This was an Angies Deal. Initial call and schedule for review of work went fine. Owner reviewed work to be done to make sure it could be done in the alloted time and we discussed date for work to be performed. I was told I would receive confirmation from their office of the date. As the date approached and I still did not receive any confirmation I contacted the office. It took several tries before I was able to speak to anyone. The date was confirmed. The owner showed up again thinking this was the initial walk through. He apologized and indicated he had an issue with his office staff. To his credit he was able to get workers in from another site that day. The workers put door knobs on backwards (locks on the wrong side of the door). After this was pointed out they redid them which cut into the time alloted. They had problems finding the studs in the wall for hanging the pictures. After they put multiple holes in the wall for just one picture I provided my own "stud finder" tool. The faucet that was tightened was once again loose in a very short period of time.

It went terrible. He hired guys that did not know how to hang cabinets or molding. I had to hire someone else to rehang the cabinets and I had to buy new molding. I had a leak with the appliances and had to hire emergency plumbing services. I have been told the vent is incorrect and has to be redone.

The painting looks wonderful (and I'm very picky). They were able to get everything done quickly and efficiently. We are really happy with the finished product.
I was overall satisfied. I had him come back a couple of times. He came back right away. He wanted to make sure I was satisfied with the work he had done. They were on time. The price was fairly negotiated.

I contacted them and set a date for them to come over and review the jobs required. He arrived on time, prepared to take measurements etc. and then told me what I would need to provide them and what the final costs should be since it was over the hours purchased from Angies. We set a date and time for them to do the work.

they arrived on time and went right to work.

ISince I am a DYIer i knew what it would take to do the job and what they needed to do so that it was done correctly.

All of the work they did met or exceeded my expectations. The plasterwork, which I do not do well, was done extremely well and you could tell that he takes pride in his work.

We were very pleased with the work and would rehire.

The work was fine. I am not sure I will use the company again, they were pretty disorganized, although they were very friendly, and very nice. The work was good, it was solid. They tried to charge us a different rate than we had agreed upon, they tried to overcharge us for the number of hours worked, but when I called about it, they were helpful and changed everything. They didn't inform the workman of some specifics of the job, and so he was unprepared, it was not his fault. The work was good, but the management was not. I am sure their price was comparable, but we had to pay for more hours, because the man came unprepared, because he was not informed about the job. I think we ended up paying more than we should have. I think the hourly rate would have been appropriate had he been prepared.

They did fine. There were no complaints. Everything was acceptable. They were on time. We didn't have any problems getting them here when they said they'd be here.

NOTE: AS OF 3/28/14, ALL WORK DISCUSSED BELOW HAS BEEN REDONE WITH THE EXCEPTION OF THE SOFT CLOSE MECHANISMS AND HALF OF THE CABINET HANDLES. Some we did ourselves, but we also had to pay folks to fix some of the items and, in every case, were told that whoever did the prior work actually created more work in repairing than if the new folks had originally come in to do the work.

----------------------------------------------------------

We purchased a Big Deal for handyman services and they did a horrible job. We sent the following email directly to the provider with no response.
I want to give you feedback on our handyman appointment today. An overall response would be slow and sloppy work. While it was two people for app. 4.5 hours, we are simply astonished at the little amount of work that was done and not at all impressed by the quality of the work.

One person spent 4.5 hours doing just the following:

1) Hooked-up plumbing for one sink. I note that nothing was redone, just connected even though Juan, and others before him, indicated that the plumbing would need to be redone); We had new granite and sink installed and were told the plumbing did not ?match-up? and would need to be redone; Whether the current work holds or leaks remains to be seen, but I am not optimistic? time will tell. [UPDATE: It leaked. As I told them, it did not quite match-up so the installation was crooked and, apparently, they did not use plumbers cement at all?just caulk?so it leaked and the person doing the repair work had to remove all the caulk before he could put it back together properly.]

- Juan told me I would need some parts, which he identified and I purchased (what the HD person thought he was talking about anyway) and the workers did not use any of these parts.

- The workers themselves actually had me go purchase primer and cement, which they did not use.

2) Put handles on 3 drawers, 4 cabinet doors, and 1 false drawer front AND the other person helped with this as well. I also note that they told me the shortest screws that came with the handles were too long for the 3 drawers. They indicated they could cut the screws down but I told them not to do that and to just drill the holes and I would get smaller screws and attach the handles on my own. They sort of shortened the screws anyway and installed the handles--although none of the handles are tight and one is not even close to fitting properly. On top of that, they used a drill/driver to attach the handles in the drawers and stripped the vast majority of the screws to the point that a person would cut their hand if they came in contact with the screws? Now I have to remove these stripped screws and replace all of them.

The other person spent 4.5 hours doing just the following (don?t get too excited by the number of bullets):

A) Removed a pedestal sink (the faucet was already removed so it was just the sink) and spackled the wall where the sink was attached. I note that he did also remove the P trap HOWEVER he left the curved pipe coming out of the wall facing down which is a big no-no. Nothing was sanded

B) Installed soft-close mechanism on 4 cabinet doors

C) Spackled wall area where 5-inch floor trim piece came off and took some of the drywall off with it. I explained this happened because the trim piece was a little bit too long so needed to be shortened a little bit before reinstalling, and sanding the unfinished edge a bit would probably be enough. He did not sand the spackled area before reattaching the trim piece AND he did not shorten the trim piece and did not remove the old drywall and adhesive that was still attached to the trim before reattaching it to the wall. I had him remove the trim and we will finish this very small ?project? on our own.

D) Spackled 3 nail pops and 1 cracked area on our master bath ceiling. Nothing was sanded.

E) Spackled area where curtain rod holder came out of wall. The hole was about the size of a quarter and he spackled a nearly 10?x10? area INCLUDING getting spackle on 6-inches+ of our crown molding. He reattached the curtain rod holder without sanding the spackled area. I had him remove the curtain rod holder and we will finish this very small ?project?on our own? and this is the point where I told them to pack up as they were done.

I was here the entire time, but was not watching over their shoulders and I simply have no idea what they could have been doing the entire time they were here. Take away connecting the plumbing and I--by myself--could have finished more work in 4.5 hours than two of your people did. We are not pleased.

Initially, they contacted me by email and them called to try to get the work scheduled. The delay in scheduling of the work was because of me and not their fault. They showed up at the agreed upon time and did a good job on all of my jobs.

I bought a Bid Deal for 5 hours before I knew exactly what I wanted. There was a pin hole leak in the wall, I needed drywall put in. After going back in forth for a while, I finally got him to come out. He finished the work but when you put up drywall you have to let it cure for 24hrs. and then come back and finish sanding. He came back yesterday without Fernado and told me they would come back out today between 9-930am, they still haven't shown up or gotten in contact with me. I would really like them to come back and finish the job. They used the 5hrs and now when they come back it will be at my expense. Now I think they won't come back out.

** Update on 3/13/14 They ended up coming out this morning and completed the sanding which I paid an additional for. I would not recommend them, mainly due to communication. There should be better communication between a client and the service provider, I should not have to ask 3 times for them to come back.

First of all it was almost impossible to get Mr Constructor to return emails and or phone calls. After contacting Angies List directly Jesus called me and came over to review the project. I had to delay a week for personal items. When they did come to drywall in my closet the amount of supplies they had me buy was way to much, they did what they could in the six hours but just left the job partially finished. Clean up was terrible, just put all left over items in our laundry room, never called about completing the project. I cut my losses and finished the project myself.

There was a little problem getting the work scheduled, but once it was scheduled, they showed up on time, did the work, cleaned up well, and the work was high quality. I was pleased with the work and would hire them again.
