Murphy's Window & Sunrooms

Not well. I am guessing they are used to doing bigger jobs where they can hide their margins a little easier. We were told we needed a tempered glass window if it's more than 5' from a tub. The window was just under 5' from the tub and I left a message to that effect. Nonetheless, they installed a tempered glass window which was much costlier than a standard glass window. The contractors were unpredictable in their schedules, which made it hard to coordinate with our tenants. I had to ask them to caulk around the window- I could see daylight between the window frame and the drywall. The owner offered us a $100 gift card for dinner as a gesture since the job was a pain in the butt. In the end, there was no gift card.

Everything was great. The job was done on time, on budget, and exactly as planned. Jimmy was a great guy to work with.

Horrible service. Took 50 percent payment a while back but not returning calls or finishing job.

Took upfront 50 ,percent payment but now I cannot get them to complete the job. Customer service is extremely bad. You don't get anyone on the phone and if you do they tell you they will call back and never do. Also no response to email.

First off, everyone we've dealt with has been professional, friendly, and courteous. We liked the reviews we saw in Angie's List and Murphy's installed a new sliding door for us in Nov 2014. One of our requests was it be "lightweight" and easy to slide. Well, it didn't seem that way when it was installed, but we were told to give it some time to loosen up. Nope. Still heavy and hard to open and close... 3+ years later. Next problem was the screen door with it. In Spring 2015 (when we needed it, since the door was installed in the winter), the screen door continuously came off its track. Don came out to fix it ("right") and it almost lasted until the end of the season. I spoke with Jimmy Murphy who runs the place... again, super nice and super friendly... but when I reached him to help... lots of delays, promises, etc. I kept putting it back on the track myself for short-term fixes. I called/texted in the Fall 2017 to have it fixed or replaced... no response. Called/Texted again in Spring 2018 and was told someone would be out to take care of it. No one. Another call and text promising to be there "next Tuesday." Nothin. I've had enough. Well meaning group, but lacks follow-through and, apparently, the ability to keep customers happy/satisfied. Hard to imagine that 20 minutes of their time and/or possibly $10-50 in parts will cost them my future business and possibly the loss of others' business (after reading this). Won't use again....

Horrible!!! First the installer calls off. Blames the cold weather. Then when installing he cracks the wood trim on my patio window which he tried to hide! Then when the job was finished he didn’t even seal the window tight! It was almost falling out! They did come back to fix it! Now after 1 year there is rust spots where all the nails are supposed to be holding the window in place. So I finally get ahold of the salesman Brian he told me the installer should have use better nails and chalk. Told me he would get back to me. Never heard from him until I called Murphy’s to file a service report. Talk to Murphy’s windows about my situation and I was told Jim the owner was gonna stop by to look at the damage he NEVER showed up! I have a warranty for 5 years from them. Now after 10 phone calls and voicemails and text message they will not answer or respond. This is very poor effort to help fix my problem that they cause! I feel like I will have to hire a lawyer to get this resolved. If you are reading this what ever you do, DONT HIRE MURPHYS WINDOWS AND SUNROOMS

Murphy Windows was excellent.

It went very well, the guys showed up on time we talked for a bit about what was going to get done and they proceeded to get the job done. Turned out very well Very happy

They were supposed to give a quote for the sunroom and there was a delay in getting the block windows. They did five block windows and two regular windows. Their getting back to me was not timely. I will use them next year, I just don't like the fact that they didn't get back to e about the sunroom, I don't know if they're stretched.

They were supposed to give me an estimate for an addition to replace one family room ad one sunroom that I have. They did the windows, but they never gave me an estimate to determine if I wanted it done. They did deliver the wrong window, but they were very good about ordering another window. They did work for me last year. I don't think the price was too much. They came late. I've used them twice now. I used them even though their responsiveness was not that great.

The experience was great. The Murphy team was courteous, timely, and professional. They were meticulous with their clean up. Overall it was a great experience from start to finish.

I would have liked to give this company an A, but they had just started the business (I believe I was one of their first customers), and they encountered problems with the unusual demands of atypical door sizes for a very old house. In addition, the owner did not always respond to calls or concerns. Fortunately for him, his manager was very responsive, both in communicating and making certain the challenges were ultimately addressed.

Workers were professional and considerate to my situation as I was recouping from surgery, They cleaned up work area everyday and hauled away all debris. Work was completed in a timely fashion and to our satisfaction. The owner Jim Murphy was very pleasant to work with.

Everything went as discussed and was super stress free and just an overall joy to work with. Ibwish they did more services.

