MGR did a phenomenal job aiding us through 2 bathroom remodels. They provided great quality work at fair prices. Communication was great and they were super friendly. I have spoken to many plumbers for a long time planning this work. MGR Plumbing was recommended in Nextdoor.com (as were others). I found Damian to be authentic and professional. He stood out from the others. He was in the neighborhood. I am a Realtor and I have access to many professionals. We found MGR Plumbing Services through Angie’s List in January this year, where it appeared listed with a category A under 124 reviews. Subsequently, we hired MGR for a complete renovation of our plumbing system in a 1,200 sq ft condominium in Oakland Park City. In addition, we requested to include a filtration system, which to this date, it has not been clear whether it met our needs. Even though MGR passed the final Buiding Department’s inspection after sixteen weeks of renovations; upon our arrival April 29, we discovered there were two leaks in the drain pipes. To our disappointment, it took another four service calls to determine that MGR just could not solve the problems behind these leaks. We took the time to give MGR the entire road map to their failings, upon which MGR’s owner had deflected repeatedly. For instance: Although, we provided an in-situ outline of the MB vanity, including specs regarding its installation well before walls and tiles had been applied, there was no effort on the part of MGR to rectify the pipe layout before the vanity was installed, ie: where one of the leaks remained unsolved for over two weeks until we hired a different plumbing service. After an expensive renovation budget for MGR’s services—including a tankless heater unsuited for a condominium’s amperage—, the learning curve for MGR was treacherous enough to our pocketbooks. So we sought out an independent evaluation, to which MGR responded that it had not been “allowed” to provide the proper service (adding insult to our grievances). All along, they thought to deserve every dispensation while we were accused for causing our problems. However, the persistent lack of awareness on the part of MGR over an extended period of time was irrefutable. Therefore, a review was worthwhile to benefit unsuspecting clients.

I cannot recommend MGR Plumbing enough. My experience was amazing!! Professional, amazing customer service, made the changes quickly, good rate. First of all, setting up the appointment was a breeze. Derric helped figure out what the issue was even before the technician came to my house. I sent him videos/pictures of my shower and just by looking at it he knew that we had to change the shower tower for a new one. The supervisor came in and installed it. The glue caused the shower to move a bit, and the owner came back and fixed it himself! I didn't get charged until I was 100% satisfied with my shower tower. They are awesome!!! Will totally call them back if I need them - hopefully I won't need them again hahah :).

It’s unfortunate that I have to write this review. I contacted this company to have my electric tankless water heater installed. Damien quickly responded and set me up for a weekend appointment with his plumber and also an electrician. It cost $750 for their plumbing services and $450 for the (separate) electric services. Everything went well that morning when it was installed. But later I opened the pamphlet that came with the water heater I purchased and read that the water heater needed to be installed with copper piping instead of the flexible shark bites that the that they used. I contacted Damian to tell him the situation and took another look at the tank and noticed it was now leaking. At first Damien seemed receptive and accepting responsibility for the issue even asking how I would like this to be resolved. He tried to tell me that they were “expensive” parts, that he would also want copper to be installed, that the way they did it was still “to code” and that they do it so often they no longer need to read the directions for the product they are installing. A quick Google showed me the “expensive” parts were $40. I requested that he send someone to my house to do the job properly. He sent the same tech out and that tech tried for about 5 minutes and then tried to tell me it couldn’t be done because the copper pipe couldn’t “fit” in the tankless. I am not a plumber so I accepted this response. A week later I called Terry’s plumbing after consulting a plumbing forum online (where over 15 plumbers told me the install was wrong after posting images) and a plumber came out and without even seeing the information that came with the tankless knew it was installed incorrectly. He asked where were the compression pieces that came with the tankless, and I had no idea. Those were what would have made the copper pipes fit. He also showed me that the bends in the shark bites were incorrect and that without compression this is a faulty install. This will probably void the warranty I have on the tankless. The plumber from Terry’s was able to install this correctly without shark bites using the correct copper pipes without a problem. Plumbers like this are why Angie’s list exists in the first place. They have absolutely no integrity and don’t care if what they have done is incorrect because they are counting on your ignorance on the subject. I am out $750 for an incorrect install. Do yourself a favor and do not take a chance on this company. I fully expect Damian to reply to this review again acting as if he is a victim as he seems to do to with all of his F grades on Angie’s list. Do not take the bait. I’m not a difficult customer and just wanted a correct installation. I am thankful this didn’t leak, break, or cause other issues because god knows what kind of response I would have gotten from this company. Buyer beware.

