The owner of MPG, Douglas came out to our home and did the landscaping assessment himself. He was extremely professional, courteous, and attentive as to what we were looking for in our landscaping. Douglas took notes, made suggestions then quoted me an amazing price that I could not refuse. After the initial meeting Douglas and his crew came out to our place and added a significantly sized tree, beautiful ornamental shrubs and created an entirely new flowerbed. They did an amazing job with the edging, soil placement and mulching. If you are looking for a company that truly puts its customers first and cares about the job they do, look no further than MPG Landscapes. We will not use anyone else for our landscaping needs. Absolutely Phenomenal!!!!!

Douglas and his crew were a pleasant to work with they exceeded my expectations. When i had a question the owner Douglas was just a phone call away. I will definitely be using this company again for all my lawn care and landscaping needs.

I originally reached out to Douglass because I no other landscapers would return my calls. Douglass got back to me within a few hours and he and his team were out at my property that week. Since then I haven't used anyone else for yard services. Douglass is easy to get in contact with, punctual, fairly priced, and does a great job. He's incredibly knowledgeable about plants, grass and everything having to do with landscaping, and even better you can tell he is incredibly passionate about his work and plant health in general. He always answers any question I have and takes the time to explain things. He's really been terrific to work with.

Douglas is very friendly and nice to work with. The price was very reasonable. They did a great job weeding and mulching the flower beds in the front yard.

The landscaping we inherited at our house was in rough shape, so we decided to start fresh! We had an immediate rapport with Douglass when he came to give us an estimate, and he was patient with us as we tried to articulate what we wanted. Ultimately, all we were sure of was that we didn't like what was there, we didn't want to spend a ridiculous amount to replace it, and we wanted low-maintenance replacement plants! Fortunately, that was enough for him to work with and he came back to us with a concept that we loved. As much as we love the actual landscaping (and we do!), the part of this experience that really stands out for me is Douglass's ability to spark our ideas and inspiration, and then collaborate with us to meld our budget, the realities of our yard and what will/won't work in it, and our "wish list" into something beautiful. Our front yard now has thoughtful design, color, texture, dimension, and curb appeal thanks to MPG Landscapes!

Awful experience. If you’re looking for a professional landscape company and crew, I would look elsewhere. For example, The crew shaved our Large arborvitaes then knocked on the door and asked us if this was what they were supposed to do. On another occasion, a crew member sat in his car for hours and when asked what he was doing, replied “It’s too humid to power wash.” Needless to say, we will not be hiring MPG again.

Excellent. Douglas messaged right away to let us know he would set up an appointment to come out to talk to us about a plan and a quote. Others took quite a bit more time to respond. He did not try to give us the most expensive plan when we said we were on a budget, but made great suggestions for both low maintenance and reasonable cost for a beautiful, colorful look for the front beds. He and his crew were very professional, friendly and courteous. They did a great job cleaning up after their work was done. I would definitely recommend them to others and would call on them for future work needed.

Douglass White of MPG came to my home to discuss the project and asked my goals for the property. My house is 80+ years old so has had a lot of old work done over the years, He returned with information and a three part plan and priced each part. He removed and replanted several shrubs in another area. He then planted 11 holly shrubs near the house. He planted two beautiful trees on one side of the house, planted 5 knockout rose bushes in a large open areas and planted butterfly bushes. His colleague Amy has been managing the project and planted dozens of perennials and flats of annuals for interest and color. Another completed project was moving a walk from the garage to the house to another location and planting grass where the old walk had been. Amy had her crew plant grass in the large grass free areas under large trees. My yard looks lovely. I asked them to complete Phase 2 which is to re-preposition a retaining wall that the soil has pushed out and crumbled into the driveway. Any time I call with a request or idea Douglass returns my call or text immediately. I am so pleased with the job they have done that I contracted with them, today, to maintain the landscaping - pull weeds, trim bushes, etc.

Douglass and his team were hired to install a privacy fence, sod and pavers in our backyard this spring. Overall, we had a relatively good experience with MPG. The timing of the job was a bit unique in that it began in March, but the weather was not cooperative for most of the month. This led to delays in installation of the fence and the ability to have sod cut from the farms. The biggest critique I have with Douglass and team is their communication. We often had no idea when they would be working and I was generally the one who had to initiate the contact with him to get status updates. It was almost as if he would only contact me if he had good news (i.e. no delays in getting sod, coming out to the job, etc.). Regardless, the finished product was exactly what we were looking for (photo attached) and we appreciated the hard work Douglass and team put in to finish the job. We were especially please with the fence and gate they installed. Fast forward to a month later and we had several spots in our sod that are dead (photo attached). This is after watering our grass often and following the instructions MPG provided. I contacted Douglass solely to solicit advice on how to remedy the situation and try and revive our dead spots. He initially took a week to respond and then said he would come out and take a look. Now we are nearly a month after his response to me and he has not come by to see the lawn nor has he responded to any of my follow ups. As our main goal was to get a sustainable lawn, this has been extremely disappointing. I understand it is up to the owner to sustain care for their lawn, but when you believe you are following instructions provided and taking necessary steps to care for your lawn, I was hoping I could get some additional help from MPG.

Douglas White, the owner was extremely easy to work with. Our satisfaction was his main concern. We are very pleased with the end result.

