Moisture Loc Waterproofing & Foundation Repair

The work they did was very good. However, they definitely need to work on communication and keeping the customer informed of what's going on, that part I was not too satisfied with. When they scheduled the work with me after we hired them, they told me what day they'd be coming out and asked if I'd be home. I said yes, I will. I made sure to be home that day, but they never showed up, costing me time off work, and never called me to let me know they weren't coming. At least keep me in the loop. The project rep's response to my complaint was, "You didn't need to be home anyway." Well, would've been nice to be told that upfront. There was also no follow-up when they finished - no phone call or email to ask if we had any questions or concerns, as this was a pretty major project done to our house. To me, that's important professionalism. As a customer, you want to feel valued. All we received was an email with the final invoice.

Highly recommend them!  Jesus was our project manager and he was always qucil to respond to all questions, easy to get in touch with and pleasant to work with.  They did an awesome job. <br />

Moisture-Loc has a lot of business, so it can take a while to schedule.  But they did a very good job.  Also, the representative who came out, inspected the crawl space, did not try to sell me something I didn't need.  He said I didn't have any mold issues.  The workers worked very quickly and were done in one day. <br />

<p>Work was contracted with this firm due to the fact that during the evaluation of the crawlspace, I had multiple proposals, and Moisture Loc recommended not to encapsulate the crawlspace, where others gave no other alternatives. Moisture Loc could have easily agreed with the others to get the work, but gave me an option. </p> <p>The work was scheduled, executed by very friendly personnel who worked very hard to make sure all areas were covered and the fungus removed.</p> <p>One of the areas that I appreciated as much as the work was the fact that money was not requested the minute they finished. The sales rep was very personable and seemed to have knowledge of drainage problems and solutions. The workers arrived on schedule and worked very hard to accomplish the task at hand. They routed the drainage to an open ditch parallel to the property. They also rerouted drainage for an existing, inefficient french drain and sump that was pumping water across the driveway that was washing the soil out from under the concrete and creating an unsightly stain. To this point, we felt that all was going well. The problem that arose was that the French drain they installed was still higher than the foundation of the house. They filled in the trench with gravel to facilitate drainage, but covered the gravel with the soil they removed, which is mostly clay. Consequently, the water still runs off across the top of the French drain and overwhelms the foundation. Moisture in the crawl space has not been significantly reduced. I talked to the rep about redoing the crawl space which had mold forming on the floor joists. He gave me a quote that included sealing all the vents, cleaning the mold, adjusting pitch of the interior perimeter French drain, relocating the crawl sump and pump to a better collection point, putting down new vapor barrier and installing a crawl space dehumidifier, ($1,500.00) at a total cost of $4,290.00. If we wanted mold remediation treatment in addition to just cleaning the mold, the cost was an additional $1,950.00. The rep also agreed to send a team back out to remove the top layer of soil from the French drain and fill the trench with gravel, build up the soil at the foundation, making the new French drain at a level lower than the foundation to contain the water, at no additional charge. Subsequent to all that, we discovered some major structural damage that was going to be costly. Alignment of priorities and available finances dictated that the crawl space would have to be put on hold, at least temporarily. I sent an email to the Moisture Loc rep explaining our dilemma, but reiterated that I still expected him to live up to his promise to fix the French drain deficiencies, for which I already paid handsomely. In spite of email, text messages and voice mail to the rep, I have never received the courtesy of a response. I can only conclude that since we had to suspend the crawl space work, there is no intention to make the necessary changes/repairs to the original work as promised. <br />

work itself went very well. The rep actually recommended a cheaper alternative than their usual work process, which was very nice. only issue was in the time it took to get a definitive date for work to be performed - a little slow in answering emails and setting a date. otherwise, a great job! <br />

They worked with my builder. I did not directly pay them. It took them over 4 weeks to fix a water problem in my crawl space. They never showed up when they said they would. They never knocked on my door to let me know that they were on my property. They never told me what was going on or even how they planned on fixing the problem. <br />

Moisture Loc did a good job. The man came out and he answered all of our questions and he is very polite. He screened everything he was going to do and I paid him. He seems to be working okay, I haven't had any problems out of it. I would wish that I hadn't paid so much but everything comes costly these days. For the work they they did, I wouldn't have done it otherwise. They did what they said they would do, as a matter of fact they did a little bit more. They were neat, clean and in order. He was always prompt to call us back and his response is very good. They were pretty much hear when they said they were going to be here. They were very professional

They're amazing! We had heard word of mouth that they were good PLUS had good Angie's List ratings. They were punctual each morning and not loud at all. They took a lunch break and came back but they were so quiet that we didn't even know they were there. Jesus was so friendly and informative. His whole team was right on top of it. For the price, we got more of a deal and better quality materials than what other companies had quoted us. <br />

After the work, it is so much better as it has helped my heating and cooling bills. My wood had some moisture content left and they solved that problem because I had doubts about that problem when I had a little leak. I finish it up having it fixed. There were some molds under the house and when they were doing that they tested all over the house. They found out that I have a problem with the other side of the house and totally away from the leak, which was just due to the humidity. They did a great work and were very professional. I got some quotes from other contractors and they were by far the most professional and the most knowledgeable people. The guy I dealt with was very real sharp. I was impressed by him and by his knowledge and his expertise. His name was John Patrick.

My experience with Moisture Loc was great. I contacted Moisture Loc after I had spoken to several other companies. They quickly diagnosed the problem in my crawlspace and recommended repairs that fixed the moisture problem without going over the top. The technician was very honest explaining what he thought I needed and didn't need. To make matters even better, their quote was either equal to or less than the other companies I spoke with. They are a busy company so the work was scheduled 3 weeks out, but they were able to get started much earlier than anticipated. Once they began the job, they worked straight through for three days until it was finished. The work looks great. We have received a bit of rain since installation and so far the crawlspace seems dry. I have since had an HVAC guy do some work in the crawlspace and he thanked me for providing a clean and bug free environment. Moisture Loc does great work and I would certainly use them again. <br />

We had a leak in our finished basement, we called Moisture Loc to come out and inspect it and give us options. They recommended first making sure all the Foundation Drains were working properly. They checked the drains and the back drain was not working so they replaced it. Unfortunately the front was where we had a leak. Moisture Loc gave us some options, and we decided to have them re-do the waterproofing on the corner of the house that was leaking, they came in and did the work quickly and the issue has been resolved. All through the process they gave me options and explained the pros and cons and cost of each option.

There were some problems so they came back and fixed them. It was last year they came and did the work. They came back again this summer and addressed the problem. Compared to other companies it was about the same price they were charging. I thought it was a lot for the work that had to be done but that's what everybody else was charging. They did a very nice job and they were very responsive. They were very punctual and professional.

Met with 4 different companies to install moisture barrier in crawlspace and Moisture Loc was the clear winner for a number of reasons. Both Mark Bogle and Mark Rudy of Moisture Loc were very professional in their interaction with us and their proposal. They provided a recommended course of action in steps, from minimum to maximum level giving us the option to select what we felt most comfortable with to remedy the moisture problem and not overtreat (and thus overspend). If it doesn't resolve our issue, we could add the next step later. The work was performed as described and to our satisfaction. A final detail was missed by the crew but quickly addressed and corrected. Communication was excellent. Highly recommend this company.
