Alan is very good at what he does (which is just about everything!)The quality of his workmanship is excellent. His prices were quite reasonable and he came highly recommended by friends.

<p><br /></p> <p>Mr. Mom helped us save costs by painting some of his leftover gutter materials so they would not clash with the rental house, and finished the job quickly so we could have it done before more rainstorms caused flooding in the basement.</p> <br />

Excellent! He installed the railing on very short notice. He is very difficult to contact but if you get him on site, he will do a good job. He is inexpensive and worth the effort. I will use this provider again. <br />

He did a very nice job and a wonderful job.  They did it fast and they were prompt.  The estimate was exactly what they said it would be.  The price was very good.

Very professional, cleaned up after themselves, very quality work.  They had offered me two options for the project, the point of which was to enlarge the area in the stairwell to make it easier to move things up and down to the second floor.  One option was simply to put in a larger, taller door (which option I took), but they also offered to move the staircase and shorten the landing.  The estimate separated the two options so I could choose which or both I wanted.  I have a larger project in mind for this summer, so I will be calling them for this as well. <br />

Alan is a trustworthy guy who wants to make his customers happy.  For big jobs, he works with a friend, and both of them together can do essentially anything (including basic electrical and basic plumbing).  We first hired him to remodel our bathroom.  It included tearing a wall down and expanding it so a bath could fit in the room.  They also had to tear down a 150 year old brick chimney in the process.  They installed a new vanity, built a shelving unit into the wall and put in the lighting.  The finished product was good.  The room was not square, but the house is built in 1836, so I don't know if anyone could have done that.   <br /> Next, we had him install a railing on our stairs.  This came out great no complaints.   <br /> He then installed a bedroom with laminate flooring and also the stair landing.  This job was not as clean, some of the floor trim was not edged and the lines of the wood running from the bedroom to the stair landing were not flush.  These negatives though were a result of a positive - that is, for this job, he worked from dusk until sun up because he had other jobs/commitments later in the week.  He is an extremely hard worker.  For this job we traded the finishing touches for timely completion - and overall the finished product was still good.   <br /> The last major job was the sheetrocking in between our beams downstairs.  <br /> In most jobs, there was a little clean up I had to do - pieces of wood from the carpentry of the bathroom left in a crawlspace, horsehair plaster or sheetrock left crumbled on the floor.  They forgot to include thresholds in the bathroom and bedroom jobs as well.  HOWEVER,  whenever I spoke with Alan about any of this, anything I had not already done, he came over promptly and fixed/completed/cleaned it.  He was reachable and kind and we trusted him.  He said a few times that he wanted to make sure we were happy.   <br /> We called him on two or three separate occasions because he is a hard worker, he is trustworthy and his price is reasonable.  We would call him again for sure.   <br /> <br /> <br />

He’s an excellent guy, he did a great job. I got it installed and it works quite well and it was not an easy job. He had to do some adaptation of the door.

We had a great experience. Materials were sourced in a budget-friendly way and all three projects were completed in a single afternoon. Mr. Mom and his wife were professional, clean and efficient. I would definitely hire them again for similar projects.

Alan came out to look at the site and do some measurements.  Then we communicated several times by email.  He was very good at keeping me informed of his schedule and the likely date he could complete the project.  He came out when he promised, and finished the work in just over two hours.  I was present as he did the work, and I was amazed at the speed at which he completed the task.  He also sent me an invoice by email the same day.  He offered a lower price upon completion because of how he could save on the wood costs.  I paid him the full price we had agreed upon verbally because I felt he deserved the bonus for his commitment to cost control. <br />

On the outside of a restored barn, they removed rotten soffit board to replace it. Once they got into the job, they found out it had not been done correctly from the beginning, so it required much more work and involved cutting back the wood underneath. They installed PVC boards, siliconed, painted and put up gutter work. It was more than the original estimate, but they talked to us all the way along. The end product was a gorgeous job. <br />

Alan responded immediately to my email requesting a quote. He came right out and went over everything.Was right on time, completed the work as contracted. I will definately use him again!

I had asked another contractor to repair a hole in my barn wall and was in a hurry due to a preset meeting with a realtor about my property. He misunderstood the level of work and took the wall down. His estimate for replacing the wall was more than I was prepared to pay. I called Mr. Mom (Alan) to get an estimate on repairing the wall. I had read about his experience with interior painting on Angie's List and also asked for a quote on a few places in my home. He came to my house soon after I spoke with him (same day) and within a few hours had emailed me very professional quotes on several projects in my house. He stood by his 20% off coupon for Angie's List members which made the job much more affordable. I was able to have him repair the wall and do the immediate painting I needed done. He understood my timeline and started work on a Saturday in order to get it completed on time. He worked until very late on Saturday and the following Monday, finishing everything within plenty of time for my meeting. He and his co-workers were professional and pleasant. They were neat and did an excellent job! He went a bit over with materials - which I would have gladly paid the difference for - but he took it off the labor part of the invoice. I will definitely hire him again. He has a lot of energy and a great work ethic!

I just loved this  man whom fixed what I couldn't do. He was so pleasant and helpful and very informative as to what he was doing . H also had a wonderfull sense of Humor as well. He was on time and ready to get the job done.I would recommend him and I will call him again if I need any more work done with Wood.... Thank you so much

I have seen the work he has done on several different occasions. Everything I highlighted he does and more that was not listed. ANYTHING you need done to or around the house he can do or get done. He works with you on the price and he was upfront with anything he wasn't sure of but I went with him because he was half the price of anyone around. He was in the army and is honest. He also has kids so he knows how hard it is to save money. I am glad I went with him he saved me a ton and it was a pleasure doing business with him. I would call on him for anything.
