Replaced ice maker and valve. 3 days after repair ice maker started leaking a continuous stream of water. Returned and said valve shorted out due to internal short. Did not fix. I replaced valve. Works fine.

I have tried to contact the owner but again had no luck with that. I would not give this company anything but an F on everything . My husband and I have been in the service business for 40+ years and we are very aware of customer satisfaction. Obviously these people don't care.
Mr. Appliance repairman was late. The diagnosis cost was supposed to go towards the repair of the broken microwave or the installation of the new one that I purchased. The repairman declined to install the microwave because it didn't have the print needed to mark the holes on the cabinet. This issue should have been discussed before scheduling the appointment. I was disappointed with the overall experience and will not use them again.

They came to fix our refrigerator. The service people were pleasant and professional. They needed to order a part which they returned in a few days to install. A month later there was another problem. They returned and fixed that too - with a credit for the previous bill. We were happy with the repair and service. We definitely recommend them.

They called back and kept us aware of the appointment. I can think of anything we weren't satisfied with. The quality of their work was fine.

The first company that came out said they couldn't work on the dishwasher because it was an LG made Kenmore and they didn't work on LGs. They suggested Mr Appliance. I called them and they came out the same day. The repairman was very good and was able to complete the repair without new parts. I'll be calling them for all future appliance repairs.

The tech worked the coin out and made sure that was the only problem that was keeping the water from exiting the machine. He also made sure that he did not leave any water on the floor. He answered questions about the same brand's dishwasher that I have and gave me an inexpensive trick to try before asking for a repair date. He arrived on time and worked carefully.

The initial call was handled well. They were friendly and pleasant. I was given a four hour window for the estimate, and they came within the window. The estimator was also pleasant and respectful of my home. They told me they would call when the part was in to schedule the repair. I had to call them instead. The repairman was in my house less than five minutes to install the gasket, and when he was done, the door to the dishwasher stuck and would not close. It is still difficult to close the door completely on the first try.

So, I was checking my bank statement when it occurred to me that I had spent $170 on a repair that took less than 15 minutes, and that two of those repairs would cost more than a new dishwasher. (I know because I checked prices for new dishwashers before I called for the repair, and again after).

I think the cost of this repair was hugely inflated, and they did not follow up the estimate with the call to schedule the repair as promised. I think it is the case of a business being penny wise and pound foolish. They made a great margin on this sale, but lost a customer for anything else that might need repair in my home.
Response from Mr. Appliance of Richmond
"Thank you for your input. At Mr. Appliance of Chesterfield we do appreciate input from our customers. Unfortunately in this case, we do have some concerns with this post. First, when parts do have to be ordered, we do call the customer when the parts are received. The customer does not have to call to check on their parts. Second, we do offer upfront pricing. This means the customer is made aware of and agrees to all charges associated with a repair prior to the work being performed. There are no surprises for our customers. Our third and final concern regarding this post is this. The customer called our office after an obvious successful repair in an attempted to have our company refunding their repair cost. The customer claimed their credit card had been charged twice. We did check and this was not the case. When this request did not work, the customer requested an additional discount or she would give our company a "bad review" on Angie's list. No additional discount was given. This kind of attempt is unacceptable. We enjoy helping people with their appliance repair needs. We provide prompt, professional and courteous service with upfront pricing so there are no surprises for our customers. Unfortunately, in this case we were the ones’ surprised."

I had a faulty dishwasher and used Angies List to suggest a possible repair specialist. This firm was highly rated, so I setup an appointment. The repairman came as scheduled... and was prompt, professional, and courteous. So far, so good. He diagnosed the problem and informed me that the part would need to be ordered and a return visit setup. I agreed to the price and authorized this. Wrinkle #1 occurred at this point, as he told me that he would schedule the followup in my behalf, and gave me the date and time of his return. The date and time arrived, but no repairman appeared. I called the company when he was over an hour past the time he gave me. They informed me that he couldn't setup an appointment in the first place, and furthermore that the part had not arrived yet for the repairwork needed. They were apologetic, but not overly friendly. The part arrived magically the next day and the firm called as promised to schedule the final repair. The same repairman arrived as scheduled. He was his usual professional and courteous self. The repair was made. Wrinkle #2: the dishwasher still had the same problem upon first use after he left (4 or 5 days hence)... sigh! I called the company again. They were courteous and setup yet another visit by the same repairman. He arrived as scheduled and found yet another faulty mechanism in my unit. I was a bit nonplused that the unit wasn't fixed the first time, but he took the time to explain why he had not discovered this particular issue the first go-round, and his version sounded reasonable (he would have had to run the dishwasher cycle much longer than a "quick check" of the system normally allowed for the second bad part to show its defect.... it worked for awhile, but eventually overheated). He was very apologetic and waived all labor charges regarding this and the future visit (new part needed to be ordered too) and even cut a percentage off the part as well.... fair enough. Wrinkle #3: he promised to come out any hour I needed him to when the part arrived.... evening, weekend, etc. When the part came in and the company called to schedule though, they only gave me the standard business hours as an option for the second part installation. I chose one and my same technician returned. The dishwasher got repaired and after a number of washings now seems to be performing well. To sum my experience, this company was professional and the repairman courteous and prompt. I'm in the middle on his knowledge, since it took several visits to get it right, and I certainly think the company and the technician weren't on the same page in regards to servicing/scheduling policies (the technician did tell me that he had only been employed with them for 6 months). With hindsight, had I known that 2 parts were defective, I probably would have opted to just replace the entire unit too, but once I'd paid $200 for the first part, another $50 was essentially a nonissue. Overall, I still like this company, but not as much as I had hoped to. I would consider other options as well in the future.

They said it needed parts that it didn't need and it was kind of a messy relationship. They were nice. They didn't charge the last time they came out but they also didn't fix it. The first time they said we needed a new timer. They replaced it and it still didn't work. The second time they said we needed a new relay. They replaced that and it still didn't work. The third time they said we needed a new board. It wasn't worth it to spend anymore on a dryer and we told them we would have to think about it because we had wasted a lot of money with them. We wouldn't use them again. They were decent about it and they said they wouldn't charge the last time if we didn't put the board in. They were decent people.

I called Mr. Appliance on Tuesday and were given a next-day appointment and told there would be a $79.95 service fee; but we were also told that if only cleaning was needed, there would be no additional charge and that if parts were needed the cost would be deducted from the fee. He arrived on time and spent about an hour cleaning the machine and checking the wash cycles. True to what was said prior, there was no additional charge and he even fixed the broken handle on our oven door at no additional charge. This is the type of service "we remember" from the "good old days." I recommend fully.

I called on Tuesday afternoon. They gave me an approximate time of 9am the next morning. The repairman arrived at exactly 8:55am. He gave me a quote and I approved the repair which was a seal that needed to be replaced. He was finished in 45 minutes. He was very careful to not harm my floors and other surfaces. Extremely professional.

The day my refrigerator went out MrAppliance came out the same day. They sent me an email with a photo ID of the technichian to make me feel comfortable about opening my door! The technichian was neat and respectful of my home. He repaired my frig within an hour and I lost no food! It was a great experience.
