The project has taken more time than anticipated due to material and subcontractor availability. The framing work was outstanding. Wall board work was also outstanding. Electrical work was very good, but the location of a bathroom fixture and chair lift power plug had to be moved because they were too low. The tile work in the bathroom (shower and floor), computer room (floor), entrance (floor) was outstanding, but I'd rather call it amazing. The plumbing work was very good, but parts availability delayed completion. Finishing work done by MJL was outstanding!!! Anthony is a master at detail. The rigor of MJL inspection of work by the subcontractors was very thorough and when issues were identified were recorded and worked off. Communication and follow up is a big deal for home improvement projects in this challenging environment of material, parts, and workforce shortages. MJL excelled in communication. We rated punctuality as good but would have rated them very good if there was an option. We highly recommend them. We have since booked two additional projects with MJL, a screened in porch and a garage redo. They start in late July. We expect both projects to go very well.

We were very pleased with the professionalism and quality of work done. Our basement flooded requiring a complete rebuild. Mike and his team were timely with delivery of an estimate, very communicative and we greatly appreciated his vision and suggestions. Because of the quality of work we decided to use him to replace our roof as well. I would highly recommend MJL to anyone and have actually already referred him to family.

Where to start? How about Three floods- 1st one: One of the helpers stepped through my ceiling when the bathroom floor was up and broke a water pipe. This flooded part of the ceiling and had to be torn out. Second flood occurred when they removed the old vanity and the water shutoff valves were leaking at a pretty good rate. Water again went through the floor and created a long stain the length of my bathroom on the other side of the ceiling that had already been damaged. They did a very poor job of patching the big damage to my ceiling and simply painted over the stain on the opposite side. Third flood: New valve for the shower blew out. Floor was done by this time, the ceiling patch work (about a 3x3 square) looked horrible, so I'm actually glad this one happened. Sitting watching TV and BANG, water starts spraying between the floor and ceiling and immediately through the bad patch work already completed. I'm glad it happened because now about a third of my ceiling actually needed to be replaced as well as some living room walls. When tearing it out, he said, I think we've got it all and I had to point out to him that I still had water dripping from the window sill, so keep on going.... However, the damage was so large, they had to hire a drywall pro that actually knew what he was doing and did all the repairs. Thankfully, this looks good now for the most part. My biggest problem overall with MJL is the lack of quality workmanship or caring about our concerns. Things like Painting without prepping walls by filling in holes, or sanding patchwork, poor grouting work, missed large areas of grouting, having to constantly point out poor workmanship and asking for it to be fixed, or pointing out things they completely missed. We never saw a real design prior to the work starting (although we paid for one), we chose high quality products from his high quality vendors, only to get low quality workmanship. Mike left his laborers (that's what I'll call them as they lacked basic skills), to do most of the grouting, most of the painting, and anything else that didn't require skills. Both these young guys were very nice, very professional and worked hard, but just lacked the skill set. Scratches made on a brand new furniture piece vanity, scratches on the brand new shower door stainless crossbar, failure to prep, paint, and reinstall baseboard behind the vanity before they hooked it all back up, i can go on and on, but this was an overall painful experience coupled with a poor attitude when asked to fix their own mistakes. Communication got worse as the job lingered on, and Mike doesn't seem to respond to women, so I had to constantly get involved to make things known after my wife just seemed to keep failing to get a reasonable response. To top it all off, we finally came to the end with a problem I missed because I never turned it on. Our new "whisper" exhaust fan is loud and clunky. When asked to come check it out, he claimed he couldn't find anything wrong with it and couldn't figure out why it was so loud, and when I gave them the option to replace it or send me the receipt so I can return it myself, they just sent me the receipt. NO Pride in craftsmanship, poor workmanship, bad communication, and little concern for responding to our concerns. I chose MJL based on the reviews here and from other sites. I heard he recently lost a business partner, I'm going to assume that guy was the one doing most of the work in the past or had all the skills. I now know I can't trust reviews. I paid top dollar, over 40K for this bathroom. It looks good until you look closer. I will have to re-grout several areas in the shower, re-install an exhaust fan, and reinstall one of the vanity water supplies because it's opposite of the other sink. One sink you go left for hot, the other right. Pointed it out, nothing done, some excuse that it should be like that, um, No mike, it shouldn't..I strongly suggest you go elsewhere if your looking for quality. Licensed, Bonded is good, but if something goes wrong now, despite their "guarantee" I know I'll likely be ignored and end up in a legal route. You've been warned.

