Mr. Nice Guy

He did a good job. It still looks good this year. I would recommend them to others.

I've never written a review on angies list before. For the most part the services iv'e recruited have been as expected of of the website. However I had a gut feeling I needed to write something about mr. nice guy professional home painting. I was seriously un-impressed. I had several companies give estimates on an exterior paint project of mine. Mr. nice guy came in the cheapest and the owner Ryan, seemed like a "nice guy" and would do all that I had requested. <br /> Once the agreement was made it took a couple weeks for the contractor helper to pressure wash the exterior. Which he basically just wetted down. The house is somewhat large, it probably only took him an hour to do a weak job of cleaning before calling it a day. In between the time it took to pressure wash and paint was over 2 weeks. Plenty of time for the house to get dirty and dusty again. <br /> Eventually after waiting I began to grow impatient and called the owner Ryan, who told me they would be beginning the job soon. I came home one day from work and found 1/3 of the house painted. It looked decent, and I was excited to see more. From that point on it took at least 5 weeks for them to finish the job. 5 weeks to do 3 days tops worth of work. The job they did was shotty as well, issues I wanted resolved were fluffed and buffed, not fixed. The job was not quality, I was at work and not home to watch but it was obvious they were just trying to get done quickly without regard for quality. After a winters worth of time some spots on the house are already begining to flake off. I would call the company back but I really don't want to waste my time again. The owner wouldn't even show up in person to do a final walk around the house to make sure I was satisfied with the work. I only saw him face to face once when I got the bid for the paint job. <br /> In summary I would not use them again and would not recommend them to anyone. The bid was the cheapest and what I thought was very fair, however the quality and business ethic of the owner was very low. Do yourself a favor and find someone else. <br /> <br />

The painting was to be completed in July but was delayed until August.  Unfortunately,  I had deck work scheduled for the week they started painting which caused confusion and further delay.  The workers were courteous and cleaned up after themselves.  From what I can determine they did a good job.  They did have to return to repaint the garage doors to match the siding  as the doors were painted the trim color.  I'm not quite sure the paint color matches the siding.

Mr Nice Guy was about 2 months our on doing the house, which was fine; however, I was notified they were able to get the power washing done within a couple of weeks and begin the house within a month. The deck came first, which was delayed due to the high temps.  Their deck guy came out on a cloudy Saturday and complete the deck staining in one day.  The house was completed a couple of weeks later. <br />

My husband found them on Angie’s list.  I was not happy with them.  They left a mess each day when they finished and left.  They also left a mess after they finished the work and left.  They ruined things that were sitting on the yard.  They left painting on the sidewalks, chairs, and other things.  They cut hose and when I confronted them on that they said they did not do it.  When I claimed that there was some paint on the chairs they told me that it was mold.  They were rude as well.  I guess their price must have been okay because my husband chose them.  They had to redo the window sills as they did not take the tape off.  They did not come until ten every day and worked till two.  I don’t know what timings did my husband agree upon with them.  One guy was gagging all the time.

I live out of town and hired this company to paint a townhouse that we rent out in Omaha.  I just saw the finished product this past weekend and it looks fantastic!  (I am very picky and would be completely honest here)  If you want to call around and price it out etc., (which I did) you will find it very confusing and a waste of time.  Just call this company and know that they do what they say, when they say, and they do it very well.  Perfect lines, no dripping, clean up each day and start over the next day...completely dependable.Thanks Mr. Nice Guy!  I wish you were in the Twin Cities! <br /> Renee

It went well overall. He got my fireplace working and did a very good job cleaning the glass.

I called Ryan for an estimate for deck refinishing on 4/19/2012.  He stopped by a few days later with an estimate and said someone would come by and power wash the deck before refinishing.  I called him on 5/2/2012 without hearing anything since 4/19/2012.  He said someone should have come by to power wash the deck.  It is now 5/23/2012 and no one has power washed the deck and no communication from Mr. Nice Guy.  I think his estimate was very reasonable.  But with no work and no communication, I would not recommend using Mr. Nice Guy for any work.  Again, I know we have had some rain/storms and that limits deck refinishing.  But it would have been nice to receive any sort of update.  No updates at all.  I just left a message today & will update this review (if I hear anything from Ryan).   <br /> <br /> Ryan called on 6/28/2012.  Everything was sorted out and the deck was power washed on 6/30/2012 and stained on 6/2/2012.  The work is excellent.  After some initial communication mix ups, his work was excellent.   <br /> <br /> Overall, I would use Mr. Nice Guy again despite the communication problems.

Ryan Broadstone met us at our home, walked around the exterior and explained their services.  He discussed options and helped us decide which service best fit our needs.  Several weeks later Ryan's crew showed up and washed the house.  After allowing about a week for the house to dry, they came back and spent about three days on prep and painting.  Ryan met us to do a "walk-through", noted a few small oversights and returned within a couple of days to rectify.   Overall, I found Mr Nice Guy (Ryan) easy to work with, responsive, competitively priced (vs three other bids) and provided a quality product.

He did a wonderful job. Ryan is Mr. Nice Guy and he was very personable and easy to get a hold of. His staff was knowledgeable. I actually checked several vendors and they were able to outbid all the others.

He cleaned up after himself when he was finished. He did excellent work.
