They were just so good. They put two working barn doors on the garage with separate locks. It is very detailed. They were so professional. It's so hard to find in LA people that you want to work with again. They are going to do a 30' fence along the back of my house, so I will be using them again in a couple of months. I don't know how much more I could gush about them. I had been avoiding doing the work because I'm use to people coming up with excuses. They were just problem solvers. They were fixing problems and making them work versus trying to up charge you after the fact. It was very straightforward and the price didn't change. I think they did more work than they initially thought, but there was no haggle on the price or anything.

I saw there advertisement on Angie's List, stating that they will put a metal garage door back on it's track for $145, however, when the technician showed up at my house, he immediately proceeded to try and sell me a brand new garage door for $950, instead of putting the door back on the track. When I informed them I was not interested, due to seeing competitors offering a new garage door for less, the tech said they can come back to fix the door, but would have to bring a second worker. The technician stated there was no way to tell what repairs needed done and estimated it would take about 2 hours, give or take. They estimated the cost to be $495 for labor and repairs. When the second worker arrived, it only took them 1 hour to fix the door, which did not require any new parts. They just untangled the wires and lubed the wheels/ tracks. They informed me the charges would be $495. Since it did not require any new parts, only labor, I felt it should be the $150 I saw online through Angie's List. They were only there for 1 hour, where they stated they were there for 1.5. The technician stated there was a coupon online for 10% off, that I could apply to the total.

On install day Solomon and Jose came by an put in the wall and gate with no problems. They came fully prepared and did all the touch up work at the end. Highly recommend these guys, I'm definitely using them again in the future.

They told us it would be $225 to fix, which seemed high but we needed it quickly. Then I get home and realize the only thing they did was replace a few screws and grease the wheels. Then I left town for Thanksgiving holiday. When I get home, I find an invoice taped to my door with a crazy adhesive that leaves horrible residue all over the window, and 6 messages on my machine demanding payment (this is less than a week after the work, and the installer told us they'd email us about payment). When they called again, I complained about the window and suggested they should pay for it to be cleaned. The woman started yelling at me, saying she was going to put a lien on my house and call a collection agency!! Eventually I talked to the owner who sent someone over to clean it and collect the check. The garage door is working but it was a horrible experience and I would never use them again.

I had a damaged gate. David had previously given me a lower bid than the contractor we hired, but the other contractor was referred to me by a close friend who is a contractor (so we went with him). Although that contractor was fine, he was impossible to reach and the job took a long time to finish as a result. So, when we had a problem with our other gate, I called David! He was amazing. He came out to fix the gate that day. He was on time, and communicated extremely well with us. He did nothing without prior approval and explained the pricing, depending on the problem. He could have easily sold us a new gate motor, but instead fixed it for $245, including TWO visits. This was a bargain for the amount of work that he did, including testing of the parts back at his shop.

quick, clean, professional, Initially, the installer did not realize that my purchase included the keyless entry. i showed him the printed receipt. (I recommend to have on hand for any service purchased) He installed it, no problem, no fuss. <br>Also, they came out sooner than i was initially told.. GREAT! <br> <br>i would use this service again.

Wow, what a service oriented company! David was fantastic and arrived on-time with a courtesy text of when to expect him every time. He works very hard and makes sure he listens to what you want and does not push you into something you don't. I had a specific gate in mind and showed him a few pictures. It came out exactly as I wanted it without any hiccups. David brought his guys over about a week in advance to make sure they knew exactly how to install the gate and electrical. You really know that his work is top notch when he has that kind of attention to detail. I wouldn't hesitate to call David at Metal Garage Door and Gates for any of your needs. I was delighted they were able to respond within hours of my call. Our 25 year old garage door opener (motor and drive mechanism) failed yesterday and in less than 24 hours we have a new system, including new high security remote controls. The installation window was 2 - 4 PM and the technician arrived promptly at 2 PM. He completed the work in well under 90 minutes - very competent, professional and efficient. I do not expect to need these services again for a decade or more, but would not hesitate to recommend Metal Garage Door and Fence to others. <br> <br>Note: I gave a "B" quality rating for the product (not the service) only because I see a slight flaw in the design of the drive mechanism which I will discuss with this contractor, but I knew I was not buying the top end product. I shopped for price and the "A" rating and am very satisfied with my purchase. <br> <br>
