As of December 2016 still no work has been done and numerous attempts to contact George over a 6 month period to get the work done has been futile. Requests for our deposit to be refunded has also been met with many excuses and as to this date has not been returned.

Such great fun creating and collaborating George's experience and our vision to ensure that the end result would be unique and true to our property. Genuinely spectacular! > > We thoroughly enjoyed the conversations throughout the project with both George and Pat. We learned so much from their knowledgeable tidbits and hints. > > The outcome of this project exceeded our expectations. We look forward to more projects!
I was very impressed with George Wimmer, "My personal gardener."
My problem was that my sump was running often most seasons of the year, and dumping water into the side yard where it would run down a shallow valley in my lawn and over the public sidewalk. It has been a constant source of erosion, poor lawn, soft and muddy ground especially in the spring, and even ice covering my sidewalk in cold weather. I was not allowed by the city of Noblesville to connect my sump overflow to the storm sewer. I could not send the water off my property to be a problem for a neighbor either, of course.
I had done some research and developed an idea for a dry well to receive the water. I contacted several companies in Angies List that were landscapers or dealt with water drainage problems. After all was said and done, "My personal gardener" not only grasped the problem and the necessary solution, but gave me a very reasonable estimate for the solution.
George and his assistant dug a hole 4x4 feet square, and 5 feet deep. They cut the sod off first, and set it aside to be replaced later. George used a mini-backhoe to do the real digging, and it dug the hole quickly even through hard blue clay. An empty 55 gallon drum was placed in the hole--the plastic drum had many holes drilled through the sides and bottom. The purpose of the drum was to receive the water directly from the sump and then allow it to disperse into the larger area underground. The 4x4x5 foot hole was filled (around the drum) with round gravel. Some kind of landscaping cloth was also placed over the gravel, then a layer of topsoil, and then the sod was placed back on top. The finished product was rolled and now the ground is the same level as it was before.
Even if the water is slow dispersing into the subsoil, the dry well can receive about 250-300 gallons of water before it overflows, if it ever does. I anticipate that my yard erosion problem and sidewalk damage problems are now over. George and his assistant placed the dirt that was taken from the hole in various locations around the foundation of my house (at my request), where the ground had settled and too much foundation was exposed. He did not charge for this extra service.
It took a good half day of work for two men to do this job, and heavy equipment was used, and all materials including landscaping cloth, 2-3 yards of gravel, plastic drum, pipe fittings, etc., were all included in the job quote, which I thought was more than fair, in fact, a bargain.
According to Angies List, My Personal Gardener also offers plants for 25% off for members, so I am having George put in some plants for me in a larger landscaping project. I am trusting that it will go just as well. I have not been acquainted with this George and "My Personal Gardener" before this project, but I feel fortunate to have found him.

George was willing to work with the ideas that I had for building the fire pit and patio. He was very responsive during the project when I would stop him and ask questions, or suggest a different way to do the layout and design. The patio and fire pit turned out nicely. On the lawn work - seeding, mulching, leveling - I felt that George was trying to get done and get to another job, and maybe didn't spend as much time and care as I would have liked. If you hire him for a job, be aware that he is pretty much a one man show, and is sometimes slow to respond to emails and calls, and can get behind schedule quickly when the weather is bad.

Response from My Personal Gardener Inc
"Thanks for the kind comments. As much as I would love to accept all of the credit for the beautiful work we install, I simply can’t. I do all the designs personally, and follow them through to completion working alongside with my crew. I have a solid crew of skilled people that help me. I operate this way because I truly love what I do. I think I have the best job in the world, but it wouldn’t be possible without a lot of help. I started My Personal Gardener INC. to offer the best personal service (hence the moto “take it personally”). My clients deal with me from the beginning design/consultation phase, all the way through the job until completion. This is what separates me from the competition. We do not want to be the biggest landscaping company around; we just want to be the best."

Provider did an excellent job!! The work was delay due to rain, but the owner did an excellent job staying in touch and communicating with us about when he would be coming. The quality of tree planted was excellent and the owner took the time to explain what we needed to watch for with the tree to make sure it was healthy and how much to water it. The mulch was of excellent quality and our yard looks great!!