For starters I was charged $450 to re-install an existing toilet, this is job that should has costed $185.00 tops. The job was supposed to cost $100, but then the plumber said that I needed a new flange, hence the additional $350.00 for a 4.00 part. The person that came didn’t seem to know what he was doing, he took over three hours to complete the job. I was so concerned that he didn’t know what he was doing that had to ask him to leave that I would pay for the job but please leave. He refused to leave and instead called for reinforcements Including the owner. It turned out that he was trying to screw a screw without removing the old one. I was so frustrated that I just paid whatever the person charged (I just wanted him out of my house). But now That I ti replaced two additional toilets with another company I realized how much I was taken advantage of by MGR plumbing (maybe because I am a woman) and it would be irresponsible not to include this review in AL.

"I think you were a little unfair in your review of my company. You had problems with a leaking toilet. We thought you would need to just replace the wax ring. Not the case, your flange was broken! It needed to be replaced. So extra time and money was needed for the repair. I'm sure the other company's didn't need to replace the flanges on the other toilets. We were on time for our appt, virtuous and charged a fair price for the time that it took to make the repair. To give us all F's even thou you were not totally happy is in fair. And is the problem fixed? Yes! I constantly do training with my personnel in communicating and on the job training to make them more professional. I am sorry that you were not completely satisfied with our job that we completed. Given another change I'm sure we would exceed your expectations"

If you want to get overcharged, use this company. I had them fix my toilet in Dec and they charged $ 100 for 1/2 hr work which was reasonable. In May I wanted them to fix a different toilet . It took about 3 minutes to fix and they charged $ 145 !!!. I complained to no avail.

With most service companies the first hour is charged a minimum amount to just cover the over head of running a business. It cost money just to get a service person to your door. The service tech that came to your home has 30 years of experience, would you agree that a person with that much experience could do a job quicker than one with much less! So if you called someone else and it took longer you would feel better about how much you paid. You could call a handyman that doesn't have insurance, training or experience and pay a lot less. If you would trust your biggest investment to someone like that I wish you luck. Again I do apologize for not making you feel like you received your money's worth."

I called Damon on Friday and set up an appointment for Monday morning. I called Damon in the morning just to verify he was coming out and he was already in his truck and on route. He arrived right on time and checked everything. Water meter, sprinkler pipes and mainline. He dug a few holes to check everything. There were no leaks anywhere.He concluded I was watering my lawn way too often. I had a feeling that was the problem, but I didn’t think my house would leak from watering too much? I was waiting for Damon to give me a big bill. But he didn’t! $69 that was it. He cleaned up and put everything back. Kudos to Damon for a job well done. I found a plumber and I will highly recommend him.

Plumber arrived perfectly on time at 9AM and took care of all that I needed done by 11:00. I will have MGR back soon once I need a kitchen sink and disposal installed following new kitchen countertop installation.

He got here early, that was nice. He took less than an 1/2 an hour to change the hose in my kitchen faucet. I will not use them again. I had been quoted one price but was told after the job was done, he had to charge me $50 more, that it was very hard to change.

The team at MGR was the fastest on Angies list to respond, their diagnosis helped me quickly get a water restoration team out to my house to dry up the area / remove bad flooring, and they had the plumbing fixed and rerouted within 24 hours. Damien was super responsive despite multiple other critical projects he was working on, and i was extremely impressed with their work. I recommend without reservation!
