Aloha, we are an intimate, full service, home and building company. Mid Pac Services has a crew of 6 individuals and tries to keep most of our services within our company. We are licensed and insured and have been in business in the islands for over 20 yrs. We are registered with The Hawaii BBB with an A+ rating and among Angies list, we can also be reviewed through Home Depot's Red Beacon, and our personal web site. We accept cash and credit cards.

BJ and his crew from Mid Pac Services did a fantastic job over a period of 6 months. In addition to all the actual work they were also extremely helpful and professional in providing support and advice when it came to choosing vendors and providers and were there to receive the material and appliances if we were not able to receive. All the crew members were professional, punctual and very friendly; it was a pleasure to deal with BJ and all the crew members!

BJ did an overall excellent job on the remodel. He communicated with me every morning about what was to happen that day. His crew was on time and did the work in a professional manner. The quality of the work was excellent throughout the project. Once the job started, I requested some additional work to be done. BJ was able to complete the additional work without any delays. BJ invited me to dinner one night with some of his crew to watch the NBA finals at one of the local resorts. I enjoyed BJ and his crew very much. My wife and I hope to hire BJ next year to remodel the upstairs bedroom and bath.

The project went perfect on a very strict timeline. They were able to come in on a 3 week timeline in between Thanksgiving and Christmas and deliver a finished project.

The two man crew who did the work were very knowledgeable, friendly, and professional. They didn't waste time or materials, and made sure I knew what all my options were and what they would cost before they ever set to work. I trusted them completely and will hire them again when I need to.

BJ is an honest contractor, something that is rare these day's. He and his crew are on time and they do what they say they are going to do. BJ goes above and beyond what is stated in the contract to come back and finish little details that aren't even required of him. He simply does the right thing for whatever the situation is. I am wishing now that I had taken before and after pictures but I simply did not. I highly recommend him for any job.

After pricing with over a dozen contracting companies, most of whom simply "flaked out" and stopped communicating or, in one case, left the island right after agreeing to start the project, I came across MIDPAC Services via a referral from HPM in Waimea. Always professional and honest, they were trustworthy on-site and were flexible in dealing with the state/county permitting process, which can be quite a headache. The pricing was excellent, and to keep the costs down standard materials were used, but the workmanship was good and BJ kept in regular touch via email, text and phone to keep us up-to-date on the project at all times and to manage the schedule. I would not hesitate to recommend MIDPAC Services to anyone, and you are very unlikely to find a better team for the price.

Mid PAC did a great job on fence rebuild. BJ is very good at communicating every step of the way. He is constantly checking up on his crew and is very detail oriented. I would definitely have them do more work for me.

BJ has a reliable crew of specialists who completed the work. Leif handled the plumbing expertly and efficiently, replacing the angle stops and supply lines under both bathroom sinks and replacing supply lines and shutoff valves for the washer. Graham was equally proficient removing the old bathroom fans, revising the supporting structure, and installing the new fans. He also revised the wiring for the fans, installed new bathroom wall switches, fixed the outlet for the washer/dryer, and replaced a breaker switch in the master electrical box. BJ and Josh then took care of drywall repairs and mudding in the bathrooms. Overall, the various jobs were completed well and in a reasonable time frame.

The wind on our house in Waimea is especially **** ** fences. They did an excellent job; the fences both look great & enhance the property value. The materials and workmanship are of the highest quality and the price gave us very good value. This was my second job working with Mid Pac Services and again they did not disappoint! BJ quoted a fair price to do the work. Due to there being a check-in soon, BJ was able to get the job done on short notice on time and on budget. I would not hesitate to recommend Mid Pac for any home improvement or handyman projects!

Not well. Started good, and then went down hill. missed days of work. When I complained, BJ response was I will pray for you. Work not done to contract. When I talked to him today, 12/2/16, He got mad when I told him work was not done to contract. I touched him and told him to pray for himself and he went nuts. I through him out of my house. "We are sorry that this very small, 3-4 week project turned out this way. It was not the best fit and we are saddened by the experience. Regarding the owners review, although he had a couple of criticisms that I will apply as constructive and helpful in the future, and it was appropriate to bring accountability to our delays in a couple of small instances, the overall short relationship was very concerning. The owner was regularly intoxicated as was observed by myself and my workers and we believed this negatively effected his ability to relate to personnel. He used profanity in the most extreme way regarding those on the job and took a very intimidating posture when confronting issues. In several conversations, subtle threats were made and I was concerned for the general moral of my workers and maybe even their safety. The owner even made inappropriate remarks about workers and the local Hawaiian culture which was offensive, though I doubt he was aware of the offense. In the end, it was not the criticism that I found unbearable, it was the verbal abuse that came with it, and after simply objecting to the owners putting his hands on me as he spoke, he told me to leave. In all my years as a contractor or a member of my community, I have never been so verbally assaulted or asked to leave a home. Nothing remotely close!! At no time did any of my workers or myself ever respond rudely, with inappropriate language, or rude behavior. I do not regret that I stood up to this behavior. I do care for this owner and with a genuine personal sincerity, I could only respond that, "I will pray for you" and I meant it and I did, and continue to pray for their household."

