As you can see from the list above, the property was in poor condition when acquired.  It was actually much worse than the inspections revealed, as much of the damage could only be determined once the work had begun.  For example, there were many parts where the siding was covering holes (i.e. no plywood or tyvek behind it); the roof damage was far more extensive than could be seen; many walls in the additions to the house were not properly framed; the sub-floor on one addition was rotted, and the joists were under-size; the beam supporting the garage apartment was under-size. <br /> Although the house looked nice/had many nice features, it became evident that the work (additions and remodeling of the original house) had not been done by skilled or knowledgeable professionals, and had further deteriorated due to neglect and the weather. <br /> We closed on the property in mid-December and had a very tight schedule to meet for moving in. <br /> Mike Puckett and crew worked *through the Holidays* to ensure we met our schedule.  Throughout the process, he kept us well informed.  Whenever a new "surprise" came up (like the rotted subfloor) he made sure that we were aware of all our options.  I know enough about construction to understand that the cost quoted and options given were very honest.  I felt we received professional advice and first-rate work.  No up-sell/hard-sell/phony "problems" with Mike <br /> Here's what we think about Mike Puckett Contracting... after the repair/renovation work is complete, we'll have more work we want done (an additional garage, etc.) - we are not even going to shop this work around: it's going to Mike Puckett <br />

They showed up when they said they would, finished when they said they would, my patio looks awesome and I could actually afford it!!!

<p>When we bought our new home we wanted to get it updated from the get go.  I had several contractors come out to give estimates (I try to check around for the best price possible.)  Mike Puckket came out and gave me a an estimate that I was not excited about.  I did not call him back because his price was out of our range.  I had two other contractors give me a quote I was happy with and was in the process of deciding which one we were going to go with.  <br /> The same day I was getting ready to sign a contract with one contractor Mike called to ask if I had recieved his qoute.  I told him yes, but I was going to go with another contractor who had given me a good price.  He told me to email him the quote and said that he would knock off $1500 from the other contractor.  He called me back the next day and said he could only knock off $700.  That was fine with me so we went with Mike Puckket Contracting. <br /> We gave Mike Puckett Contracting about  20,000 for labor, building materials including our granite counter top, and cabinets.  For all the work they did they did a great job.  That price included plumbing and electrical work.  One of his workers (Joe) is a licensed electrician.  <br /> The reason I put 30,000 is because we bought all the stainless steel appliances, bathroom wall and floor tiles, kitchen floor tiles, backsplash tiles, the toilets, sinks, faucets, vanities, mirrors, light fixtures, bamboo flooring and underlay, trim, thresholds and other little things that added up in the end.  I have a lot of reciepts from Home Depot, where I was offered a job since I was there so much.  <br /> Mike Puckket contracting did a great job on our remodel.  The work they did was outstanding and I am very happy with the way our kitchen, master bathroom, masterbedroom, closet, powder room and hall bathroom look.  <br /> I will recommend them to my friends at work.  When they were done with thier work at our home yesterday and before they drove off Mike said, "If anything comes up, call me, and I'll come back and make sure its right."  That shows Mike really cares about what he does and does it because this is what he loves.  <br /> Mike Puckett will take care of you if you go with him.  He will give an honest price from the start and the work he does is of high</p>  quality.  He can give qoutes that include eveything and you will not have to purchase  a thing, or you can buy materials and he will quote you a labor cost.   Which ever works best for you. <br /> <br /> I wuold highly recommend him to anyone. <br />
