DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY On Chris' request I put $1500 deposit down after receiving bids on two bathroom remodels. For personal reasons we were not able to schedule the work. I have tried numerous times to get a refund on my money. At first emails were ignored but I finally spoke to both Chris and his wife by phone. Twice Chris told me he would send me a refund check when he returned but he was out of town on a job. Now neither of them will answer their phone and they no longer have voice mail set up. DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY

At best they did a mediocre job. I would not refer them but If some one asked I would tell them if you want a quick and cheap paint job then hire them. They are nice people.

They were outstanding. They painted the entire 1600 sq. ft apartment, including a couple of coats of paint in some rooms as I changed my mind a few times. They were very punctual and on time. I had them back 1 another time to do another coat of paint. I had no problems with scheduling.

I signed up to the Bath Remodel Big Deal based upon the excellent reviews for Most Wanted Construction. I then purchased all materials prior to work beginning ( toilet, bathtub, shower faucets and valve, sink & faucet , vanity, medicine cabinet, wall tile and floor tile ). Work began on 6/30 and continued over the following two weeks finishing on 7/10. In that time they worked two six hour days ( demo and installation of the tub ) and two three hour days ( moving a light fixture to allow for the medicine cabinet and drywall repair ). From 7/10 to the present ( 49 days ), they have yet to return to continue the work. I?d asked to be notified when the remodeling / tile was to begin again on several occasions, specifically 7/20, 7/28, 8/6, 8/11 and finally on 8/18. As of today 8/27, I have yet to receive a definite answer. The bathroom has been unusable going on nine weeks now.
The following list is from the contract and I?ve noted what has, and what has not been accomplished since this began.
1. Demo old bathroom - 90% accomplished
2. Disposal of trash - 90% accomplished
3. New bath tub framing ? Not accomplished
4. 0.5 ? cement board installed on wall surrounding shower ( I upgraded based upon Chris' recommendation - see #18 )
5. 0.25? cement board installed on wood floors ( N/A )
6. Installation of up to 100 square feet tile ? Not accomplished
7. Grout ? Not accomplished
8. Installation of new toilet ? Not accomplished
9. New vanity installed with countertop ? Not accomplished
10. New medicine cabinet installed ? Not accomplished
11. Install new sink faucet ? Not accomplished
12. Install new shower and bath faucet ? Not accomplished
13. Install new GFCI outlet ? Installed, not wired
14. Install one new switch ? Not accomplished
15. Install new exhaust fan ? if one already exists - N/A
16. Install new shower rod ? Not accomplished
17. Priming and painting of walls and ceiling ? Not accomplished
18. Float wall with lath, wire and cement ? Not accomplished
19. Cut open wall and frame in medicine cabinet ? 60% accomplished
For anyone considering using Most Wanted Construction, put yourself in my situation and ask if this is what you would expect from a service company. Although I happen to find Chris a very likable individual and I very much looked forward to working with him on the bath remodel, I could not in good faith recommend his company, Most Wanted Construction, based upon my own personal experience. I believe the facts speak for themselves.

Christopher Horisk came out to meet me the same day I called! He went over our design options with me and my wife and gave us our quote. He had a custom cabinet maker on staff (Ignacio) to make an appointment to go over color and design. My wife was h****** him, but I gotta say he stepped up big and made her a happy camper. Chris was very friendly and professional. He and his crew were awesome. I felt comfortable enough to leave them alone in my home, which is rare these days. My overall experience was great! I can't wait to have him start remodeling my bathroom next.
It went ok. They were very slow to respond. The technician did a shotty job, so then they sent someone out to fix it a few months later. The technician was here for 45 minutes and used the wrong material that was the wrong texture and it cracked. The second technician was much better, however, they did stain my patio because they either cleaned or mixed the stucco on the patio.
Response from Most Wanted Construction
"We are sorry to hear that this client was dissapointed. We informed the client right away that he bought a stucco deal but the job he wanted done was a smooth plaster design on a side wall which we have not done a lot of before. We made the client aware that it may not look perfect and if he wanted to refund the deal and use someone who was more experienced he could. The client said it was a good deal and he wanted to go through us. Our first technician actually did a good job and he used the material that the client provided which made two small cracks. He called us two weeks later when the cracks showed up and he requested the contractor to come out. At the time the contractor was very busy and was not able to come out right away. When the contractor came out to finish it he fixed the plaster to the clients satisfaction."

Chris contacted me after my review was posted and asked what he could do "to make things better." He did everything I asked him to do and more - including completely replacing the tile floor when all that was really necessary was fixing a few tiles. He did the work himself and does indeed do the beautiful work mentioned in other reviews. I'm saw much improvement in timeliness, punctuality, and professionalism - he seems to have been going through a bad patch and is really working to turn things around. This time I would consider working with him again.

