Took the money and ran. This company has a different definition of "done," which does not meet common standard. They are also dishonest, go back on written promises, and are quick to name call and belittle you. At least I have all of this is writing and can go to my credit card company if needed. It's only over $200 (order total), so maybe not worth the hassle. But it burns me to know that dishonest companies exist. Mulch and Stone knew there was a good chance they shorted me part of my order and promised to return with more product - just call them. There was also another order fiasco we had with them, and my husband left a bad review. The owner, Carlene, essentially forced him to take it down, although he would have done it on his own if asked. She then continued to belittle him for leaving a review in the first place, then me for not knowing the review existed! She instantly determined she would not refund us nor provide the rest of our order, despite knowing the post was deleted. What professional ever does that? She used callous language and foul name-calling in writing, rather than to own up to her mistake and take a bad review. She could have even acted to do something nice to appease my very upset husband (there were promises never kept after the issue), or ask him kindly to take the bad review down. After five days of doing nothing (five days past the Friday the issue was suppose to be tended to), then ignoring messages, I believe we are done. There is no professionalism when an issue comes up, so I advise others to avoid this company or cross their fingers that everything will go right. I trusted them in the past with pleasant crew, but if they cannot right a wrong, then they are not worth risking your home/business project. I will need to finish my project with another company.

Horrible customer service with false delivery times and delays without advisement, constantly having to chase down answers. Delayed my landscaping project by 2 days due to river rock not being delivered as promised (still not delivered). Check out the BBB complaints and YELP before you proceed with this business you will regret it!

A disaster. I purchase 3 yd of topsoil from bill from this company in Maryland arrow line. I had it delivered on the 31st May 22. I put a lot of hard labor in to move 3 yd of soil for me for my prep For putting down new grass seed.. My grass seed never took in their soil soil and all I got was weeds like I've never seen before period

I ordered river rock stones, which was delivered mixed with soil. I sent pictures (attached here) to the company, asking for replacement or partial compensation. My claim was denied and ignored. When I received a marketing email from Jeff (the owner) 2 days ago I asked him to take my email off their mailing list. He sent an mail to his IT person: "remove this jerk from the mailing list". I could not open a dispute with my credit card company because the product could not be returned.

This Orogro topsoil is amazing. The grass seed that I planted in it came up in 9 days. You can smell that this topsoil is heavy in "organic" material. I would buy this topsoil again in a heartbeat. The delivery was great. I asked to have the soil split into 5 cubic yards for one house and 3 for the house across the street. They did that easily and happily.

I had an excellent experience with Mulch and Stone! Quality products, wonderful service, free delivery! I had a major DIY project creating a gravel patio and walkways this spring. I needed two different types of gravel, and was worried about the amount to order (cubic yards vs tons) and called to speak with the representative at Mulch and Stone. She reassured me regarding the volume to order and scheduled the deliveries on 2 separate days to make it easier for me. I called to reschedule the delivery, which they accommodated with no problem. I would definitely use them again.

I can't believe this company has an A rating on Angie's List. I ordered 10 cubic yards of fill dirt for delivery on March 21st. They didn't deliver and I had to call to inquire. They said they would reschedule for Monday, I said that wasn't acceptable since I needed to put it in over the weekend. So they said they would bring it Friday or Saturday. They didn't. Called again to ask where it was and they rescheduled for the 27th. They finally delivered on the 27th but only delivered about half the yardage of what I ordered. Talked to the driver about it and he said to call the company but that he delivered the weight he was told to deliver. I said I ordered yardage not weight and he shrugged his shoulders. Called the office the next day and first told the driver was on his way bit stuck in traffic. I thought great, that means they are bringing more dirt. Nope. Next day call again and told need to speak with a supervisor. I talk to supervisor and am told I need to talk to a manager. Never got a response by phone. Today, 4/1, I finally received an email telling me they delivered 1 ton of dirt and that a cubic yard of dry dirt is equivalent to 2000lbs. I pointed out that I ordered by area not weight, and that this dirt was saturated with water and because it was fill dirt, also had heavy rocks and bricks in it. These factors mean that trying to estimate yards based on weight wouldn't work. They refused to deliver more dirt, refused to refund any money and refused to pick up the dirt. They also told me to stop contacting them saying I was "harrassing" them after sending a grand total of 2 emails in response to their 4 emails to me. Stay away from this company...look at their reviews on Yelp and Google and BBB. I am not the only one who has had these issues.

