will never hire again
Response from Mr Do All Handyman Services
"it seems to me this customer is repeatedly giving me an "f" to try to lower my rating. I was never hired by this customer to do a remodel and I never walk away from a job. They seem to be upset by the action that occurred from their tenant not being available and want to blame me. It's ok. I have a reputation that is withstanding above and beyond this. I was never hired nor told/called about a remodel job on a bathroom or kitchen or any other room of any kind. This is the same customer who gave me the last "f". Hopefully this behavior will not continue so we can move on. Thank you"

The man and his son were on time and finished the job in a timely manner. We feel they were fair and we felt they could do about anything handyman realted.

Overall the job went well. He did, however, fail to show up on the originally scheduled date saying he was sick. He showed up the next day bright and early. He and his assistant worked quickly and cleanly and we are very pleased with his work. We had no clean up to do ourselves and what would have taken us days to complete, he did quickly. He has obvious expertise and made suggestions to us as the job went along. We are happy with his work and would glady hire him again. Unlike what the previous poster stated, he never asked to be paid in cash. We found him to be personable and professional.

First of all, we chose Mr. Do-All because of his review on Angies List. I realize this will be his first negative review, and it is definitely worth considering. The first day he showed up at 11:30 after telling us he would be at our home between 9 and 10. Not such a huge deal, but we do have two small children, and it's difficult enough planning a day around contractors in your home when they're on time, much less when they're late. He quoted us a price of between $1600 and $2000 for the work, and it was quickly apparent he had every intention of getting $2000 for his services, even after the project was supposedly "moving along faster than anticipated". Even this wasn't a huge deal, as we did agree on a maximum of $2000, so I understood. Our real issue was the quality of his work and asking to be paid in full well before the project was complete. Paint colors didn't match, caulking was peeling off everywhere, seems in crown molding were painted over without being sanded down, freshly painted doors were full of bugs, dust, and bumpy paint (from some kind of sprayer I assume), chunks grout and small pieces of baseboard were left laying around after they were gone for the day (I have two small children, this was a significant concern). All but 2 items on a 15 item list were half done after four days of work. Add to all of this that he wanted to be paid in cash at the end of every day, trying to collect the FULL AMOUNT DUE way before anything was completed. Honestly, I consider us reasonable people with reasonable expectations, and this guy should be avoided. Also, apparently "pay in cash" means "under the table" to him. I realize some people do this, but that was not my intent. I offered to pay him in cash because he asked, and being a small business owner myself, I'm well aware of the hassle a check sometimes causes. When I asked him for a receipt he initially refused, claiming that we made a deal to "pay in cash" (which, again, meant to him that no receipt would be provided). I was able to get him to agree to sending a receipt after police were involved (he wanted his tools in my garage, I wanted a receipt, so the police were called), but time will tell if I actually receive it. Finally, I paid him cash to get materials to complete the project and he walked off with many of them, refusing to finish reviewing the receipt with me to verify I had everything. Total nightmare! If questioned about this review he will claim that he planned on finishing everything up the last day, before we kicked him off of the project, and that it would have been perfect. My wife and I desperately wanted to get this done, and if I really felt he was capable of finishing this project within reasonable expectations regarding quality of work, I would have let him finish. Our house is in worse shape than we started and I'm out $1150 + $500 materials. Do not make the same mistake.

great. He could not keep our initial appointment due to a water heater emergency :( and didn't call, but after we rescheduled everything was fine. He explained why he was doing what he did, did the work, tidied up. Even gave me an estimate on tile work and showed me some photos of his work

the job began on time using his son as a helper. They removed old plywood flooring and replaced it with OSB tongue and groove flooring. They impressed me with their forethought before starting the job as the logistics were complicated by wiring and previously installed storage component. All the measurements and custom cuts came out perfect and when finished the floor was capable of being covered with tile or linoleum. I supplied the OSB and they provided the wood screws (no nails) and tools.

When I called I spoke with Rob. He answered the phone on the 2nd ring. I got a bid that evening. Rob was able to come and re-do my bathroom. He fit me into his schedule and I am happy with the overall service.