9 weeks for a very straightforward bathroom redo - no construction; just swapping out fixtures and adding tile - need I say more? The job still isn't really finished; I just reached the point where I had enough. To be fair, maybe a week of that time is down to the fact that there was no water shutoff in the condo for the bathtub and the HOA isn't especially accommodating about such issues. But on the whole, they were out maybe once or twice a week - if at all. The work itself was mediocre - and sometimes it had to be redone to get it to that standard. The floor tiles aren't well aligned and more than one is cracked; the grout wasn't sealed; the vanity top was initially installed at an angle from the wall (at one point 3/4" away from it) and without the stopper to operate the drain. I began to get the impression that he was just dropping off not-very-competent workers and leaving them to work unsupervised. That was particularly a problem because I couldn't be at home myself - Chris has a key but he didn't seem to be very careful about who he let in to work without supervision or who he gave it to, and he still hasn't returned it.
Chris was more than willing to pick up items I couldn't manage - like the tub - but actually getting it done took repeated phone calls and didn't happen until the vendors started threatening to cancel the order or charge storage. He was also happy to accommodate some of my more finicky requirements - except they didn't get done. I had some issues about charges and payments and had asked for a detailed breakdown - the last message I received from him was he was going to have Liz send it that day; then he would call me to discuss it, and come out to fix the leak in the shower head he had installed (this would be the second attempt to fix the leak) - none of that happened.
There are two or three other jobs that I need to hire someone to do - it definitely won't be Most Wanted Construction.
DO NOT HIRE!!!! My experience with Chris (Most Wanted Construction) a complete disaster. First, Chris himself almost never showed up and delegated his responsibilities to an ever-changing crew of workers with varying degrees of experience and competence. I found out that even though it was my intention to hire a licensed contractor, Chris was simply hiring workers from outside Home Depot with virtually no supervision. Second, the crew almost never showed on time and frequently cancelled entire work days without even bothering to give notice. He led me to believe the job could be finished in 1-2 weeks but due to all the delays it ended up taking 2 months. Third, Chris told me that he would discount the job estimate to give me a "credit" if I paid for materials, since I wanted higher end materials. But then he refused to help transport the materials I had purchased. Eventually he relented, but only after I had a lawyer talk to him. Fourth, Chris paid one of his subcontractors with a bounced check. Soon I had a worker who I never had hired threatening to put a mechanic lien on my home. Chris only took action to resolve this after I had my lawyer talk to him. Finally, even after 2 months, the quality of the work itself is very poor. The tiling on the walls is misaligned, and the plumbing job is a disaster. I am already contacting other contractors to fix the mess Chris has made. STAY AWAY!!
Response from Most Wanted Construction
"This review has taken us a while to repond to for two reasons. 1. We are going through a legal issue with this client and 2. We are dealing with one of our close family members being diagnosed with Cancer. This client has failed to mention that she is being sued by our company for non-payment of this job. We have been in business for over 10 years and this is the first time we have ever had to sue a client. There are a few very untrue statements in her review we would like to address. First of all we did not or have never used Home Depot Workers. We have one hispanic worker which she kept referring to as a Home Depot worker which was very disrespectful and hurtful to this individual. You think she would have more compassion since she herself has recently moved here from a different country. Second of all there were no issues with the bathroom at the completion. This is the first time we are hearing about it from the client in this review. We have attached pictures below of the finished bathroom. Third the client was not unhappy with our tile work because after her shower was completed she had our tile worker do additional tile wainscot on her bathroom walls (shown in our photo gallery under clients name). We did have a different tile worker initially on her job that did cancel on her rwice. We fired the worker immediately and canceled a check (not bounced) that we had given him for the job. We apologized and asked if she would like us to bring over our other tile worker. She said she wanted to continue with us and we immediatly had our other tile worker over to her job to complete. She was very happy with him and his work. We only had 3 workers at her job the whole time and Chris was there a majority of the time. We have texts from her up to the completion of the job showing that she was ok with the work. We require the balance to be paid at the completion of the job which she was fully aware of. When the job was completed on her time line she informed us that she did not have the money to pay and would pay us on Monday. After several phone calls and 4 texts on Monday she finally texts us that she is out of the county on an emergency and would not be back for 3-4 weeks (which we found out was untrue). This is the last we have heard from the client and if there was an problems like she claims we were never told about it or given the oppertunity to correct them. We feel like this client is trying anything not to pay her bill and discredit our company. Please look at the pictures in our gallery under clients name and judge for yourself."