Removed approximately 100 linear feet of sod in various widths

Dug down approximately 8" the entire length

Went to the quarry and hand selected the size and shape of individual, natural brownstones that would be the steps

Marked the placement of the stones for ease of walking

Laid each stone to conform to the flow of the path

Filled the area around the brownstones with natural looking, smooth gravel.

The end result was a very natural looking path that flowed between the two homes and blends into the existing landscape. It looks like it has always been there.
We are extremely satisfied. In addition to the quality of the work of this company, another reason we selected them is that the owner is always on the job and he runs background checks on all employees. He also will not hire someone that is in our country illegally.
We have since contracted with My Personal Gardener for our landscape maintenance.
As my ratings indicate, it went very smoothly George was keeping watch on the weather, arrived early and finished about 20 minutes before the rain hit our area. He had been delayed by storms and heavy rains here but arrived at the first break weather permitted
I have recommended this business to numerous people who have continued to use it for their landscape installations and maintenance His quote may not be the least expensive but he stands by his work and his word After 50 years of loving gardening
I found out the hard way years ago a bargain price is usually no bargain!
,

I have been using George as My Personal Gardener for years. He is reasonably priced and expeditious, yet does not cut corners. He seems to take great satisfaction in doing a great job and making his customers happy. He is knowledgeable, polite and reliable and flexible. I'm always happy with his work as are my other neighbors on Geist who have had him do extensive beautiful landscaping for them.

Four Avian Glen neighbors (Kelly, Shafer, Humbert, YA) received several bids to improve their low lying, very damp lawn areas. Contractor was selected based upon price & visit discussion. Per their contract, initial 50% down payment was provided up front, but then there occurred a four month delay in the work. Communication responses were poor during that time as to the status of the beginning the work.

The "swamp" areas were fixed with a drainage solution that required installing gravel/drainage pipe under ground. As identified by the contractor, dog electric fence line was cut as well as in ground sprinkler line. Both repaired by original contractors per My Personal Gardner contract. Then, My Personal Gardner came out, filled in dirt/stone and threw down grass seed as his final delivery.

Upon inspection by homeowners, all dirt areas had medium to large stones, the dirt levels were not even with surrounding grass areas and several places homeowners sunk 2-4 inches in the dirt. Homeowners had to finish the landscaping of all dug areas by raking out the stones, leveling the dirt, filling in holes, leveling with 11 bags of top soil and spread new grass seed.

So our neighbors agreed upon grade = C. B=fixing drainage issue; D=communication/responsiveness; F=final lawn delivery. We all thought since they had "Gardener" in their company's name they would leave each lawn area raked out, level and flat. A Saturday afternoon by the neighbors of raking, tamping and spreading grass seed returned each area to its original level form.

Response from My Personal Gardener Inc
"After receiving an email regarding dissatisfaction with the grade I made several options available at my expense to resolve the issue and received no communication from the homeowners except that payment was being withheld. The contract and deposit were received 3 days prior to the first snowfall of the winter season which was the most brutal and longest winter in 30 years. Contact was maintained through the winter, even though weather conditions prevented the installation of the project. Once the snow finally melted and the ground thawed we received above average rain falls causing further problems with being able to begin their project. Homeowners demanded immediate construction in these conditions and were advised that large amounts of damage would very likely occur to their yards due to the amount of precipitation absorbed by their lawns. Despite doing our best to cause as little damage as possible in the deplorable weather conditions large ruts were made. They were filled in and tapped down, but settling does occur. Several options were offered at my expense to resolve the issues of settling, clay/rocks in the ground, more grass seed etc, with no reseponse from the homeowners. The Drain tile installed did solve their water issues as per the contract. Thank you for your time in reading this. Sincerely George Wimmer My Personal Gardener Inc."

The experience was okay. The guy came in and did the assessment. He was pretty overloaded. It was average. The price was too much for $99. He walked around the yard and did an assessment. He told me a few things and he sent me a very different way to look at the yard. It was supposed to be $250 worth a work. He was very professional.

