We found MP Home Repair on Angi's list and hired him because of great reviews. He was very friendly and personable, but they do sloppy work and don't take accountability for doing a bad job. 1. MP Home repair put in our Kerdi system in our shower and did the tile work on top of the Keri system. Its been 2 years and our shower is now leaking into the room below. We have contacted plumbers and they've identified the issue not as a plumbing issue, but in the way the system was installed. We then reached out to Marcos & MP Home Repair to fix the issue and they took no accountability for installing the system incorrectly. Their excuse was "the time frame was beyond their warranty". If you installed things correctly, they wouldn't need this arbitrary "rule". 2. We hired them to tile our bathroom, and they got the floor pattern wrong despite it being sheets of tile. They didn't trim the tile where the tile hits the wall, but just removed tiles making empty spots full of grout. To sum it up - don't trust this company with your home improvement needs. The work will be done poorly and they will take no accountability for their mistakes. You are better off doing it yourself or finding a different contractor because you will be needing one to fix what they did.

I have been working with Marcos for many years on many projects. recently he helped me to renovate 3 bathrooms and complete my un-finished basement. the quality is good with reasonable price. will hire him again.

Great! They were very careful and even salvaged some tiles and pieces that we weren’t sure they would be able to. Marcus was great to work with and had good advice. Would hire them again! Also worth noting: we called around to make sure the price was in line with what others would charge for the same service, and it was at or below other quotes. In other words, we feel confident we got the best price/quality of service.

Marcos and his team are kind, responsible and reliable. His price is unbeatable and his service is worth every penny you spent. He helped me pick up stuffs from Home Depot multiple times without any extra charge or complaint. Some previous reviews mentioned their communication may be an issue but that was never a problem for me. You just need to be a little patient. Treating the screw nicely and they will repay your kindness. I highly recommend Marco’s service.

I have used MP home repair for several projects since moving into a condo in 2019. They have done tile work in the kitchen, bathroom work, reversed doors, and two ceiling repairs. Always polite, efficient and resonably priced. The most recent job was a ceiling repair where the dryer vent had collected condensation and leaked through.

MP Home Repairs has handled all repairs and remodeling at church where I am property manager since 2018. Most recently they removed a ceiling track system where a portable sound proof wall had existed. The work was done efficiently, professionally and at a reasonable cost.

Hello, Marcus and his daughter have this fraudulent company. I try to keep it short. He did not show up for work for first three times that we made an appointment. I knew something was wrong and I was very worried because I had already paid 1/3 of the price which was $1000. Then he brough someone else to do the ceramic work. The ceramic guy did a great job, and Marcus said that the $2000 out of the $3000 is for the ceramic work. So, at the end of ceramic work, I gave him another $1000, so he can pay the ceramic guy. It turned out later that he promised only $1100 to the ceramic guy with a check, which later he retrieved and did not pay that poor guy at all!! Then, there were a few small handyman work that he needed to finish and get the last $1000. But guess what, he could not even do a simple door knob change! He is a fraud. DO NOT PAY HIM ANYTHING BEFORE HE FINISHES YOUR PROJECTS! not even for the material because he will run off with whatever you give him. He also used the bathroom with open door and do not respect women!

Bathroom Renovations & Entryway Tiling

Marcos Pena seemed OK, but service and communication was awful. No communication as to when I would receive a contract, after a timeline was clearly stated. When I called to verify, I was told this afternoon. Long delay in answering questions. Obvious, they are unorganized. I was given a choice to pick up materials at Home Depot, and just provide company telephone number. When I arrived at Home Deport MP Home Repair not in the system. Never heard of them. Additionally, my competent contractor measured and found the measurements for tiling to be incorrect. Imagine that! Unprofessional, and lacking in both communication and capacity. Save yourself the trouble and aggravation.

Very, very happy to have worked with MP Home Repair. They were committed, open to suggestions, and reliable. Marcos, the project manager, was on top of all the details and very easy to talk to. They showed up on time, worked hard, made valuable suggestions. Will hire them for my next project.

