I had a fantastic experience working with Mike & Karen of Modern Plumbing! Mike is a Master Plumber and cares deeply about sharing his expertise and doing high quality work. We had an electric water heat that had ceased working while we were out of town. He drained and removed the old tank and installed a new gas tankless system. He was very responsive and worked long hours to get our project completed. After living here for more than 30 years, we’ve finally found a plumber that we will call whenever there is a need!

Excellent experience with Modern Plumbing of the Triangle! I had an unexpected water heater emergency over the weekend, and Master Plumber Mike Calkins, was responsive, thorough in diagnosing the issue, and prompt in scheduling service. He completed the installation the very next day with exceptional workmanship. He was professional, patient in answering my many questions, and he did not try to up sell unnecessary services or products. His pricing was reasonable and he cleaned up the area thoroughly after the service was completed. I would absolutely hire him again and I wholeheartedly recommend him without reservation. Mike did an AWESOME job of replacing a hot water heater that included rerouting the gas line as well as tidying up the hot and cold-water lines. Honestly, the project looks like it's photoshopped while looking at it real-time. Mike is very meticulous with his work and is also a splendid person to get to know.

We had an excellent experience with Modern Plumbing, run by Mike and his wife. Mike was friendly, knowledgeable, and explained everything clearly. His estimate showed expertise and attention to detail, and he recommended a higher-end model than others. Supporting a local business was important to us. During installation, Mike detected a faint gas smell, traced it to a nail puncturing our gas line—a slow leak for ten years. He safely repaired it, thanks to his gas line certification. Now our home is safe, and we have a great new water heater. We trust Modern Plumbing and highly recommend them.

Mike was amazing with info over the phone, then a home visit on his way home as it was end of the day and 2 hour away to discuss options came the next day and fixed the issue he came as scheduled on Saturday and fixed the issue perfectly Very personable, reasonable rates, and pretty quick, communication all along the way What I liked the best was the discussion on the phone prior that gave me the comfort level he was top shelf Heck?s gave me a two year warranty on parts and labor, no one does that! I highly recomend this company for their knowledge and experience in dealing with plumbing issues. I had a water leak in the main water line from the meter to the house. I had some reservation that the plumber could find the leak let alone fixing it. I could tell he knew about different materials that go into plumbing, which is important to fix it right and guarantee the job. On a side note, he was pleasant and friendly.

Within 15 minutes of contacting you and getting a list of 4 local contractors their office called. A plumber, Michael, arrived within an hour, on a Saturday! He assured me, my water heater did not need to be replaced, but another small tank did. He came back that same day and replaced that little tank, and brought in the part that was worn out, rusted and corroded to show me. He was pleasant, friendly, prompt and respectful. If I could rate this company higher than a 5 it would definitely deserve it. I'm sure I'll use them again and recommend them to my family and friends.

We finally called a plumber to replace a corroded bathroom faucet. At the same time, some repairs that we had been meaning to get to for a while. Corroded pipes under the house and a dripping faucet. Modern Plumbing of the Triangle was able to come promptly and fix the problems expertly. We will definitely call on them again if the need arises.

Mike was great to work with. He gave me a fair price, didn't try to oversell me and was very knowledgable. He was quick to come by for a FREE quote and quick to schedule the service. I felt like the time the service took was legitimate and that he took care to not damage my home.