This project went very well. When our old shower was removed, the contractor discovered not only a hidden old stairway, but a leak from the floor above. Accessing it to repair was difficult, but it and a second leak were remedied and a disaster averted. Installation of the new shower was demanding, as like all old houses, ours has its quirks and odd measurements and angles. The remodeling---a new shower, removal of an old tub and installation of new cabinetry---was excellent. MJL's Mike Laudicina and every one of his helpers did meticulous work. And all were a pleasure to do business with. We would hire MJL again, and readily recommend them.

I recently contracted with MJL Contractors, Inc. to have a kitchen installed. Best decision! Mike, Amy and the staff are top-notch. They are very knowledgeable, work diligently, and are friendly and considerate. I was always provided with arrival dates and times. Not once was I disappointed. At the end of the day, the room was left neat and clean. The work was completed within the time frame I was given. I am so happy with my new kitchen! Thank you Mike and your wonderful staff for making it a reality.

Excellent job by all! The team was on time, professional, and skilled. They worked with my ideas and were careful to clean up daily after working. We had a delay in glass arriving for our shower so they configured a temporary shower curtain holder for us and even brought a new shower curtain that they put up until the glass arrived. I highly recommend this contractor!

Amazing. From day one Mike, Amy and the team were extremely helpful, friendly and easy to work with. They listened to our ideas, gave advice and professional opinions and offered excellent suggestions. The crew showed up and got to work as expected. They were friendly and understood we had a family to get out the door in the morning and worked around our hectic lifestyle. We trusted them immediately and had no issue with having a lock box so they can come and go as necessary. The painting was done quickly and efficiently with very little need for touchup. The woodworking is TOP quality and the final product is amazing. We are thrilled with how everything turned out. They were able to finish in three weeks prior to our house warming party. They were flexible when we decided to change a few things mid process. We highly recommend MJL and will use them for future projects.

Given the estimate of 2 weeks, the job was finished almost on schedule due to some unforeseens. Mike gave us a few ideas to add to our own. His crews were experienced, nice and very professional. For any unplanned issue, they immediately consulted us for options on how to move forward. They cleaned up before leaving each day. <br>

<p>Mike, Chris and his crew did an excellent job completely remodeling our master bathroom.  Communication was great from estimate to completion of the project.  Estimate was detailed, accurate, and fair.  Responsiveness was amazing.  These guys handled and challenge and customization we asked for and did not leave until we were 100% satisfied with their work.  Completely trustworthy...I felt confident enough to give them my house keys and they came in several times to complete work while we were not home.  Price was not cheap but fair and well worth the value.  MJL was hands down the best experience I've had with a contractor working on my home.</p> <br />

MJL did a great job remodeling our Kitchen with new cabinets, granite counter-tops, and sink/faucet. I bought the appliances separately and MJL installed them as well. Price was very reasonable and the quality was top notch. Mike delivered as promised, completing the job before an influx of relatives arrived for our daughter's wedding. We are very pleased with the workmanship and attention to detail. It is rare that you don't find something left incomplete or just not quite right with a remodeling job...but that's exactly what happen with MJL; we are very satisfied! Thanks Mike! <br />

We love our new kitchen. The quality is good and Mike is an honest, trustworthy person. It took much longer than expected, mostly because of the cabinets.

I can't say enough good things about the great work that Mike Laudicina and his team did on my house. Mike did a thorough job of drawing up all the repairs that were needed inside and outside of the property but he also provided excellent guidance for the upgrades I wanted. As you can see from the list of things above, it was extensive but it was worth every penny. <br />

This is the first remodeling that we've done and we are so happy to have such a great contractor! Chris kept us informed throughout the entire job. He always arrived on schedule and told us when he would arrive later be causing of picking up supplies. All of their work was professionally done and turned out wonderful. The fence didn't come in until we had left on a trip and Chris and the crew installed it and sent pictures to use. He even had to deal with a problem with the latch! We highly recommend MJL. In fact we will be starting phase 2 shortly in which they will completely remodel the master bathroom and put hardwood floors upstairs and down the stairs.