Having been through a remodeling before, I was a bit hesitant to upgrade the master bathroom because I knew that this project involved plumbing and the bathroom is located on the the 2nd floor. But, because Most Wanted Construction was on Angie's List, I decided to trust that things would go well. Chris and his team started on May 27th and the contract was projected to take 3 weeks for completion. Again, having been through this process before, I knew that sometimes a timeline is not always met...However, the job was done in a timely fashion and done well. Chris was always reachable if I had a question or a concern. He returned phone calls and text within 24 hours. The biggest part of the project was laying the tile. Although progress was made each week in other areas of the project, coordinating the tile guy in was a little wait but oh so worth it. Within 4 days, the tile was completed and was everything and more than I could have asked for. Even with my adding more upgrades as the project went along, all was still completed within 4 weeks. I do intend to have Chris and his crew back in the near future to work their magic in the guest bathroom. It is a pleasure to work with a knowledgeable crew who is methodical and meticulous in their work, and personable. I asked for a spa like master bathroom and I got it!!!! All I need now are new bathrobes....

We contacted Most Wanted and asked them to provide us with references which they immediately did. We visited a couple of the addresses, liked what we saw and contacted them to take a look at our house so that they could provide a more accurate estimate. Chris arrived on time and made suggestions while we walked the property. The company provided a written estimate within a couple of days and the job was scheduled. The workers they provided were good and performed their tasks well. We had to purchase more paint for a couple of the areas but they gave us plenty of notice so it did not hold up the job. They cleaned up daily and we never had to complain about them keeping the gates closed (since we have an dog). My only criticism would be that they should have sent two people for the stucco so it could have been rolled after the spray so it covered/filled in all the crevices which would have reduced the amount of paint having to be used. The overall job was very good and we would definitely use again/recommend. We have already called them back to provide an estimate on another (non paint) job.

I am so very disappointed. I had hoped that this contractor would do a good job with my small bathroom remodel so that I could hire them to do other projects around my home.
Pros:
The worker who did the tile work above my bathtub did a beautiful job. They also cleaned up after themselves after each work day.
Cons:
They came only 2 or 3 days each week, and causing this project to go on for four weeks before I couldn't take it anymore and had to let them go. On the first day of the 4th week my bathroom still didn't have a floor (the subfloor had been removed) the walls had lots of large holes in it, the electrical wasn't finished, the floor tiling wasnt' done, and the walls were not painted. We have two small boys and it was a nightmare having to give them baths since we couldn't use the bathroom to do this (much too dirty and unsafe in there.)
I was also not told that I had to purchase the materials ahead of time and wasn't given a materials list so that I knew what to buy and how much to buy for this job. I had to rely on the Home Depot associate to figure out how much tile and grout to purchase. (I thought that they were going to purchase the materials and that we would be billed for them.)
Summary: We felt like we were a very low priority job for this contractor and that other jobs took precedence over ours and that's why no one came for 4-5 days at a time. This made us feel unvalued as a customer. The new contractor that we hired to take over and finish this job was done right away and now we can truly see the difference in how we were treated as customers.

To say that the job was delayed 3-4 days because the tile wasn't there is inaccurate. I purchased all the tile and grout on the day when the worker was putting up the paper and chicken wire backing around the bathtub surround so there was no way he was going to be able to install it until the next day when it dried. The next morning Juan picked up the materials (that I paid for the day before) at Home Depot on the way to my house and proceeded to do the tile job then. To blame my husband for not having tile there, but then not even providing us with a materials list is really wrong. The time delay is because no one was scheduled to work for most of the week, not because of any miscommunication between me and my husband.
Response from Most Wanted Construction
"We initially let with the client and looked over the job. We gave this client additional discounts to fix her plaster walls that needed to be done due to the condition. We told her at that time that it would take around 3 weeks. When she canceled the job we were at 3 weeks not 4 and we had 3-4 more days of work left. We did give the husband a list of what we would need to purchase and how much tile to purchase. There was a big lack of communication between the husband and wife for this job. We would have the wife call us with something and then the husband would call and give us different information. When the contractor spoke with the husband the first day our tile guy started the work he reminded the husband that he needed to purchase the tile and our tile guy would pick it up in 2 days after he floated the shower walls. When our tile guy went to go pick up the tile we found out the client never purchased it. We tried to contact the husband but could only get a hold of the wife and she said they did not know they were suppose to purchase it. The tile was then ordered and this through the job off 3-4 days. All and all the clients were nice but difficult to work with. We were disappointed it ended up this way."
