The technician, Oscar, was very nice. I signed up for a routine pump out ($500). Oscar dug out the access port to the septic tank and showed me that it was in worse shape than I thought. He explained that he would need to mix the tank to break up the sludge ($200). He also offered a Hydro-Jet service to clean out the pipes leading to the leaching field. The house is 25 years old so I figured it would be smart ($800). When he finished, he showed me the filter which was badly clogged. He recommended a new filter ($200) and suggested that I clean it out every 3 months. Grand total $1700, which I didn?t mind. After the service I started researching how to install a riser which would allow me easy access for the filter cleanings. To my surprise I learned that septic tanks have TWO chambers with TWO access ports. I called Septic Blue and they agreed that only pumping out one chamber is not adequate. The service was not complete. They sent Oscar out to finish the job. No problem.

Prompt, polite, but cost was higher than expected. Job required a two man crew instead of one.

They did a good job cleaning out our septic. I felt is was a bit of an overcharge of about additional $800 for powe washing out the line between the two tanks and the line into the drain field. I felt it was necessary so I approved it anyway. The rest of the service was great.
