Went well, got there on time and finish on time

Went ok but thermostat for the heat pump needed to be replaced. Not the proper type.

They responded immediately and were very punctual. The price paid was fair. Myriad was a good company to work with and I will work with them again. The new shed is perfect and the debris from the old wooden shed was removed.

This contractor requires payment in FULL for both supplies and labor. I prepaid for 2 separate jobs. The first to replace a ceiling fan. The contractor could not figure out how to attach the fan blades. The job was NOT completed that day. Two days later the 2nd job, re-screening my back deck (purchased 7 hours labor and cost of all supplies) the contractor (different from the previous)entered my home and immediately stated the job which was to take one day could not be completed that day because he forgot the new screening and it was too far to go back and retrieve. Fortunately he was able to complete the ceiling fan job but was only able to complete the measurements and cutting of the new framing for the re-screening. With three hours of labor left the job was scheduled for completion the following week but had to be cancelled due to the weather. The second re-scheduled date the following week was abruptly changed from am to pm and then turned into a no-show. Because of the many un-answered voice and e mails it became clear this job was NOT on the priority list to complete. I was refunded only the cost of 3 hours labor and the cost of the new screening. To make matters worse however I was unable to find a contractor willing to complete the job in the same manner it was started, so I am basically back to square one with new labor and material costs. This time however I will NOT prepay in advance. I have learned my lesson well !!!!

BEST MONEY I EVER SPENT !!!!! I purchased a 2 hr handyman coupon to fix an exterior door that wasn't closing properly. This door needed to be fixed. A hinge had come undone I had heard that “winter was coming”. The repairman arrived on time and he suggested an alternative fix to re-notching the hinges and tearing out the framing of the door. My door was closing perfectly in half an hour! This quick fix gave me time to address some repairs I had thought out of reach of this coupon. In short, within my 2 hours, my handyman had patched a crack in my concrete steps and in the driveway (using a mix I had on hand as well as some materials he had in his truck), moved my air conditioner to the basement, and performed many tasks that single women call “please move this and put it there”. All of this performed with courtesy and skill. Myriad Handyman Services has certainly earned my loyalty. Instead of filling up my time with an overkill fix of my door, my money could be spent on a list of other little things that needed to be done. Bravo, Myriad Handyman Services! Well done!

Had used their tech Fred twice before with no problems. They were very responsive but other tech scheduled had urgent dental work. Rescheduled three more weeks out with other tech. Had headphones in and did not hear knock or call. Rescheduled and I mistook date and was in Maine when they arrived. Since I was outside their usual area I felt it better to cancel project since I only had six months lease. They stated would refund, and I will appreciate since I am a senior in fixed income.