George Wimmer was amazing. He was an absolute professional and spent several hours at our home giving us excellent advice and ideas on many landscaping ideas. He was personal, an excellent communicator, and very honest (not pushy, not trying to sell us something we didn't need or want). He even gave us ideas of things we could/should do on our own to save money! He provided a detailed estimate of work within hours of leaving our home. The estimate was thorough, specific, and exactly what we had discussed. We appreciated how meticulous he was. We have not yet hired him to do all/part of the estimated work as we may decide to wait until spring. However, he will be our "go-to" guy for any landscaping work we need in the future. He is one of the best contractors we have ever done business with. Thanks George!
He came himself to do the work.the planet trees shrubs and flowers and mulched. He watered everuthing as well. He cleaned everything up and left no mess. We showed him what we had and told him that we wanted a complete change. He provided complete design pictures and quotes for the work. We discussed options and made very few changes to the original design. Work was approved and scheduled. Demo was quick and efficient. Bed prep was good. Plants were acquired and installed per design. Included two small trees and a variety of shrubs that were appropriate for the house design. Rerouting of roof-gutters was discussed and completed. Mulch was installed and the beds look GREAT!
He met with us in the yard scope out the area and hear our wishes. We explained that we would do most of the work ourselves. We thoroughly explained our likes and our insistence on plants that aren't overgrown at maturity and plants that don't spread.
We liked most of his ideas. He provided us with a design that he emailed us in a couple of days. The overall design was good--we liked the flow and his suggestions included good height and color variation. I was a little disappointed that his plan didn't include more detail. For example he suggested boxwoods but didn't specify a variety, so I had to research to find one that was the right size. We also didn't like his design for one area. I asked him twice to review that area and come up with different suggestions or design, which he never did.
Overall, he knows his craft and will provide a good looking design. But he was not very responsive to our specific needs and desires.
Response from My Personal Gardener Inc
"sometimes as with boxwood plants that were specified, i will not print the specific variety because it may vary on what the nurseries have in stock and where they go to purchase. I answered that in one of the many emails we corresponded with each other. I did give options in the email, but did not print it in the plan to save space and make the overall design less cluttered. the area in the back she is referring to was redesigned 2 times as they requested, but upon the third time they asked for a way to incorporate a patio against an existing patio and pool deck in a way that just wasn't practical. I explained this in a lengthy email, and never heard back from this member. Sometimes people want specific things to happen with their landscapes that is just not going to work well, and I thought after I explained why she understood. Never heard back after that so I assumed everything was okay and they got what they wanted. Thanks for the many kind things you did say about my service, and I will take your comments seriously and use them to improve."

George is very friendly and prompt. Responded to our call immediately and scheduled very quickly. George arrived with his crew on time and finished the job in one morning. They did a beautiful job with spade edging, as it was overdue to be done and the grass was grown kind of far into the edge of the beds. We also have a severe infestation of thistle which he sprayed completely free of charge before putting the mulch in. It is hard to find personal service these days where the owner of the business actually participates in doing the work and directly oversees employees- it is nice to have that rare personal touch and really speaks to the name of the business!
Never contacted us as promised in deal
We had to contact him
Listened well-but then didn't give us very specific ideas for plantings based on what we talked about
Did provide a drawing/plan-but didn't follow up when we asked for adjustments Was very nice and seemed professional but gave us minimal service- not what we thought the deal was for.
"Contact was initiated within one hour of their purchase. They responded 2 months later. Numerous attempts have been made to correct their complaint without any responses. A full refund is being offered with no response. Proof of time lines and communication are available upon request.- thanks for your time in reading this, Sincerely, George Wimmer (Owner) My Personal Gardener INC."

He was very helpful and accommodating. I did not wish to purchase any further services from him at the time, but he was full of advice and ideas on how to best use our space. He sent me email attachments of the layout he drew with specific plants listed that would thrive in the spaces. He also offered his services to complete the project.
