I hired Michael's Plumbing to fix a toilet that was constantly running. After they performed the initial repairs on 02/13/2018 (replacing various parts) the problem persisted. My tenant called them and they returned twice but the problem was not fixed. My tenant and I called at least 5 times and no one called us back until I posted negative reviews. After that, someone called and advised that the toilet is old and can't be repaired and they would replace it with a newer model toilet at no additional cost. They apologized for the failure to communicate this information. The new toilet was installed on 04/28/2018 and so far it is working great.

Our experience with Michael's Plumbing Service couldn't have been better. They were able to come just a few hours after I placed the call at a time that was convenient for my family. They quoted a price (which was lower than the others I had called) and even when the problem turned out to require a bit more work, they did not charge extra for it. They were quick, very friendly and professional, and thorough in their inspection and repair. Josh even took the time to make sure we knew where our water shut off valve was in the house in case we ever needed it and made sure we had no further questions before they left. They also happily accepted the Angie's List coupon we presented. So happy to have found them and will absolutely call or refer them next time we or someone we know needs plumbing help!

We had a great experience with Michael's Plumbing! We called to get an estimate on fixing our outdoor spigots and a very nice guy named Michael came out the next day to give us a fair price estimate & go ahead with fixing the problems. Michael got the job done quickly & efficiently, and explained everything he was doing throughout the process. I would definitely recommend Michael's Plumbing!

I phoned mid-morning and said I needed same-day service The plumber arrived at the front end of a two-hour window (1-3 p.m.) and completed the job in about three hours at the low end of the cost estimate provided to me. This is a rental property so I did not see the work done but my tenant has hot water again so I deem this a success.

The technician provided the "half an hour" out call. He actually arrived over an hour later. The service was promised to take 20 minutes tops. Over an hour later, my bathroom is flooded but at least the toilet flushes now.

We called on a Saturday and left two messages on what seemed to be their emergency response line, no callback. We had used them before for a large job just a month ago so I had one of their plumbers' numbers, texted him and never got a reply. Finally on Monday I got a response - if this had been a larger leak I would have stopped right here and called a more responsive plumber. We were contacted on Monday and they said they could come out that afternoon, I met them at my house within the contact window and got several notices they were coming via email and phone call. They were prompt and responsive once we got them on the job. Two plumbers came out; the lead plumber said he could replace the valve, but then said that they really should replace both hot and cold valves since they both were old. He gave me two quotes, one where he replaced just the leaky valve and the faucet install and it was somewhere around $325(!) - the second where he did both and the faucet for $275. Both of these were more than I wanted to spend and I was pretty confident about my ability to replace the faucet, so I said specifically "I want you to only replace the hot water valve, nothing else". According to the itemization on the receipt, this should have been around $160 or so. They go get parts and get to work on it, but then after a little while they ask me about re-using the faucet, if they could damage it to get it off. I was definitely confused and alarmed at this point, they were supposed to just be replacing one valve - I come into the kitchen and they had started pulling out the old faucet and already pulled off the old lines that came up from the valves and effectively damaged it to the point that we had to proceed with the new faucet. I was upset about this and they offered to discount the total price by $50 to compensate for the misunderstanding if we proceeded with the faucet replacement; apparently he had thought I was going with their first quote. He went ahead and put in the new faucet and new lines up to it from the valves, and replaced just the one broken valve. I was glad to have the new lines put in as they were more secure and the work was done neatly. I did have the wrong faucet type (no sprayer). and had to go back myself and swap that out after they left, but that was my fault for purchasing the wrong type - a warning would have been nice, but they did what I asked and I can't fault that. Overall, I was put off by the "upsell" nature of the call - it felt like they were adding work to bump up the price and I have already spent nearly $4000 with them replacing pipes this year, so that felt like they were trying to just milk me. And while I think it was a mistake and the guy really just didn't hear what I said, I ended up ultimately paying for work I didn't really want done - it was discounted enough that I wasn't too upset though. Michael's has never been the cheapest option but they do good work, so I didn't mind getting my major pipes replaced through them. I don't think I will call them for smaller service issues again though, and it seems I can't rely on weekend service from them in an emergency.

