"Thanks you for writing the review. First of all when we came out there we first initially inspected that it was coming from the roof. With any type of leaking into a house it could be trial and error. But when it continued to leak over and over we did so much extra work and you seen that I think we must’ve came out 10 times for free. Companies don’t do that they will eventually say it’s coming from somewhere else and you need to call another company because I hear it all the time. Remember we cut the drywall out and left it open for a while. Once you told us that there was nothing leaking we came back out and we put the drywall back. Then fast forward a little bit a time you said you notice some leaking coming through to the drywall again. We came to realize we had to pull up your steps which was not part of the initial scope of work. And you had a drain at the bottom of your steps underneath of the stairs that was not proper. It was not draining correctly and around the drain was leaking. So I gave you a new estimate to pull up all the steps and fix the drain not replace it but just repair it. Last time we came out I have not heard anything from you. I didn’t even know it was leaking again? Why didn’t you contact me and send me pictures. You know that I always respond. Why aren’t you letting me know through email? or text message that there’s a problem. I’ve always been aggressive to try to fix any issues. BTW - I still meet Angies List guidelines to advertise with them. But I no longer choose to spend thousands of dollars a month for advertising that wasn’t going anywhere. So please don’t say things that are not true. Especially during a time like this. You know that if you would’ve emailed me I would’ve sent somebody out there immediately. Like I always have. Hopefully whoever the person or company is that you have out there that is saying or Work is shoddy. Hopefully th"

This company is extremely disorganized. Different workers showed up at my house every time. Sometimes one person, sometimes 2-3. Never worked 8h; sometimes 2h then left, or needed equipment so disappeared for 2-3h. Lack of expertise from the top down. The foremen claimed to know what to do, but this was clearly not the case. They were messy and did things in a very haphazard manner. It was unclear to me that anyone in this group has the knowledge and know-how to perform mold remediation properly. Of course, you can expect the company to claim otherwise. My strong advice: Find another company.

Because you are a doctor in the field of mold it seems as though you felt like you knew more than us the entire process. This was extremely frustrating. We went above and beyond. We came back out numerous times (that was not needed full days) hours does not matter in remediation work. It’s a process. We even dropped off a air scrubber for additional 4 days at no cost. And then you lied about picking it up but fortunately I had the emails. Every time we came back out you were dictating on what my crew should do. You had them scrubbing tact strip! Who does that?!? Sorry but for a company that worked with you numerous times I’m baffled of the review you left! We went above and beyond! I even told you that more materials needed to be removed but once again you knew more and told us how to complete our job! You used bleach over and over again. Bleach activates mold.. this again interfered with our work. We are a great company that stands by our work and did the entire time we worked in your house. Thanks have a blessed day."

Do not use this company. They never returned to complete the work. And now I have found that the roof leak they said they repaired did not last. The roof is leaking again in the same place as before. It is difficult to describe what a disaster this has been from day one. And it's now two years into trying to deal with these people. As I said, DO NOT under any circumstances use this company--if they are still in business.

They did an excellent job! I was worried about mold in the basement and they found some, destroyed it completely then water proofed! I've already told my neighbors about this company and I'd hire them again! The crew was very professional and took time to answer any questions I had.

Called MJ Homes Services to request mold testing at my residence. They responded to my request within in a 24 hour period. I received a quote promptly after the test was completed. I am so impressed with the services of this company.

Everything seemed great at first. They were very responsive to all my inquiries and were willing to work with our insurance company as far as price. However, the quality of the work was not great. After they initially claimed the work was "done", there were still nail holes that needed to be patched, they didn't carpet small areas of the floor, they didn't trim the edges of the carpet and instead just rolled it up under the baseboard radiators, and didn't put closet door back on its tracks because it now needed to be trimmed down. After numerous phone calls and e-mails, it then took me almost two weeks for someone to come back out and fix all of these issues. On top of all that, they went ahead and charged my credit card for the final payment without receiving my authorization to do so (as they did with the first two payments). The only reason I wouldn't give them an F is because they did most of the work and the price was reasonable.

They were super responsive and worked via email and phone with ease. So many times contractors don't return calls in either a timely fashion or at all. These folks were the complete opposite and very easy to deal with. The did a good job for us and we'd definitely use them again, very flexible and great communications!

Wonderful. There are few things worse than going down to your basement and finding muddy water pooled on the floor. We were able to take care of the standing water; however, we had to find the source of the leak. We called MJ Home and they were able to come out the same day, give an assessment, and by that evening we had an estimate. Another representative came out the following day to meet with my husband and discuss the exact plan of attack and the following day they were out there and the job was completed. I would not have asked for better service.

These folks are awesome! They answered the phone very early on a Saturday morning and took care of a flooding emergency at a rental property of mine in Baltimore. They went out the same day and got to work. It was a fairly large job, and they were able to solve the issues promptly and professionally. They resolved a variety of problems and put things back together perfectly. The rates were very reasonable, and they sent lots of photos since I wasn't able to be there in person. They also helped me deal with some grumpy insurance adjusters. They have handled a number of smaller jobs for me as well. They are extremely reliable and respond quickly. This is especially great for my situation as I can manage communication with them via text message while I work on other projects and then pay via credit card. In summary, MJ Home Services goes above and beyond, and I highly recommend them!!!

Sealed the holes behind from the nails for free. I'm not really sure why you would give us a bad review when we made 2 trips out there for free.. after we then found out you had another problem with your roof that you didn't even know about. Then you lied and said you didn't want to have any other work done at the time. We did everything correct and went above and beyond. Thanks and God Bless."

There were some miscommunication about pricing. There were some last minute scheduling difficulties. The carpet that they installed, it was fairly clear that the person doing the installation had not installed carpet before, it's missing a little bit of padding. They did offer to fix it, however; I was frustrated due to the scheduling difficulties and the pricing difficulties so I declined having them come back out again to fix the carpet.

The first appointment was missed due to miscommunication. I got an email, then a phone call, made an appointment, then the worker never showed up and they said I hadn't confirmed the appointment, even though I talked to the scheduler on the phone and confirmed it! Calling back was sometimes difficult as the answering machine would not pick up, or only after a long time. So I can't give them a great grade for responsiveness or punctuality. Once they did get the worker out to my house, he did the work quickly and efficiently, so no problems there. For the small amount of work needed, I probably could have hired someone for just an hour for less, but everything offered in the deal was provided.

It went extremely well! They were punctual, hardworking and professional. It was necessary to dig up my neighbor's landscaping, so they were very careful to disturb only what was necessary and to restore everything to its original condition. They even replaced her broken underground downspout extension (which was draining into my basement!) without comment or additional charge. When my neighbor accused them of causing a problem, MJ was quick to respond and the team on-site made a point of apologizing to her in person. I don't think MJ caused the problem, so I was very impressed that they "went high" to investigate the matter and, as I said, apologize for the inconvenience she felt she suffered. The work they did inside to remove mold and seal the wall was thorough and neat. The gentleman doing the work cleaned up everything and took all of his equipment and trash with him. his is especially important since he was working with strong chemicals. My contact in the office was prompt to address anything I threw her way. It was easy to make payments online. Best of all - no sign of water in the basement since they were here!!

Can't imagine better service, or price. It was raining on the original date of work, and they immediately scheduled another work day in the same week. They called when they were running late, and when they showed up the workmen were professional and downright pleasant to talk with. I wasn't able to get onto the roof, so they took pictures to show the site before and after. The people I dealt with knew what work needed to be done, as well as my scheduling requirements, and seemed genuinely concerned with my satisfaction as a customer. I have no doubt that MJ Home Services will be the first contractor I call for my next repair.
