Mark meticulously went through every inch of this antique from top to bottom and repaired all structural damage incurred over the last 260 years to include everything from small worm holes, to cracks on the table top and drop leaves, warps, loose joints, pegs and butterfly joints. He made it structurally sound to last another 260 years without changing any of the rich 260 year old character and charm. This is truly an amazing museum piece and family heirloom to last another lifetime.

Mark Fry is a craftsman. He fill with epoxy all joints and cracked woods. He stripped paint to bare wood and sanded, cut-to-fit new birch panels between the stretchers. When finished, he sealed the bench with teak finish. It is beautifully restored, ready for another 100 years of use.
Both of these assignments were handled beautifully and I was completely satisfied with the end result. I'm kind of a perfectionist, especially regarding my inventory. Mark fixed the veneer problem on the vitrine and made the dining table look new again. He charged me $500.00 for the vitrine and $2,500.00 for the top on the dining table. It was money well spent.
Now, Mark does incredible work, but like any true craftsman, (which he surely is) it's not going to be particularly cheap or fast to get the work done. So, if you're looking for cheap and fast, don't waste his time. If, on the other hand, you have a valuable piece (and that can be a dollar or sentimental value) and you want it done correctly, then Mark is your guy. He's a true renaissance man in a time when they're hard to find. To have a resource like him in my back yard makes my business and life much easier. A happy relationship with any craftsperson depends on communication and expectation. If everyone is on the same page you have a happy ending to the story.
I couldn't be happier! The owner, Mark Fry, restored an antique spool cabinet that had been disassembled. Like a puzzle, he put it back together and refinished it to match a second spool cabinet, which he also cleaned up. The two of them look great.
He did an excellent job. Her was cooperative. He was responsive and his final product was perfect. He came out to do the service when we had water damage in the guest bedroom area, a piece of furniture was wet, molded and deteriorated and he restored it. This one stuck out in my mind because I didn't think it could be done. He came out in October, I don't know the exact date of the completion but it was maybe the end of November beginning December. The job cost several thousand. He is a down to earth guy and he is easy to talk to. He did the job at his own workplace and then took it back to me.

Mark met me at a consignment store in Palm Springs to look at a table I was considering buying. The edges were coming apart from the center of the table and I wanted to be sure it could be repaired before I bought it. Mark said he could fix it and loaded it in his van. We agreed on a price of $425 including delivery. He had the table for a couple weeks and called and told us he was still working on it, getting the scratches out and mentioned that gluing it was difficult because of the modern angles but he figured it out. He also said he took care of the 2 chips. We were excited when he brought the table and we saw what looked like a brand new, super glossy modern table. He did beautiful work. Our only complaint was that he requested an additional $150 for labor and that was not agreed on up front. We paid the extra because he did do an excellent job but would have appreciated a "heads up". All in all we would recommend Museum Quality Furniture. We are very satisfied.
"this was a very difficult repair with all the angles to clamp and glue but I figured it out , after repairing I decided to attempt to remove all the scratches in the top, I wasn't sure if I could and it got really involved. I stayed with it for almost a full day of work just on polishing , and I removed the scratches and it looked like new it was a lot of work for the small amount of money , but we were all satisfied in the end"

The Chinese cabinet work was truly "museum quality". He did a far superior job than I thought possible and was very punctual and reasonably priced. He found things that needed to be done that were not visible before he started. He made these repairs without charging extra. I had to insist he accept payment for the extra work.
The bar stool wrapping was very clever. He accomplished a perfect wrap around arm surfaces that were themselves a continuous curve. The result was protection that looked like it was part of the barstool design (and probably should have been).
I called Mark Fry and he answered right away and was polite and friendly. He was confident he could easily fix the drawer. He picked up the piece and took it to his shop and it was done the next day; when he said it would be. I like Mark Fry; and I've seen plenty of his work restoring much older, finer, and intricate pieces. I would use him again and highly recommend him to my friends and family.
