Avoid. Marlon is very likeable and trustworthy, at first glance. Once he gets the deposit his communication with you ends. Very poor communication the entire time. Does not text or call. Does not show up when he says he will. Took weeks from start date to begin. Tore down old deck and disappeared for weeks. Took him over a month to complete a new deck build that should have been a week. There were many issues that arose throughout the build. I would have to look over his work every step of the way. It went downhill once he built the stairs. They were not cut straight. He literally was pulling a "shim sham" job by putting shims to correct it. The entire staircase was leaning. When confronted he made up some lies and eventually agreed to tear it down and start over. One of the planks is damaged and still on my deck after he was supposed to replace it. He did replace one but there was two. Marlon charged me for Trex brand railings but gave me Lowe's brand instead. When confronted he told me they're all the same and he just calls it trex. We agreed on a gate. He pretended like we never discussed that and in the end talked me out of the gate so now I don't have the gate I wanted since the alternative was a roll up gate that looks bad. There was a screw hole on one of the railings and we brought it to his attention. He replaced it but tried to charge me for it in the balance due upon completion. Speaking of the balance, he added sales tax to a capital improvement. When confronted he told me his accountant automatically put that into his program. He didn't agree to remove the sales tax until I said I would get it back through the IRS if I have to pay it to him. He is not the person to hire. Hire a company. The price I paid was extremely expensive as well.

It was perfect. It came out beautiful.

It was fantastic. It went well. Going through the process, he really understood what I was looking for. He basically was able to customize to my needs. Every now and then he comes back to update the stains on the pergola.
