MONTOYA LANDSCAPE AND MAINTENANCE

Poorly laid paver walkway, blamed customer for project being incorrectly squared off, and in turn tilted the entire design. When asked to redo the project as it was not satisfactory I was told he would not redo the project and again that I was to blame for it coming out poorly. Refused refund so I could get the project redone by a different contractor. Didn't bed the pavers with compactor, didn't lock the project in with concrete around ALL of the walkway, and failed to use polymeric sand to lock the joints in. This project was a failure beyond not being square. It wouldn't have stood the test of time. Looks ok from a birds eye view but up close it was painfully out of square, and yet that was the customers fault.. (me) I wouldn't recommend this contractor and I would stay far away.

February 4 2026, Montoya Landscape came and gave me an estimate for 2 pallets of pavers, sod, 1 pallet trimming trees, and fixing irrigation. I agreed even though a previous contractor came out, but he wasn't local, so I picked Montoya. I paid him 1275 check # 7850, cashed 2/6/26. He told me on Monday, 2/9/26, he would order sod and pavers, and he would call me after Monday to tell me the date of work to begin. On 3/16, I called and left a message about where he was after cashing my check over a month ago. I got no return call. I called 3/18 using my business phone number, and Anthony answered no, stating Montoya Landscaping just hello! I asked him why he hadn't shown up to start the work after I gave him 1275 to order supplies. He told me I wasn't getting any old pavers! I did let him know you can get pavers and sod just about anywhere; he didn't have an answer for that. Then I was told he would be able to start work by 3/25, which is like a 4-hour job. I haven't heard from Montoya! I would think Angi would be a bit more particular with who you are recommending! I want my money 1275 back if this work is not done by 4/15/2026. I don't want him trimming the trees, and I had to pay Sherlock irrigation to come out at $435.45 to fix the irrigation

They came out on 1/3, gave me a quote, and I paid a 50% deposit on the spot. The job was scheduled for 1/7, he never showed. From there, communication was terrible. Calls went unanswered, messages were ignored, and I constantly had to chase him for updates. He blamed a ?rush job,? promised new dates, and still missed them. The work didn?t start until 2/3, over a month after my deposit, for a job he said would take about four days. At final payment, he claimed I was $100 short. My Ring camera shows the cash was counted multiple times, including by his worker, yet I paid another $100 just to avoid conflict. He also added an $850 cleanup/dump fee not included in the original quote. After being paid in full, he promised to return on 2/9 to show me the system. He never showed, ignored messages, and has now blocked my number. Over 5 weeks, surprise charges, zero support

Over a month, and has never been completer. Project is a 1,000 sq ft. Pool deck. Completed 240 sq. Ft to date.

Installed sod

I used Montoya Landscape for sod replacement. He gave me a competitive price and got the job done within 2 weeks. Very responsive and helpful. Ripped out the old weeds we had a replaced with St. Augustine. Would definitely rehire him on future projects.

We were extremely happy with the work and design that Anthony and his team accomplished in our yard. Anthony worked with our budget and developed a plan that we were happy with. Through out the whole project, Anthony's team was prompt and efficient. The quality of Anthony's work is second to none. Anthony and his crew come and do what they’re asked, usually in record time. The irrigation was a brand new system installed and was done in 2 days using name brand heads and devices. His prices leave you skeptical at first because they are very reasonable compared to others but his work is top notch and if it’s something you’re not happy with, he’ll make it right. I’ve used him multiple times and about to embark on a multiple drain field with major grade work to be done at my property due to flooding. I’ll update again after it’s done but have no doubt it’ll be another 5 star report.

His customer service is lower than minimal. He's argumentative, unreliable, and he has no work schedule.

I spoke with him in the morning. I got home from work and my lawn was cut!!! He did a good job. Being that my lawn is new he couldn't use a rider. I could see where he figured that out or it would be 5 stars. Prompt and Professional!!!
