Millersville Plumbing Inc

We have used Millersville plumbing in the past for a complete water heater replacement and also a repair of a leaking pipe but my experience today was less than satisfactory. I was completely shocked by the $200 per hour charge and the $1000 bill ($800 for labor) that came with it. Afterwards I did research into the average cost per hour of plumbers in Maryland and found that was exceptionally high. Our complete cost to have both our water heater and leaking pipe replaced a few years ago was $655. Today we did have several pipe sections replaced and an outdoor faucet but with two employees I didn’t expect the cost to be so high. I was also charged for the 50 minutes it took them to leave and get supplies and an extra half hour to which they ended up working anyways due to a leak I found after they stated they were complete. I later called the owner to discuss the way they charge to see if the 50 minutes away was reasonable and got no call back. They had no problem cashing the check though.

Our Copper pipes sprang a pinhole leak over New Year’s weekend. We have used Millersville Plumbing in the past and called them again for this issue. The worker came out and cut away some drywall to find the leak. He found the leak promptly and patched it but advised us we would have to replace all of our existing copper pipes, which we did in the spring with another plumber since the Millersville plumber said that was something they didn't do. (Having just typed this review, I find it odd that they said they didn't replace water lines, when their website says that is something they specialize in.) When the weather warmed up this spring we realized that our air conditioner was not working. When the HVAC repairman came out he found that the wire between the thermostat and the air conditioner had been cut. The cut was right at the hole where the Millersville Plumber had cut with his saw. (The hole was still there due to the impending copper pipe replacement) Long story short $900 to have a new wire run and $400 to have the drywall patched over the new wire run. We tried to contact Millersville plumbing over this, assuming that they had some type of insurance that covered this type of accident. Starting the week of May 11, I began calling the Millersville Plumbing phone number weekly asking to speak to a manager. The person I spoke with would always hem and haw and say something to the effect of "neither of us knew the wire was there". I didn't even know the PIPE was there. That's why I called a professional! Over the next few weeks we would repeat the same phone call and I never heard from a manager. Until yesterday when the manager was the one who picked up the phone. Once I told him the story he gave me the same reply, "neither of us knew the wire was there". When I asked if they would help defray the repair cost at all, he just kept repeating "neither of us knew the wire was there". So I guess we will use a different plumber in the future. $1,300 lesson learned.

They showed up on time and got right to work. The actual installation went okay. They, however, did a very poor job of cleaning up behind themselves. Also, when they refilled the hole they dug it wasn't close to being level with the rest of the yard. Instead there was a very visible large mound of dirt. I contacted them a week or so after having the work done, to discuss a concern, and the person I spoke with completely blew me off and dismissed my concern. That is when they lost any opportunity for repeat business from me.

The work was excellent, they were professional and responsive. Jack Pumphrey is their regular plumber, and he was the one who came to install the pipe for me.

Timely and friendly service. Kyle arrived on time and fixed the problem.

They were very professional and efficient. I will use them again! Most importantly, they guaranty their work. No other plumber that I called acknowledged that they would do that.

Really well Had to open 3 area ’s of 2-floor walls and ceiling to access piping. Kyle and crew did a great job, in minimize disruption and complete the work.

Repair was done quickly

Great. They were there when they said they would be. The guys were very professional. The job was done in a timely manner and they cleaned up afterwards. They had to dig up the front garden and did a very good job putting things back the way they were with as little disturbance as possible.

The technician did a great job... found the leak we had already put 4 holes in the walls trying to find.

They were very responsive. Someone came out the same day I called to give me quote (a Thursday afternoon). They scheduled my repair for Monday, but I received a call late Friday morning that the job they were on was wrapping up early and they asked if they could come Friday instead. The job was completed in the time frame they stated and the charge was the price quoted.

Excellent. They said they could get out to see me in the morning, and it wound up being 7:30 AM! Perfect. Very knowledgeable and easy to understand what is facing my home with pinhole leaks. I always call these guys, and now I know why. They are dependable!

Guys replaced my kitchen faucet and bathroom spout because I am putting my home for sale. He was on time, polite, and did a great job. I would highly recommend. Will use again.

They did very well on that. They were very good, they were very responsive and did the work with no problem. I had another problem on something else and I needed the plumber to come. He stopped by, he talked to us, he couldn’t help us and he didn’t charge us any money, told us what to do and left. The price was fine, he had to do a lot of work for the job that he did. He was a nice young man and his intern.