My wife and I were extremely happy with the Murphy's team. Tony arrived at our home on time the day of the consultation. (big plus!!! one contractor no show; the other was late.) Tony was knowledgeable about the products. He helped us make a great window selection while keeping us in our budget. My wife and I decided with the Okna 700 casement series. If you have never heard of Okna you should definitely look into this company. They have some of the best values on the market (U-factor; Solar heat gains). Made in the USA. Unfortunately the majority of our windows were custom sizes. The lead time from Okna /Murphy's was approximately two months from order to install. The install team including Dave, Frank, Alec & Robert were great. They were on time and extremely clean. Drop clothes were always used and they vacuumed up any/all debris. They installed all of the windows in roughly eight hours. I would highly recommend requesting Dave. He does very nice trim work. Seemeless mitres and square trim work. Lastly, the owner Jimmy was thoroughly involved in the whole process. I can be a pain in the *** about certain things and he would always take my calls. Very good guy to do business with. There were a couple small hiccups along the way and Jimmy stuck to his word and everything got resolved. Nice to know that an owner is present and willing to make things right!!! Thanks again Murphy's. Looking forward to doing business with you in the future.

Jimmy and his team are great to work with. They go above and beyond and really try to find the right product for you. For our new bedroom windows, we wanted something with more energy efficiency and sound barrier. We also chose a different outside color trim, and Jimmy was able to work with the selected vendor to achieve this. For our front door project, we removed a dated glass inset door and transom and replaced it with a fiberglass wood door; increasing the height and width, which proved to be the best thing for us! The walnut stain really updated the look of our house from the outside, too! Murphy's prices as very reasonable and that's one of a handful of reasons we continue to work with Jimmy!

Price was competitive. They showed up when they said they would, got the job done and cleaned up before they left. Nice to deal with a local, family business!

I wanted transoms in the picture window. Armando came out to discuss sizing so that the proportions were correct for the size of the window. He was very professional and took the time to discuss the various options. Later, we had a miscommunication in the original order resulting in a misordered window. Jimmy called immediately and worked with us to find a solution that pleased both parties. I am very happy with the level of service and the quality of the Windows.

I thought they were a little pricey. The first time I had an appointment with them, and I was promised that they would be here that day, they were a no show, this was back in October. I stopped in the showroom in person, and she saw that I was scheduled for them to come out and nobody ever came, but I still decided to reschedule, and they came out in November. One guy measured, so they had one guy come and measure, so the second guy came, you know, measured. I had already picked out the door and everything, I already gave them a check for the whole thing. I was waiting, and waiting, and waiting, and finally I called, I think it was in December, to say, hey, where's my door? It was like 8 weeks already, not 8, anyway, it was a really long time. The lady says, oh it just came in, and we'll have Armondo call you for installation. So I think it was like 14 days went by, never heard from anybody. So I decided I wanted to cancel the whole transaction. Then it was like, oh no, you have to talk to the owner. He said, we can't do that, and I was like, I don't have a door. He typed my email in incorrectly and he never got my email. We finally had an installation date, so he does the job and he does it right. Well the day of installation, the guy comes with two other guys, and I said where Dave, and they were like we're here to install the door. I was a little upset about that. So they did the job and it was sloppy, the door wouldn't even shut properly, the overall job was very poor. Then the doorbell went goofy, so I called them to tell them I needed somebody for the doorbell. So they were going to send one of the guys that did the original installation.

Excellent! The owner, James Murphy, came out initially to measure and look at my job. He was extremely professional and informative as to my choices for doors and window. Dave, and the installers worked fast, cleaned up after themselves, and went above and beyond paying attention to the details. I needed a few window sills replaced on existing windows and they replaced those too. You definitely get what you pay for -- quality, value, and craftmanship with Murphy's Windows and Sun Rooms. I have confidence in referring them and am using them again to do an additional window.

I have used Murphy's three separate times to replace doors and windows in my home, and I plan to use Murphy's and only Murphy's in the future. The staff are experienced professionals who are knowledgeable and courteous. They take the time to understand what you want and work to provide just that. These are not pushy sales people or amature carpenters; the craftsmanship that is put in to the installation of each piece is wonderful. To date I have had two exterior doors with screen doors, double entry with screen doors, and two sets of casement windows. I plan on replacing 9-12 windows in the next month with Murphy's and I know I will be pleased with the results.

The installers are at least as important as the brand of windows. I have had windows replaced by other companies before. None were as qualified as Murphy's. I interviewed over 15 other window companies for a large job, 12 town homes. Over $170K+ in work for our condo association. Murphy's was the only company willing to go the extra step to earn our business. They presented detailed drawings and worked with the window manufacturer to come up with a solution for our complex. The owner Jimmy was professional, prompt, and honest. He is truly a man of his word. His team led by master carpenter Dave was on time, professional, and very respectful. It is rare to see such skilled craftsmen today. They tore out and replaced windows systematically and on time. Most importantly the work was done correctly to a very high standard. The work was impeccable. They went above and beyond the scope of the project. I highly recommend Murphy's.

The project went extremely well. The guys were prompt, personal, and professional. Clearly they know their how to get the job done, and work very well together.

Perfectly; repairman determined that the originally installed lockset (separate manufacturer) had glitches that could not be relied upon. He offered to research and if possible order similar if not same style. New lockset ordered and installed perfectly. Murphy's.....again went above and beyond in assisting. I shall continue to highly recommend this company.