The work went well. It took two visits to get all of the work complete, but worth the wait because the work was completed above and beyond my expectations. The day before they came back I found a leak in a bathroom sink, and they took care of that before they left for the day. Our communication between the visits was a little less than stellar, but as we have worked with them before I felt confident that they would meet my expectations. All pipes replaced, and we have a new drain for when we want to add on the third bathroom.

Very fast and efficient response and work. Not extremely cheap but they gave me a discount on the second faucet, and it was great anyway considering how fast they responded and did it. It took less than two hours from my call to all the work done. We will definitely use this service again.

I hired Michael’s plumbing to install an electric Tankless water heater on October 18th. The biggest part of the work was done by Barnes Electric Service, which went fine. The plumbing part was done by Ryan of Michael’s Plumbing. This required removal of the old tank heater and mounting the new tankless on the wall and hooking up to the water supply with Isolator/Service valves. I also ask them to install an Aqua-Filter. They seem to understand how to do this and indicated they had experience installing these type of water heaters. I ask them for a break down in cost, which they said they would email, but never did. They did not install the Isolator/Service valves and installed the Aqua-Filter adapter upside down. I informed them of these problems and at first they wanted to charge me to come back, but eventually agreed to fix these issues at no charge. Several weeks went by, with them not returning phone calls. Finally got a call saying they were waiting on the Service valves to come in. (This is a common part and not difficult to find- see Amazon link below). [*** Link removed ***] More weeks go by, finally they scheduled an appointment, things seem to be looking up, but they didn't show and there was no phone call saying why. At this point it’s been over 6 weeks and nothing has been resolved. Since they weren’t returning phone calls, I decide to send an email, saying it was clear they didn’t wish to fix their mistakes and that I would be contacting the owner of the company,. Within a few minutes a call comes in saying they found the Service valves. Another appointment was set up. Ryan showed this time. This was on December 7th, seven weeks after the initial install was done. I got home to see that he did install the Service valves, but left it with the connection leaking and the Aqua-Filter adapter still upside down (see attached pictures). Called to let them know there were still problems, have yet to hear from them. This company clearly does not stand behind their work.

Backflow unit split last winter due to freeze. Hired this plumber to repair. New main backflow unit fine, but plumber's use of pipe thread tape not adequate. Sprang a leak within the tape, called same plumber to repair the repair. He came and filled leak with type of plumbing cement. Globbed on there. That sprang a leak. Hired another plumber who replaced pipe and cleaned up the system. Have sent my bill for second plumber $110 to this first plumber who has yet to reimburse me.

After confirming that the problem was not a clogged vent, the smell was corrected by revising the sink/laundry drain setup and installing an air admittance valve. The attempt to mechanically clear the drainage problem did not go well, perhaps because of a "p-trap" configuration, but several other plumbers have been able to clear the line previously. A camera in the line showed possible corrosion in the trap. The modifications seem pretty simple, and we eventually got better drainage using a commercial chemical product. Although the service person appeared thorough, the price was surprisingly high for the incomplete result.

It went great. He explained exactly what needed to be done and did it quickly. Discussed adding a shut off inside in the house but was not pressured to do it. Did not hassle me when I changed my mind. Called them later to fix a wobbly commode. Not only did they fix it but replaced a part inside for no additional cost. i highly recommend Michael's. They make suggestions without the scare tactic, and they are dependable and trustworthy: which are hard to find.

It was an A++++++++ experience. I couldn't be happier. Prompt attention to my problem, a technician with excellent technical and people skills and an extremely reasonable cost of repair. I am left with the feeling that I was back in the wonderful 1950s, when the plumber you went to church with came over and fixed a problem you were having. Michael's is my plumbing "go to" company from here on out.

Very well, Ryan was courteous and professional. They did have to reschedule my appointment from this morning but they came after 5pm as promised. The problem was resolved with a clear explanation of the issue, they also quoted me a reasonable price for a much larger job that we are looking at in the future. I was very happy with their service and their demeanor, we will definitely use them in the future.
