A much more pleasant experience than what I would encounter throughout the course of building the addition. Chris was very responsive to my questions and knowledgeable pertaining to the best products and materials to use both on the inside, and outside of the addition. His price was more than reasonable for the amount of work that needed to be done. And estimate was extremely detailed and broken down for us. They worked very efficiently. They focused on the outside of the addition, and performed interior work on 3 rain days that landed in the middle of our schedule. No time was lost. The place looks amazing and he provided a 5 year warranty on labor for the exterior of the addition. We will be having him repaint the exterior of the rest if the house this summer. I would not hesitate to rehire or recommend CSP Contracting to any of my family or friends!

CSP Contracting was recommended to me by a friend. We called to have some work done on a budget and we were not disappointed. Chris gave us a price that was more then fair and performed all work in a very professional manner. We used several different colors on the interior, and they all came out great! He also repainted a small deck and shutters. Work was done fast and looks great! We will definitely call again for any future needs.

It's was a great experience. Chris (the owner) was very responsive prior to meeting and early for the initial appointment to look at the job. He was very easy to talk to and understand in communicating the best way to get the work done and what materials should be used. We had out estimate that evening, and chose CSP Contracting out of the 4 estimates we received. His price was not the lowest, but it was not the highest either. We were scheduled two weeks out and Chris was in communication with us in the days prior to starting. Chris repaired and repainted the entire office with two coats of paint in three days, including the exterior doors (one day ahead of schedule). It was professionally done and looks amazing! We will be calling CSP Contracting to repaint the outside of the building in April.

At first, our experience with CSP Contracting was good. We were disappointed that Chris Parkhurst (owner) had not yet obtained a license for contracting in James City County (where we live) but we were able to obtain the building permit easily on our own. The deck he built looked beautiful and met our expectations - until the James City County inspectors came to do the second and final inspections. Chris signed as part of our contract that he would follow the JCC building requirements and I printed and gave him a copy of the booklet JCC requires deck builders to follow. Unfortunately, the deck failed the inspection on multiple (6) accounts. <br /> As an example, the stairs are different heights - the bottom one is 6" and the top one is 8". My elderly mother-in-law just fell down the stairs because of this disparity!!!!! (this was one of the issues which failed during the JCC inspection) <br /> Chris was notified multiple times by my husband and I that he needed to come repair the deck so it would pass the inspection. He agreed that he would come back to fix it in "a week" after he finished another project. He never showed up. Since October, we have attempted to email and call Chris multiple times and he has not responded once. According to JCC, the deck needs to be completely re-built because he didn't frame it correctly. <br /> Upon close inspection, while the deck looks nice, there are places where the wood is separating from the boards because he used glue instead of screws. <br /> Additionally, he was supposed to come back and stain the deck as well. He never showed up for this appointment either. We don't know what's going on but will be contacting the Better Business Bureau and the VA licensing bureau for his contractor's license because he has not fulfilled his contract, nor has he built us a safe product. <br />

CSP continues to be the company I call when I need exterior or interior handy-work completed. Chris and his team came out on a weekend to ensure we didn't have to wait weeks to get on their schedule. As usual, CSP did an outstanding job, and I would rate them higher than an A if possible, and give them extra credit points for "Punctuality" and "Responsiveness" <br />

CSP was great. We could not be more pleased with the work they did for us. Chris (the owner) and Wayne did a fantastic job. We had a big job that took all week and they were up to the task. This job involved a bit of everything - painting, carpentry, replacing doors, just to name a few of things they did. They arrived on-time every day and worked very hard all day long. They were also very friendly and were willing to answer any questions we had. When issues arose, such as wood rot or an issue with a door frame, Chris explained what was wrong and the different ways it could be fixed but the decision was ultimately ours. Their prices were very reasonable as well and Chris kept all receipts to show how much the parts cost. Chris and Wayne both cared about doing a great job and it shows in the final product - several neighbors have complimented us on how great our house looks (and several stopped by and got their business cards). At the end of each day, they ensured the job site was clean and free of any equipment or debris. We would highly recommend CSP for any job you may need - you will not find a better company to do what you need done. We will be using CSP for many projects in the future. <br />

