We had storm damage to our roof - a tree limb broke through part of it. We talked to insurance and they were going to cover replacing that section of the roof and the chimney that got hit, plus interior drywall damage. We got a few quotes, one of them Mid States Carpenters. When Judd came out, he said that insurance really should cover the whole roof, not just that section. He contacted my insurance directly and was able to convince them to cover the full roof and gutters too. They did a great job and used class 4 shingles. Very highly recommend.

We had a great experience with Mid States Carpenters. They provided us with a beautiful entrance to the front of our home, based on a design my husband, Bob, created. They went above and beyond what was expected to give us the look of a well built and finished deck style porch, giving the house excellent curb appeal! We have enjoyed the many compliments received from neighbors, family and friends. Most definitely have and will continue to shared Mid States Carpenters info with others!

Mid States Carpenters managed all aspects in replacing our roof ( supplies, types of material, clean up, etc.). In addition repairing wood damaged soffits and doors. The were especially helpful in understanding insurance claim information, timeliness, and details to complete the projects

Judd was great! Even in below freezing temperatures, he got my roof installed quickly and efficiently, and even let me borrow his kerosene heater to help warm the house up and hasten the shingles settling down into their proper position. *Edit* Couple of years after the roof was installed, and I gotta say, it still looks spectacular. I have absolutely zero complaints. Highly recommend.

My roof needed replaced due to hail damage. Judd was able to help me through the process and get the work done quickly. My new roof looks great. All work was performed according to the contract. The roofing crew was courteous and cleaned up the yard well when they were done. Judd was knowledgeable and worked with me and my claims adjuster to get all of my needs taken care of. I contacted other companies to bid the job and chose Mid States because of Judd.

Judd and his crew did a fantastic job. While inspecting the roof, Judd was able to identify a structural problem with our roof caused by the fireplace chimney. They were able to rebuild the chimney and replace support beams for our roof. His crew was then able to replace our shingles in under 5 hours.

It was very good. They clean up themselves after the service and got the job done quickly. They been good on checking back to see if everything was okay.

The service was excellent. It was a very professional job. They were efficient. They didnt take too long. It took them less than a week. They took off the entire shingles and prepared the new roof. The head of the company was there all the time and supervised his workers. They also cleaned up after. I was very happy with everything.

Judd provided three different estimates for different quality and style of shingles and stuck to the estimate for the one we chose. Some extra work was required to address some roof sheeting issues that existed when the house was built 22 years ago. Instead of just covering it up with new shingles they addressed the issues. Did a nice job of cleaning up too. We also had them replace skylights that had fogged over. Communication was great, Judd kept us informed of any issues and progress. Our roof does look amazing.

From the first contact to the end I was impressed with the responsiveness and professionalism that Mid States Carpenters exhibited. Our roof need to be replaced and due to the timing I was concerned about getting it done before the snow started and temperatures dropped. Mr Penny with Mid States Carpenters was quick to respond and was at my home with a crew in less than a week. Once the crew started my new roof was done in under 2 days, which I would like to add was the 23rd of December. Due to the urgency of the project the insurance claim did not get processed correctly so we were only getting a $300 reimbursement. When I told Mr. Penny about this he stepped in and spoke to the adjuster and provided additional details and photos. The insurance re-opened the claim and paid nearly 50% of the cost of the new roof. I am certain that without him going the extra mile for me I would have been out of luck. I would recommend Mid-States Carpenters to anyone and am so impressed by them that I have shared my experience with anyone that will listen. 5 stars isn't enough in my book.

The owner Judd Penny was referred to us as a general contractor. When we told him what we wanted he blew our expectations out of the water. Judd and his crew were there when they said they would be and finished the job as he said he would. His knowledge and professionalism was very impressive as was the finished product. Judd will be my first call on any project that we want done. He is highly recommended in my book!

We were very pleased with the work Judd and his crew did for us!! During our estimate Judd informed us that our shingles had melted to the roof due to no venting. He is an expert in venting since taking classes and being certified. He offered us a very good deal which included the new venting we needed. We also purchased the extended warranty which provides materials and labor at 100% Judd is very trustworthy. He has amazing integrity and will take great pride in the work he will do for you!!