I used this supplier this time based on my previous experience with ordering quality firewood from them. However this purchase was very different. The rating reflects both the overall low quality of the firewood delivered on Oct 3 and the lack of response to the concerns I raised with the owner. I called the company the day following delivery to express my disappointment and was asked to send an email to the owner Jeff with photos and my concerns. I emailed the owner on Oct 5 noting the overall low quality of the wood delivered and raised 2 major concerns. First was the size of about 30 to 40 % of the logs will require me to rent a splitter to render them usable. Second, to test the woods quality, I hand split several logs and found the wood to be quite wet inside. As of this writing, I have received no reply to my email from the owner which leads me to question their commitment to customer service. I will not use this company again.

I waited to write this review until I had a chance to burn the wood. I can honestly say that it burns better than any bulk firewood I have ever bought. The price was a bit more than I had hoped to pay but they deliver a true cord, not the typical DC area “cord” which is always less than what it should be. Add in that it’s kiln dried and burns so well (and quickly due to its dryness) I believe it to be worth every penny. The delivery person was polite and helpful, dumping the wood close to my fence gate as opposed to my driveway per my request. Would highly recommend.

Mulch & Stone delivered good quality mulch at a competitive price. Unfortunately, they didn't deliver the mulch on the time and date they promised. This set back the timing of my project and caused me problems. I also had to follow-up on several occasions to find out the status of my delivery. After failing to deliver it on the agreed upon date, they promise to complete delivery by the following morning. However, they didn't show-up. Delivery eventually took place in the afternoon.

Fantastic service! I received just the right amount of mulch. Ordering was quick and easy and delivery was fast and on time. They delivered the mulch exactly where I wanted it. It couldn't have been easier. I will definitely use this company again.

It was easy to schedule. They were flexible on the delivery date to fit around other contract work we were having done at our home that week. The quality was significantly superior and the quantity also appeared more accurate/generous than some topsoil a different landscape company had delivered as part of a paver patio project we had installed earlier this year. I'm extremely pleased and have recommended Mulch and Stone LLC to several neighbors who have stopped to admire how well our lawn aeration and overseeding is flourishing after top dressing the yard with this topsoil and compost mix.

The mulch is uniformly good and the stone was as described. The delivery system is efficient and the driver is always professional.

The driver called about 20 minutes before arriving so that I could make sure I had my tarp laid out in my driveway ready for the delivery. When the driver arrived, he backed up to my side yard and dumped the stone exactly where I needed it. Very polite and professional. Also, there prices are the cheapest around, and the stone was great quality. I will be doing business with Mulch and Stone in the future.

I received an email from Mulch and Stone a few days ago that advertised two cords of seasoned firewood for $499 including delivery. The deal seemed to good to be true (as I usually pay about $650- $700) When the driver arrived, she asked me where I would like the firewood dropped, I have a long and winding driveway, and she was able to back up the whole thing and drop it right in front of my garage! The dispatch was friendly, the driver was great, and I can't wait to burn this GREAT firewood!

Quite well. We set up a date about a week in advance when I would be ready for the compost. About 9:30 in the morning the driver called and said she was en route. When she arrived it was dumped in the driveway, and she specifically asked which side I preferred. The compost looks good and was not wet. I'll get another 10 yards in the spring.

I called to place my order, the woman on the phone asked me exactly what my project was and once I explained it, she ended up saving me about $75 by telling me I didn't need as much topsoil as I thought I did. Very friendly, and seemed to care. The driver arrived on time and my delivery was spot on perfect! I would recommend Mulch and Stone to anyone.

The quality of the product is excellent as was the timeliness of delivery. However, I left a large tarp for the stone to dumped on and the morons missed the target. A good portion of stone is way off the tarp.. It's still usable, but will be a pain to collect. My son called them dumb*****. I must agree.

Ordered 10 cubic yards of topsoil via their website on Monday and they delivered it on Wednesday. Decided to use Mulch & Stone due to my last order from LumberJake load of topsoil being full of stones, sticks, and some glass. Price is comparable, but M&S quality of topsoil was night & day to LumberJake. Also the quality of customer service is much better with M&S. Will definitely use them again for the finishing layer. <br>

Mulch and Stone delivered a truckload of high-quality double-shredded mulch. The prices seemed pretty competitive, and free delivery was a plus. There was a slight scheduling snafu when one of their trucks broke down, but they easily rescheduled for a time that worked for me.  Communication on this problem could have been a little more prompt, but it wasn't a big deal. Overall, I was very pleased with their product and service and would use them again. <br />