Marcos and his crew did an EXCELLENT job repairing our basement after we had water damage to the floor/walls. They installed new insulation, repaired the drywall, painted the entire basement, and installed a tile floor. They also repaired a leaky shower in the basement bathroom. Marcos is the nicest, most accommodating (he came by at 6pm for the initial estimate to accommodate my work schedule) and most honest contractor I've ever dealt with and he and his crew worked very hard and very fast. They showed up on time every day and worked long hours. My basement looks better now than it did before it was flooded! I totally recommend them and will 100% use MP Home Repair in the future.

After my plumber removed the tiles to repair a leaking water pipe in my bathroom shower, I had to have the tiles replaced. Marcos Pena was very professional in doing this work- I was pleased with the result and the fact that he kept me informed on the process. I would definitely hire him again.

This was a great experience. Marcos Pena is professional along with his team. The job was done with great detail and looks amazing. All of the projects were done in a timely manner, and Marcos made sure I was happy with the work. The company was easy to work with and I will only be calling them for future work. I am looking to re-model my kitchen and he will be the one I will be calling. I am in the customer service business and this is some of the best service I have gotten. He also brought treats to my dog that his daughter makes. Just amazing!!!!!!

I contracted with MP Home repair to perform a partial remodeling of my kitchen. I had an old built in island that housed a non-functional second oven I wanted removed. Additionally, I wanted to replace the old gas range and electric oven with an all gas range and oven, and replace the tile, overhead light, and backsplash. Mr. Pena gave me a competitive quote for the labor on the demolition, tile work, and oven installation. He directed me to a nearby tile store, and my wife and I picked out the tile and backsplash we wanted and had it delivered to the house. Mr. Pena got us a 20% discount on the tile, which made the material costs very competitive. We chose a ceramic tile for the floor and glass subway tiles for the backsplash. It was a more expensive product, but the quality and look of the glass is superlative. I found the gas range we wanted arranged to have it delivered. I coordinated with Mr Pena prior to his start date and had everything lined up. Mr Pena arrived on time on the first day, set up drop clothes, and set to work on the demolition. He and his team got everything broken down and out the first day with minimal dust outside of the work area. The next day went very smoothly with the tile and backsplash going in and the existing appliances reinstalled. On the third day, we hit a snag when the gas line out of the wall extended to far into the space where the new range would go. It would require moving the gas line along the interior wall and a cut behind the cut-off valve to be performed by a certified gas plumber. I highlight this as most contractors would have tossed this back in my court to solve. Instead, Mr Pena picked up his phone and made a couple of calls and had someone over later that day. The plumber he referred was professional, efficient, and very reasonable for the same day service. It kept the project on track and fell within my contingency budget. On the fourth day, I decided to up-size the project slightly and passed the installation of the kitchen light and painting over to Mr Pena's team. They did an excellent job, and I thought their paint job was better than the professional painters I had paint the kitchen three years ago. On the fifth and final day, everything was done except for the final installation of the stove. It turned out that I had a range on top of an oven and not a fully integrated unit. The space cut for the range was actually 1/4 inch too short on both sides. Again, Mr Pena made some calls and got a contractor experienced in countertops to come over the next day and look at cutting the countertop in place. They arrived promptly the next day and again for a reasonable price, considering the next day service, made the cuts. On Sunday, Mr. Pena came back to my house first thing in the morning to install the oven and complete some baseboard painting. I've had several positive experiences from the contractors I have used on Angie's list, but I would say MP Home Repair and Mr. Pena are exceptional and in a league of their own. Above all of the normal attributes you would want in a contractor, Mr Pena is effective in solving problems when they arise and doing it efficiently and at a reasonable price through his referral sources. I am definitely going to use him for future jobs, and he'll be my first choice when we look to remodel or downstairs bedroom and bathroom in late 2019.