I utilized the coupon available on their website for 5 days of handyman service at a vacant house I am getting ready to put on the market. I had a 840 square foot house that I needed to have painted. I purchased the necessary supplies, but was told the paint I had was the wrong kind. That's fine, I understood the logic behind needing different paint. However, I had purchased two 5 gallon buckets of the wrong paint. One was opened by myself, so that was a wash, but then Myriad opened the unopen bucket. So now I'm unable to return either bucket. Now this was an accident, I get it, but all that was offered was a 'Oh, sorry'. And if that was my only complaint, that would be fine. My schedule was for 5 days of work, but I was told twice that they had someone call out and they would have to extend my time. Again, I get it, stuff happens, but it just all adds up to a lot of unprofessional behavior. There wasn't one handyman that came for the painting, it was different people scheduled each day. For some reason, Myriad workers did not communicate with each other, and I received a call at the beginning of the day to ask "What was done? It looks like some areas have been painted." When I expressed my frustration at this to Myriad I was told "For the online coupons, it's the homeowners job to be the project manager and discuss each day with the handyman." This expectation was not set prior to scheduling. If I had known that, I would have gone to the location at the end of each day to assess what had been done so I could direct the next worker. I assumed that my project was being handled. As it relates to the painting - I have a 840 square foot one story rancher with an open basement. The house is vacant. No furniture to move. Completely empty. All rooms had been patched if needed, so no spackling was needed by Myriad. In 5 full days, Myriad was not only not able to complete the job, but did a very poor job in the areas that were 'complete'. I would have preferred to have less complete overall then the large portion of poor workmanship they did. The walls that they viewed as done are just so clearly terrible. I have photos to back up these claims. Not only was the paint job done very poorly, but there was paint on my floors, cabinets and windows in a total of TWENTY EIGHT places. When I informed Myriad of this, they asked for photo proof, which I was immediately able to provide. They then offered to send someone over to remove paint, which they did (which is why I'm giving them two stars as opposed to one star), but the fact I had to tell them was just shocking. Some of these spots were SO obvious - they workers clearly knew they did it, and chose not to fix it as they went, which is about the level of work that seems par for the course. Overall, I have hired someone to FIX the poor job that Myriad did. Do yourself a favor - do not be fooled by the low price. You get what you pay for, and I'm now paying for trying to be frugal. I would not recommend this company to anyone looking to have a professional job done. The owner insists he feels the work done was professional and would only require a minor touch up. He also has insisted that the home owner is responsible to be onsite through all repairs to guide the project. In this case, I was supposed to be onsite to ensure my project of 'paint all the walls and ceilings with getting paint on the carpet' was actually completed.

I had used Fred before. He came a long distance, was polite and professional, worked through each job and completed on time. This is my second or third round with Myriad. Note: not sure how much paid as credit card replaced and no access to prior transactions. Plan to use Myriad again if will come down this far.

They would not do the work because apparently they "did not have the tools." Only tool needed was a shovel. Pretty worthless handyman that cannot locate a shovel.

Very efficient worker with excellent quality craftsmanship.

They did not service our area (despite advertising to the contrary) and I had to go through Angie's list to get a refund on the deal.

Never received the service. I bought a deal nearly a year ago. Tried to schedule the service but Myriad was oversold on specials and couldn't perform the service within a month of purchase. Left various voicemail messages and sent multiple e-mail messages. Finally received a response from Myriad asking for proof that I purchased a deal. After I sent proof there was one attempt to schedule. After 7 months, the date scheduled didn't work and I've not been successful in scheduling a date, receiving another response, or getting a refund. Contacted Angie's List for assistance but they don't get involved after a period of time.

Unfortunately, he was trying to hang up one of my mirrors and he scratched it in two places. He is supposed to replace the mirror at this point, but his overall service was fine. I don't know, it happens. It wasn't intentional. I am not angry or anything, but it's just that I have to replace a mirror. He took his time with the other things that I needed done. It was just unfortunate that the mirror got scratched. He was on time. He was prior to the time. He introduced himself and seen what I needed done before going on the clock.

Excellent work done. Definitely will use again.

Completed odd jobs and painting within the purchased 4 hrs

How did it go? It didn't. This work was scheduled and PAID weeks in advance. 18 hours before the scheduled date, I receive an email--not a phone call--an email, stating they are 'sorry, but they cannot attend. They would like to reschedule'. No kidding--I'm quoting here. As though I invited them to a party and they can't make it. Unbelievable. Not even a phone call with a sincere apology for totally screwing up this customer's carefully scheduled plan. It's Sunday afternoon. This work (7 hour's worth) was scheduled for Monday morning. I don't typically even look at email on Sunday. I made special arrangements with my employer to work from home so that I could be there. The time and effort that this is now costing me to find a service that is actually RELIABLE, PROFESSIONAL, and RESPECTFUL is time I just do not have. Use this company at your own risk. Set the bar low and perhaps you won't be disappointed when they 'can't attend and need to reschedule, and tell you that rescheduling is just part of business' (another quote). I will think twice before paying for anything in advance again. This seems like a shady scheme to me.