Mid Pac Services provided a competitive price to replace a water heater that was in a difficult spot made more difficult after a kitchen remodel. I had contacted another company to quote the job they refused because the heater was in a difficult location. Mid Pac was not scared off by this work. I was provided a time and material quote that was fair for the requested work. Due to the location of my water heater, I would have had to install a 50% smaller unit. I did not want to do that so I asked BJ if a tankless unit was a possibility. He understood my concern and prepared a revised quote on a Sunday. When the work began, I was kept apprised of the daily progress which was much appreciated since I was 5000 miles away at the time. Additional time was required to complete the job due to upgraded electrical wiring needed for the tankless heater. Once the job was complete, BJ contacted me to let me know there were punch list items be completed. These items could have easily been forgotten or not completed since I was not on island. BJ ensured the job was done right and all open items were completed to his satisfaction and mine. Now that I am on island, I can say the work looks great and the hot water is endless! My wife is also thrilled the job is done and with Mid Pac, there was no stress. As the saying goes, happy wife, happy life!

The work was done in a timely manner, the quality of the work was good, Care was taken with my property and any concerns and questions were addressed personally and with professionalism. Workers arrived on time and worked continuously throughout the day. While they (workers) were here they took few breaks and did not waste time. I am happy with the work and I have planned to work with MID PAC Services again in the future.

I've worked with a number of contractors (and served as my own contractor) on Hawaii. BJ is the best, in terms of quality of work, speed of work, communication, and responsiveness. He's awesome at communicating with remote customers, and emails extensive reports on progress multiple times / week, including pictures of progress. His prices are very fair, and we'll definitely use BJ and Mid Pac again.

The old windows in our condo in Hawaii were rusted and broken and while we were there we contacted Mid-Pac about replacing them with vinyl windows. Once the windows were ordered we worked together on a time plan for installation as there are renters there for part of the year. They kept in great contact with us so the install could go smooth. We were also provided with photos of the project as we are on the mainland. Our maintenance person on the island also checked on the work and verified that it looked awesome! We are very happy with the results and will be there soon to see the new windows. We wish we would have known about Mid-Pac when we had the kitchen remodeled, we did that through Lowes and it was a disaster. When we need any construction done in the future we will definitely use the Mid-Pac services, you can count on that.

Overall, I had a great experience with BJ and Mid Pac Services and would use them again for any future home improvement projects. <br /> <br /> At our initial meeting, I felt BJ was very thorough in asking what we were looking for, inspecting the proposed work area, taking pictures and measuring the space. He came up with several options for what we could and could not do, and we toyed around with some ideas. Ultimately, we agreed on a plan and he emailed me with a proposal, including specs, a timeframe, and costs. The process was very smooth and efficient which I liked given I could not devote all my time to this project. <br /> <br /> As the project progressed, naturally some unforeseen circumstances occurred (but that is to be expected with any project). BJ was great in showing me the problem, explaining the issues and proposing solutions. I appreciated BJ being available via email, phone, and text so that I could reach him with whatever questions I thought of afterwards. Eventually the issue was resolved (even though it delayed the project past the expected completion date). <br /> <br /> In summary, if you are looking for an honest, reliable and hardworking person, I highly recommend BJ and Mid Pac.

The original contract stipulated a completion time of "50-70 working days or 2.5-3 months" at a cost of $88,900 plus tax; it took over six months and cost over two and one-half times that much. While I did add items that consumed time and money, the contractor hired extra workers for those items and the costs skyrocketed. Much of that cost was due to change orders and upgrades, but much was due to slow and poor quality work that needed to be remediated, often more than once. The prime contractor's people would straggle in between 8:00 and 10:00 am and leave between 2:00 and 3:00 pm. With a half-hour for lunch, they might work only a four hour day. At the end of the day, we got a gorgeous remodel. The issues are that it took far too long and was way overpriced. <br />

"Regarding the concerns expressed in the review, we have learned: 1) The projects overall costs did exceed the initial contracted amount. We associated this mostly to an extensive amount of extra change work orders requested by the owner. However, we should have updated the owner on each extra change work request that was written and/or spoken. We have since then documented each change work order with our customers. 2) Although our time line and schedule was as contracted for the first 90 days, it was extended beyond the contracted time and what was comfortable to the owners. We associated this to the extensive amount of change work orders requested by the owner. We have since then held regular team meetings to update our team on regular deadlines and change work orders whereby giving them the overall scope of work and timelines. In conclusion, we are grateful for their business and value the chance to learn from this owners critique. We hope the concessions offered to the owners in the way of a small final discount, and reduced wages for final work, offered some consolation. we were glad to hear that the owners were happy with the end product."
