Milton's Tree Care MD

The tree location was in a corner between my house and a wooden fence. Very challenging, but they did great. No damage to my fence or house. They had to remove part of the fence (with my permission) but returned it to its original location once the job was completed. All the employees worked well together. They communicated well and watched out for one another. Each person obviously took pride in their work. They respected my house and were careful where they stepped and put their tools. The crew also trimmed a large holly tree as it was hanging over my house. It was evenly done and they cleaned up afterward. I will definitely recommend this company to my friends.

After being snowed in for nearly 2 weeks, we were incredibly grateful that they were able to clear the snow and ice from our property on the same day. I used Milton's to remove a tree from my backyard and grind the stump. The crew arrived on time, was careful doing their work, and cleaned up afterward. I thought the price was very far and the service was excellent. I highly recommend Milton's.

They were super quick in taking down our huge fallen tree branch. VERY reasonable pricing and quick turnaround

It went fine - not as much as I would have liked trimmed and seemed pretty expensive for what was done.

It took a couple of weeks for an appointment but the crew was on time and worked fast and efficiently. They cleaned up very well, even the neighbors were impressed.

I have used Milton's Tree Service for my mother's house where he removed two huge tree's that were over 100 ft and a second time today at my house from several trees that fell from the recent storm. His crew shows up on time, are experienced, friendly and do a great job cleaning up all the debris. SUPERB service and I wouldn't use any other tree company!

I took advantage of an Angie's List offer for Milton's Tree Service: pay $199 for $400 worth of tree service. When Milton came to my home, I asked him about trimming a tree and removing a tree. I had 3 mature trees growing too close to each other, and I wanted to preserve the one in the middle (a crepe myrtle) by trimming the tree to its left, and removing the one on the right. Milton said there was no need to remove the tree, and instead suggested trimming a long row of leyland cypress trees. I agreed to that work, since I know that leylands over time can break or collapse. Two things did not go well with the work on the leylands. First, Milton's crew brought in a cherry picker. That was fine as he had told me in advance he would need to use a cherry picker to reach the tops of the leylands, and so as not to damage my lawn, he needed to make sure the ground was not wet since he'd be driving the equipment on my lawn. However, what his crew did not do is check for sprinkler heads in the ground. And since the leylands are on the edge of my property, they drove the cherry picker on my lawn and my neighbor's. My neighbor came out of his house very upset that the picker was on his property, and the potential for damaging the sprinkler heads. Fortunately it didn't damage my sprinkler heads nor my neighbor's, but they should have checked for the heads first, and they should have notified my neighbor they'd be driving on his lawn. The second issue was how much Milton charged me for the service. He gave me the estimate before he did the work (weeks in advance) which I assumed did not include the $400 credit. Instead, after the work was done, he said his fee included the credit, therefore, I had to pay $400 more than I expected. I really think he charged me an extra $200 to $400 to cover the value of the coupon, especially since he gave me an estimate that was not based on anything quantitative such as number of hours of labor, or number of leyland trees to be trimmed. My suggestion would be to know how much a service costs before getting an Angie's List coupon so you know whether you're getting the full value of the coupon. In Milton's favor, the trimming work his crew did on the leylands was excellent.

The work was excellent and clean up was done after they finished. Both the tree and the lilac bush look better than ever. The only issue is that it took a while for the work to be scheduled, but all was done well and promptly once it was scheduled.

Service was excellent. It was readily apparent that they really cared about taking care of the trees and ensuring their health.

They were very professional, their price was reasonable and I had no problems with them. There were additional charges. I would use them again in the future.

I got prices from 2 other firms and they were much higher than he was. He took down the trees. One tree he wasn't going to take down then decided he would go ahead. Cut them all into logs for me. It was all part of it.

It didn't turn out well. The guy couldn't come when expected because of rain. He ended up showing a few weeks later and the tree because of all of the water it didn't turn out. When I called him back I couldn't get him he said his wife was having a baby. I ended up having to use someone else to tie the tree down. I wouldn't use him again ever. We lost the tree anyway. Even though I called him back he never followed up.

It took a bit of time to get this work scheduled, even though I paid in advance. Overall, the work went pretty well. It was a large tree, and a big job in a tight space. The laborer who did the tree cutting/trimming was very skilled. He was accompanied by three workers. Towards the end of the project, when the trunk was being cut, one of the helpers on the guide line let a limb slip into my rear fence, taking a plug out of the back of the fence. The crew did a quick repair with a piece of borrowed wood. I would have preferred them to return to do a better repair of my fence, or to deduct some amount from my payment. I was taking a video at the time and have a recording of the incident.

They did an excellent job. The workers were on time, very professional, thorough, and cleaned up after themselves. They were also very knowledgeable on the different types of trees and the best way to trim them.

Great work. In addition to trimming the 2 large shrubs, an additional shrubs was trimmed and also a pine tree.

It went well. The assessment was done quickly and although it took awhile to schedule the work (about 6 weeks), once the work was scheduled, the crew was on time, polite and worked quickly. They did a great job with clean up too.

Mr. Milton and his crew transformed my yard, but taking down a pine tree and mulberry tree in my yard as well as pruning a few trees getting too close to my roof. He gave me the best price by a great deal. His crew took a little longer than expected to administer service, but Mr. Milton was incredibly responsive and checked in with me regularly. Great work overall. I will definitely call him again.