From the estimate to completion, CSP Contracting more than exceeded our expectations. The old adage "you get what you pay for" applies here, and we got our money's worth! Chris and his crew were a great blend of personable and professional. I can't say enough about the quality and attention to detail. Our house is a 1936 shingle Tudor with dozens of layers of paint, so the prep work was extensive. They took an entire day to power wash the house and scrape. Always concerned about the weather, the crew worked over a weekend to complete the project before rain came the following week. From power was day to completion day the project took a total of 6 days. We noticed a couple of extremely minor issues, and Chris corrected them quickly. When the paint store put in the wrong formula for our door paint, Chris had that corrected within the hour and repainted the door without increasing the cost. <br /> Speaking of cost, the estimate is excellent. Each item is broken out by material cost and labor cost. We chose to eliminate a couple of items, making the estimate adjustment easy. There are no hidden costs, because the estimate lays things out so plainly. <br /> The final product is beautiful. I've been raving about our house, saying it looks like it's wearing a new suit. This is the first time I've been able to give a perfect review on Angie's List, and Chris and his crew deserve it!

Painting last summer went well and we were very satisfied with the professionalism and punctuality. This spring, paint began peeling on metal roof in some places and I sent Chris an email asking him to contact me on April 16, 2014. No response. Called him 3 weeks ago and left message. No response. Called a week ago and no response. I have a contract with a two year warranty and the peeling paint should be corrected. I have no idea what's going on with this company, but I can't recommend contacting them until they honor their warranty. <br />

<p>After talking with Chris, the co-owner I was turned over to Josh Klochak his partner. I found Josh tremendously responsive, and indeed throughout the contract, found him and his crew to be concerned for doing an excellent job, addressing any concerns that I had. I was particularly impressed with the detail that Josh put into the contract. It was fully delineated so that there was not any discrepancy as to what the scope of work was and what his responsibility and individual costs would be. EXCELLENT job! Chris was one of the few contractors I sent messages to that responded, and he followed through. Our home is quite some distance for he and his crew, and he accepted my photos and measurements to get me a quote very quickly. he started very quickly the following week! He came in and power washed the deck and porch, and set it up for his crew to come the next day and start painting. The team member that came the next day was right on time, and got started right away on the white trim on the rails and banisters, and painted until he ran out! The next day, Chris arrived bright and early, and took my color sample over to get the solid stain mixed for the deck and porch vertical surfaces. With three of them working diligently in the heat, they finished up all the deck, front porch, and did all their clean up that day - and the deck and porch look incredible! <br />

CPS were quick, easy to work with. Went beyond the cleaning by pressure washing our sidewalk that led to the front door. They finished the painting and cleaning quickly. We still have shutters that need to be replaced but Chris is getting them taken care of. Overall very happy with their performance. Would use again. <br />

fOn the whole, this company performed the work asked in a competent manner. Difficulties arose partly because we were trying to prepare a house for sale that was some distance from the community in which we live. CSP did an excellent job sending us pictures of the work as it was being done and kept in contact with us at all times. In spite of best efforts on both sides, some miscommunication still occurred. However, we worked through the problems and came out with a reasonable finished product. CSP provided us with a very detailed, professional contract. In spite of that, I assumed that painting the kitchen meant the cabinets too (my fault) and that painting the closets meant the shelves too. CSP did try to give us some breaks such as painting around the kitchen cabinets. Chris was very polite, patient, and flexible. A little more attention to detail and less rushing to get things done in a short amount of time would have made the experience less stressful given that we were trying to do this from far away. <br />

This was a first rate service. Chris was very responsive and returned phone calls and scheduled the work needed promptly, the crew showed up on time, did a good job, were courteous and professional. Chris came back the next day (Sunday) to touch up a couple of places. I am very satisfied and wish this fine young crew the best. One of the best painting contractors I have ever used. <p>CSP was not only able to complete the job a day ahead of schedule, but they were able to accomplished it with outstanding results. The crew was courteous and highly professional. Chris is very responsive and is easy to work with. We were having exterior painting done and the weather wasn't always cooperative but they worked every opportunity and got our project done quickly and professionally, even with additional work that I requested. There was an area that didn't turn out as well as it should have and he is refunding the cost of that as we agreed. This was due to heavy sudden rain which was unfortunate but probably unavoidable.