GREAT ! THEY WERE VERY PROFESSIONAL. VERY REASONABLE IN PRICE. THE OWNER WAS IN CONTACT WITH ME FROM THE BEGINNING TO THE END. THEY WILL BE THE FIRST ONE TO CALL WHEN I NEED LANDSCAING AND HARDSCAPING IN THE FUTURE.

They did great!

Office staff was nice and helpful. Workers didn't haul away all of the material that they said they would and left them on the scrap pile out front. Mulch did look nice. I do have other projects at other properties that I thought I would have them look at, but will look elsewhere first.

The grass is now very tall. They did a good job. I was impressed with their customer service. They were very prompt. I was impressed because I got a response within an hour after I left a message for them from Angie's List website. I sent 3 other providers a message and they were the first to respond. We are still talking today to see if I have questions or whatever. I've asked a lot of questions and they've explained things to me. They evened out the lawn very nicely. I thought their price was reasonable. I had one other company respond and they gave an estimate at a higher price. MPG gave me prices on the two options that I could have done. They like to be paid at the time the work is completed. I spoke to Marla, the office manager, was the first person I talked to. Tim, with the crew, and manager, Doug impressed me. Communication has been very good. I've been very happy with their service, answering my questions and their promptness. I highly recommend them.

From the start I have been very impressed with MPG's customer service and professionalism (Marla, Tim, Doug). I made several inquiries and MPG was first to respond via email within an hour or so; continued phone and email communications since. Estimate was done the next day; I received emailed quotes for both reseeding and sod options. Quote was competitive and reasonable. Crew came to do the work at appointed date/time. They were courteous, worked efficiently and later provided a sprinkler, attaching timer to the hose to water seedlings at certain hours (no worries about manually watering at prescribed hours). An instruction sheet stating what to expect and do the first few weeks was provided. It's too early to see final results (hence "N/A" answer on Quality, above) but some new green grass is peeking out of the topsoil. I was encouraged to contact MPG with any questions throughout and after the process. I certainly recommend them and would call again for future landscaping needs.

They are prompt and professional. They talked with me about how I wanted things. They gave me advice on where to put some things.

The end result is beautiful. One of our neighbors commented "Thank you. You have now raised the value of all of our houses." During the construction of the retaining walls, there were some initial issues, but Douglass (the owner) worked with us to a nice resolution. He truly cares about what your home looks like when it is done. He is pleasant to work with and so are the guys who installed everything. The second year, Douglass noticed one of the plants from the first year was not doing well, so he replaced it at his own cost. He truly is a partner.

I can't say enough good things about Douglass and his team. MPG worked on several projects for us in 2016. They were one of the few companies who actually returned my calls. They were prompt, very professional and did quality work at a fair price. We were very happy with the final product. I would highly recommend them for your landscaping and yard work needs.

We listed our house for sale and had 15 showings within the first couple days. Consistent feedback was lack of privacy in the backyard due to some new homes that had been built earlier in the year. We needed a solution quickly in order to sell the house for the price we wanted. We reached out to several landscapers on Angie's List and most never responded, or those who did said to contact them again in the spring which was obviously not an option for us and they had clearly not read our email explaining the urgency of the situation. Douglass with MPG got back to us right away and came out within a day or two. He gave us two options for immediate privacy and said he could move some other jobs around in order to complete the work within a week. They worked on the weekend and got the job done within days which was very much appreciated! Due to some underground lines, the plan changed but Douglass and his crew worked with it. Also Douglass was out with his crew everyday and came by for a final inspection. The only hiccup was one tree came in contact with the exhaust of the bobcat and had a fairly large brown spot; Douglass sent his crew out and they replaced the tree at no additional cost a couple days after I emailed to let them know. They also provided a one year warranty on the health of the trees that we could pass along to the buyer. When it came time to settle the balance, I pointed out that we had 10 trees and not 12 which is what was included on the original invoice/proposal. The original proposal was for 12 trees at $500 each ($6,000 total) including topsoil to create a mound, landscape fabric, mulch, and grass seed. The reason I was told that we didn't receive 12 trees was that they were wider than he originally planned and he quoted the job as a whole rather than by individual tree. We reached a compromise of $5,428.75. Overall, they really helped us out in a pinch, Douglass and his crew were very pleasant, and the trees did provide a privacy screen as intended. We had a showing the afternoon they finished planting the trees and ended up selling the house to those buyers.

Looks good so far. Done at end of summer.

He sold us like he was really good in terms of personality and stuff and then when the job was done, it wasn’t done well and then he got offended when we started saying problems about it. The goal of our backyard make over was to make it a safe and fun pace for our kids to play. We have twin toddlers and older kids 7 and 8, there was a patio out back that we wanted to take out and there were these Steele bars keeping the patio in place because it was uneven rock. The first time he did the back yard he left a lot of them in and it started poking through the side. We wanted him to come in and make it safe for our kids not make it a trip hazard or potentially something worse because there was steel rocks hanging out of the ground and he cut them off and made them sharper.   He agreed to come back and he had to redo the whole yard basically, so all the work he had done he had to take apart and redo.  The second time around he did the job correctly. It wasn't the best price and it wasn't the worst.

I can't say enough good about Douglass White and his entire crew and I'm ashamed it took me so long to write this review. Mr. White came out, took photos of the area, spent a lot of time talking with me about how I wanted it to look. and then presented me with several computer renderings of possible designs. He is a most pleasant person and easy to work with as was his crew. I've had many compliments on my backyard and what a wonderful sanctuary it is. Mr. White and I were both so pleased with how it turned out. I plan to have them tackle the front yard next spring.
