Dave came to me by recommendation of my usual guy because of an illness. My usual guy knows that I'm a real Estate Broker and I demand perfection so he recommended Dave at Metrolina Inspection Services. Dave did a fantastic inspection at the first home and so I used him again. He found major problems including structure, HVAC, electrical and plumbing to the tune of $25,000. Thankfully, the seller's wanted to make sure the home would be safe and agreed. Then Dave came back for a re-inspection and found that a large majority of the work had not been completed. Afterwards, that was taken care of too! I've been in real Estate since 2004 and I expect the best so I highly, strongly recommend Dave Hahn if you ever need a Home Inspection. We had our home Inspected from pre-drywall to completion. The owner Dave was wonderful and thorough! He’s very knowledgeable and goes the extra mile to ensure he gets adequate information from the vendors our builder used. For example our tankless water heater installation was questionable, Dave contacted the manufacture to ensure it been installed properly. Because of his efforts we found the builder hadn’t installed out tankless water heater properly. I feel its very important to have inspections from the foundation to completion and Dave is your guy at Metrolina inspection services to do it all!!!

Dave was professional and detailed. He let us know all fees ahead of time. There were no surprises. His inspection was detailed and thorough. He was hesitant to go into the attic because he wasn't comfortable that he could enter the access safely. We didn't want him to endanger himself, however, he didn't offer us alternatives, such as reducing his fee so we could pay a collegue who would fit into the access. After we pursued the issue with him, asking hiim to find a solution, he decided to risk entry into the attic himself. He entered the attic and completed the inspection. Dave could not be there at the appointed time. However, he called us and let us know this in a timely manner, and got to us as quickly as possible. It turned out his delay was due to taking care of a sick child. I greatly respect a family man who puts his children first! I don't know if his prices are fair or not. My take is that the home isnpection and the radon testing were fair (I asked my realtor). However, it seemed to me that the additional charges for the detached garage and the outbuilding were high. Since we had to pay extra for these inspections, I felt the reports for these things should have arrived with the rest of the report. However, they were detailed quite a while afterwards, and we had already entered negotiations with the sellers by the time they arrived. I also didn't like having to pay an extra $25.00 courtesy of waiting for closing to pay. I've bought and sold a number of houses and have always paid these fees at closing. I've had inspectors ask for credit card information in case the house did not end up closing, but I don't recall having to pay extra. All in all, I would recommend this inspector, because he got the job done in a thorough and professional manner. The report was incredibly detailed. I feel comfortable that we know everything we need to know about the house before buying it, and his report has been an important tool in the purchase of our home. As of today, we are on track to close on the original closing date.

I worked with Dave Hahn. He was very responsive via email setting up the appointment. He went above and beyond answering all questions, even showed us a new site where we could find additional information on our house! He showed up early to the inspection, explained the process and walked us through some of the key findings as he was doing the inspection so that we fully understood the issues, the ramifications, the solutions that should be offered to us and what the best practices were. He walked us through all of the major items he found after completion, the whole inspection took about 3-4 hours but we were not required to be present walking around with him as he got into all types of crevices! Extremely thorough review. It did take us a couple weeks to actually receive our full report but it was so thorough that it really was worth the wait. The report included pictures that he took of items of concern, explained each area that was part of the inspection,(whether there was an issue in that section or not), and just as Dave did while he was with us, it explained what to bring up to our developer and warranty contractors, what answers should be sought and what best practices for that situation were. Absolutely fabulous service. I do wish that our report had stayed on their file server a bit longer. It's so large that it cannot be emailed but it is only active online for 14 days. I recommend downloading and saving the file as soon as you get it. I emailed the link and login to my developer but by the time they opened it was gone. I am emailing them now to see if they can add it back, I'm sure it's possible :)   <br /> The price overall for this type of service is really jarring any way you slice it but for the quality of work and peace of mind, it really is worth it. In this case, all repairs are covered under my warranty with my developer so paying this cost was well worth it for identifying things for them to fix that we don't have to pay for! <br />

Dave arrived promptly.  He listened carefully as I explained that I am not planning to sell my 18 year old house anytime soon but since I plan to update my kitchen, I want to know if there are significant repair or maintenance issues I should take care of beforehand.  For example, someone told me that the crawlspace was excessively humid and that they could install a dehumidifier and make other repairs to fix this.  Dave gave me a well organized, straightforward and comprehensive review of everything a homeowner should  know about crawlspace humidity and crawlspaces in general even before he started the inspection.  He did that with a number of issues with my house and houses in general.    He spent almost 4 hours inspecting the house from top to bottom - literally.  As he did, if he noticed something he was going to include in the report, he brought it to my attention, explained the issue and took the time to thoroughly answer all of my questions until I understood his finding.  Soon thereafter, he provided an extremely comprehensive report outlining everything he observed.  I contacted him more than once afterward with questions and he patiently and thoroughly answered them all.  Dave is a true professional and I will wholeheartedly recommend him to anyone who asks. <br />

The two main things about this guy: He has your back as a buyer and he is <strong>VERY</strong> thorough. We were in an interesting situation where the seller was trying to pass off some major discovered issues as "minor" and Dave was not having it. He found every single issue in the home and even surprised our realtor with some of his discoveries. His report was extremely detailed, included pictures of all incidents, and fully listed ramifications of having such issues with a house. <br /> Dave was able to get a quick report over to the sellers and also took time to speak with me over the phone to explain what I could expect to fix down the road if these issues were not addressed. He checked every single issue on the list for me during reinspection and followed up with another full report. I am sure the seller was not too pleased with having to fix issues again, but I sure appreciated having someone on my side to make sure I wasn't stepping into my first home and losing my savings on it. I highly recommend Dave as he will shoot it to you straight and will not let any violations slip away. <br />

Terrific.  Dave went through the condo and thoroughly inspected the details of each room.  I was there during Dave's inspection and he didn't just note issues that needed repair but he also made recommendations and provided guidance on things to consider or remedy along the way.  I've been through several home inspections and this one was the best! <br />
