The work was scheduled for late summer due to their schedule but they were able to fit our job in.  Called on a Tuesday, scheduled for Thursday.  Arrived on time.

They did water proofing on the foundation of my home. They were very good.

It went very well. It was an extremely messy job but they cleaned up and were very thoughtful about putting things back. I am very fussy and so were they. They discovered that my house didn't have any drain tile which meant that they would have to do extra work. They worked very hard to come up with a reasonable solution. I appreciated their effort. <br />

We played phone tag but when we did talk he was very informative, professional and polite.  He had ideas from the renters and us and worked well with both of us.  He allowed minor  changes toward the pouring time with minimal additional costs.  As with any concrete job they are weather dependent toward the end of the season so we were pleased when he was able to complete the job within two weeks of his estimated time.  He had originally said he's have to come back in approx. a month ( weather dependent) to seal  the concrete after it cured. He then however,  said  the sealing agent was added to the concrete  and he didn't have to return.  This still makes me uncomfortable but a month later and the job looks good.  We'll see after the first winter.  Also he required no money up front but was pd. in full at the end of the job., no payment system or credit card  were accepted. <br />

All around outstanding - by far the best experience I've ever had with a contractor.  Punctual, communicated well, did everything they agreed to and more without charging me more.  They fit me in quickly, came back an extra day due to poor weather interrupting the job, and made some good suggestions along the way.   <br /> They also noticed there were some pinhole leaks in my gas line and I had the gas company come out and put a sleeve in the pipe (free of charge).   <br /> I was worried about how the yard would look after, but they used plywood to protect the lawn and replaced all landscaping.  The yard actually looked better after they were done! <br /> I would absolutely recommend them and will use them again if I ever move and need waterproofing at the new house. <br />

I had initially contacted them back in early June and they promptly came out to look at the work being requested and then gave me a quote.  Their quote was not the lowest but I decided to go with them based on the good reviews here and the time Ray spent to understand what I wanted done.  We ended up having to delay the work though due to some sewer repairs which required digging up part of the front walk.  After that was completed we had to wait for about 6 weeks for the dirt to settle before putting the new sidewalk over it.  They were very understanding and said it was fine with them to wait.  Once we finally settled on a date they were here promptly to remove the old sidewalk, drain, and sunken sections.  They also put in all of the forms and did all of the other prep work the first day (a Thursday) so it would be ready for inspection on Friday.  This was my only small complaint; I figured the inspection would be done first thing Friday and they would be pouring Friday.  But they didn't actually do the pouring until Saturday and I wasn't able to be here for that.  But it was all done when I returned home and it looked great.  They even put in some extra rebar across the section where the sewer repair had been done so it shouldn't have any issues with sinking or cracking in that area.  Overall, I'm very happy with the work they did and will probably have them back when it comes time to replace the rest of the driveway. <br />

They are a neighborhood company. They seem to know what they are doing and I was happy with the concrete work. They put a slight tilt in the patio so that it drains away from the house. They knew the local building requirements. It has been 6 years and everything is holding up fine.

Extraordinary!  First, designing a driveway that is aesthetic between two abutting driveways that are on different elevations; Second, dealing with the homeowner unfriendly City of Lakewood regarding storm sewer drainage; Third, sensitive to all details that homeowners wanted.  The men came in and dug up two driveways, discovering a hidden coal bin under one, which had to be filled in and waterproofed.  Then they laid storm sewer piping that took care of the drainage.  They responded to every change in desires of the owners. The digging saved all of the abutting garden work--no mean feat!  Then the laying the cement with perfect sloping to take of water runoff into the street.  Lastly, running an expertly laid brick border to the work, including cutting the brick perfectly where it needed to be.  All this extra without any surcharge from the original quote.  Ray Scott is a professional and a gentlemen.  Every day I drive out from the driveway, I enjoy the craftsmanship. <br />

It went fine.

Due to terrible weather conditions in the Spring, we did have to wait a few more weeks than originally estimated.  During this process, they kept us in the loop as to how soon they would be here.   However, the wait was worth it!  They called the night before the work was to be started and they were here exactly when they said they would arrive.  All of their employees were polite, professional and worked like fine-tuned machines.  Everyone knew their job, when to do it and worked beautifully as a team.  It was a pleasure watching them work because they all took great pride in their effort to make sure the job was done professionally.   This company & family should be proud of their employees.  Many people stopped to look at the beautiful work and you could see them slow down to ask for cards or to copy their phone number.   We are extremely happy that we chose them to do our work.  We would definitely recommend them and, if needed, have them do future work for us.

The Scott's were very professional and polite. They were able to work around our schedule. They went above and beyond what we had asked for, and added little touches to the driveway that make it look very clean and professional. <br /> I had mentioned off handed that the back yard sometimes floods and that I may want to add some drainage to it one day. Ken Scott added a piece of drain tile under the walkway in case we wanted to connect into it later and wouldn't have to tear up the new pavement. I'm so glad he did too - I have to run electrical underground and we will use that to pull the cable through. <br /> <br /> We are very pleased with the final result. They took care not to damage anything, and cleaned up the site very well. We couldn't have asked for more!

They were prompt, courtous and came when they said they would.

Mr. Scott called soon after I left a message that we were interested in an estimate for driveway replacement. Mr. Scott reviewed what we wanted done - new driveway, brick front walkway, brick walk and patio in back of the house, and gave us an estimate. He came when he said he would, and gave us the estimate by the date he set. Mr. Scott, his three sons, and two assistants performed the work in a neat, timely, and skilled manner. They were polite, kind, and consistently professional, arriving on time every day, and staying until that portion of the job was complete. The job took approximately four days, not including a Sunday, and the day the city inspector reviewed the set-up before the pour. What I liked especially about the company is they are indeed a family business, with forty years of experience working together as a unit. Mr. Scott alone has over fifty years experience. The old adage that you get what you pay for comes to mind. The work is beautiful, and worth every penny. I highly recommend M. L. Scott and Sons.

mr.scott came to give estmate and survey the job, he had to return a secod time to fine tune the requested work changes on my part. The crew (his sons and co.)showed up promptly and ready to work, through several obstacles and more work changes they never once got mad and went above and beyond what they had to. They paid attention to detail, did extras, and work that wasn't expected or thought of. Truly a professional outfit well worth the extra $$$$$

M L Scott & Sons was very good. They were very professional. It is a nice group of people working there. They have very nice equipment. We had no problems whatsoever. I would recommend them. They did a very nice job. They cleaned everything up when they were done. It was exactly how my husband wanted.

Everyone that works M L Scott was very helpful, friendly, and easy to work with. They did a great job of keeping me updated on the project. This is a family company and they take a lot of pride in there work. (Last year a grand daughter joined the crew for take your daughter to work day which I thought was cute).

We contracted in the winter. He said he would get to it in the spring. We thought that meant the beginning of spring, and they didn't schedule the job until the very end of spring. They were very punctual, they made sure the job was done right. My neighbors have told me what a beautiful driveway I have now! They did a really nice job finishing it. The sidewalk and attachment work were not originally part of our estimate.

They lived up to their reputation! I would use them again and recommend them.