Marcos had already done a bathroom for me so this was a no-brainer. Notice the before and after photos. We had an original yellow bathroom that my husband loves to use because our master bathroom is 5x7. Wecalled Marcos and we negotiated a fair price. My job was to pick all the details and handle the shower doors on my own. They removed a tub and we made a shower. We placed everything from toilet, vanity, vanity lighting, added a shower light, a Panasonic fan that is so quiet you don’t know it is on. They tiled the floors, shower floor and walls (tile from BF Ceramics) and all the fixtures (Somerville Kitchen and Bath). They would have finished the bath in 10 days but I had a delay, once again with the vanity, then I had to leave town. The shelving in the pics will be stained the color of the vanity when they come back, once I pick a stain. This crew aims to please. The Moen shower fixture was sticking out too far and they fixed that. Moen’s instructions are incorrect but they handled in stride. The price is the labor and construction type items. I controlled my expenses by managing the cost of tile, grout, trim, toilet, vanity, plumbing fixtures including the diverter, etc. Well, I have the master bathroom and a deck I need to replace. I particularly like working with Marcos because when he commits to doing a job, he is your whole focus. When I got estimates from other folks everyone wanted to take 3-4 months to finish. Marcos finished under 10 days if we don’t count the delays on my part with that darn vanity.

Marcos and his team did a fabulous job on my renovations. They were quick to respond and were very efficient. This was my first time finding a contractor and having renovations in my place and they made it a smooth process. Anything that I brought up was immediately addressed. I recommend them to anyone in the future!

We have been extremely happy with the MP Home Repair company and their work. We found them through Angie’s List and hired them early in May 2018 to do a complete bathroom renovation, ripping out and replacing tile walls, tile floors, the old tub, etc. in a 1950-60's era home. They had only about two weeks to complete the project because we were on a tight time schedule. They came through with flying colors. They showed up on time every morning, and the project came in right at the original estimated cost. During the course of the renovation, we asked them to do an additional job for an extra charge, which they happily agreed to do. A few weeks ago we hired them again for another job, this time for a partial renovation of a side porch. They replaced the porch posts, the roof, porch ceiling, and some of the flooring planks where needed. We've been very satisfied with their work for both projects. Marco Pena and his crew have been attentive, accommodating, and easy to communicate with. We can't say enough good things about the company and will hire them again for future projects.

Although Marcos and his scheduler were very nice and easy to work with, I was very disasspointed with the quality of the paint job for a 10x12 bedroom. The paitner was over 2.5 hours late. I had to keep calling to check on his status. Julisa (sp?), his scheduler, was very apologetic and worked on providing me with updates on the painter's arrival status. However, it didn't change the fact that it threw off my entire schdule for the day and the next week since I then had to reschedule other appointments to accommate the painter's tardiness. I appreciated the fact the Marcos gave me an immediate discount to the agreed upon price, but I was extremely disappointed with the quality of the work. The edging and trim work was some of the worst I've ever seen; you can see from the pictures that the paitner did not cover the exisitng blue color at all. This evident all around the baseboards. I called Marcos that evening, and he offered to come back and fix it. Unfortunately, I couldn't find a time for him ro come back that would work with my schedule. I like to support local businesses, and I had high hopes with Marcos and his company's reviews. Unfortunately, this job did not work out for us.

Very, very, well. Since this was a rental property I was looking for someone who not only did good work but could complete the job quickly. The tenant wasn't too happy to share her bathroom with her son. Marcos came by the next day o give me an estimate and he was ready to go to work almost immediately. I had to wait a few days because I still need the drywall and painting to be completed. From the time I first called them to the time the work was completed it was exactly one week. I'm happy with the results and I would definitely use them again.

Marcos was professional and attentive to what I had to say. He advised me on materials and styles and everything expected was clearly on the estimate. Work was outstanding. He came after the job was completed to mke sure I was happy with everything.