These guys did a terrific job. Our house is particularly challenging...3 stories with narrow alleys. Several companies turned down the job...too hard. Chris is a terrific manager, and every member of his crew is courteous and skilled. My neighbor is researching a similar job, and I didn't hesitate to endorse CSP.

I called CSP contracting for an estimate on paining the exterior trim, windows, shutters, and fence. Chris, the owner, came out the next day to give an estimate. He later emailed a detailed quote and a fair price. <br /> Chris and his crew did an awesome job. They accommodated additional requests and were professional, efficient and even worked in cold conditions to complete the job. We would recommend CSP.

We could not ask for a better group of guys to paint our house. They arrived on time, they called when they would be late or cancel due to rain, they worked very well together and they worked well with us, We chose a color from Benjamin Moore and Chris Parkhurst, one of the owners, usually uses another brand of paint. He took the time to contact a Benjamin Moore rep to discuss the paint quality, making sure that he used the proper grade so he could offer a 5-year warranty. <br /> This project also included two additional addendum to the contract. The original contract included repair to some siding and repair to two window sills. We doubled the amount of siding to repair, added the repair of a roof rafter and the replacement of a long window sill. Chris also replaced two broken storm windows and painted the front porch deck. He provided a quote and then a written change to the contract that we both signed. <br /> Chris did underestimate the amount of paint needed for the siding and we paid for the additional paint, but he stood by his labor quote. He estimated about 10 days for both coats of paint and the repairs and he came in on schedule, allowing for four days lost due to weather and the holiday. To stay on schedule they worked the weekend after Thanksgiving. <br /> Chris worked on site everyday with the crew making it easy discuss the small questions that always surface during a project. <br /> We would recommend Coastal CSP and plan to call on them again in the near future. <br />

The painting was professionally done, the tile work was okay, the fan is secure, the pressure washing was very well done. However, they informed me that the screened porch was not included in their definition of house and would not be power washed. Fortunately, after I showed Chris how badly it needed the power washing and told him that every previous time I had the house power washed, it was included (at a rate quite a bit lower than Coastal CSP charged), he personally power washed it for me. I asked for an estimate to paint the entire house, but never received one. I am, instead, going with a painter recommended by friends who is very responsive, quite prompt and extremely reasonable. <br />

They were on time every time. When rain was a issue, Chris called and rescheduled timely. The work was performed in a professional manner. The painters did a exceptional job. They were very helpful by removing and replacing the front porch & rear deck furniture at the end of each business day. Their estimate was through and the work was performed as listed. On the final day, they did a walk around and corrected any needed touch-ups required. Overall they did a great Job! <br />

I contacted CSP Inc., spoke to Chris and he came out the next day to give me an estimate. He was detailed in his observations and recommendations. I was impressed with his honesty and candidness regarding all the work that the exterior of my house needed and the 5-7 day time frame in which it could be completed. Chris emailed the estimate to me. Although I didn't get a second estimate, I think his price was fair given the amount of work. Chris and his team of two arrived the day after I accepted the estimate and began work. They were professional and congenial and worked very well together. They worked steadily daily from 0800 to 1600 with a short lunch break. Everyday I could see improvement to my home. They worked on my home even while I was out of town for a long weekend. And even brought my empty trash container away from the curb while I was gone. I am completely satisfied with the quality of work done and how my house looks now. Two storm windows were cracked in the process. Chris took the windows, had the glass replaced and brought them back the next day. He also gave me the left over paint so I could do touch ups as required in the future. <br />
