Drywall - Repair
I have used this service before with reasonable results but today was ridiculous. I booked for a few to-dos around the house: drywall repairs and hanging 2 light fixtures. They gave me a quote for it which would have been okay if the work was done well. The drywall needed small sheetrock patches not mesh and sparkle but that's what he did. The guy apologized, said he wasn't an electrician and couldn't do either light replacement. Then tried to charge me over $600 for a poorly done job with is guess maybe $20 in materials. When I balked at the price, they took an hour off labor because he just was standing around waiting for sparkle to dry and figure out what to do about the lights. I am appalled, I could tell the worker was embarrassed. It was all around disappointing. Never again.

Bath Exhaust Fan - Install
I recently had a bathroom exhaust fan installed through Mr. Handyman, and as a returning customer, I expected the same level of service I?d received in the past. Unfortunately, this experience was extremely disappointing
The job was to install a new exhaust fan I had already purchased and run the ducting to the outside of the house so it would no longer vent into the attic. The electrician spent 2.5 hours installing the fan and told me the only remaining step was to purchase a dryer vent duct to connect the fan to the exhaust port he said he had already cut.
After being charged approximately $600, I went into the attic to measure how much ducting I needed?only to discover that no exhaust port had been cut at all. When I contacted customer service, I was told it would cost an additional $250 to cut the hole, despite the electrician stating that this work had already been completed and included in the original charge. Excellent! The guys (Kevin and Stephon) were on time, fast, under estimate, and the work was perfect. They raised the cabinets, and setup the washer and dryer with the new pedestals. The phone estimate was between $300 and $800; the actual cost was below $300. Outstanding!

I found Mr. Handyman to be a very professional service. They answered the phone when I originally called in a prompt, efficient, and courteous manner. Their method of charging (i.e. time and materials) was clearly explained and an "estimate" of what the final cost would be was provided. The appointment for the repair work was made at the time of the call, and a follow-up email was received confirming the appointment. The serviceman arrived as scheduled and did a great job on repairing my water-damaged ceiling.

I had some work in 2 bathrooms done. From new vanities to mirrors and lighting, toilets, a shower and flooring. Zack and Brian did an outstanding job. Then I had some work done in my kitchen and a ramp removed and Walker steps added in. Yancy and Greg did an excellent job. Scott oversaw all the work done, went shopping with me, made suggestions and advised. I could not have found a better team to work on my home if I tried. Friendly, professional and great sense of humors. On time, in a clearly marked vans, wearing shirts with the company logo, so you know who they are when they arrive. The estimates were given in advance and everything was explained, so I understood what was happening, and when it was happening. I absolutely loved my teams, and so did my dog Chloe Belle!! I had the tile ready. The work took about 13hrs, but would have been longer if not for the help of a second person to prep the floors. I had a well glued linoleum floor previously, so an extra 4hrs were needed to prep for the tile. Zac and Charles did excellent work. Both were professional, clean, and detailed for excellent work. Love my new bathroom!
