I just hired Tony Armstrong of Nastar Roofing to find and repair a leak in my asphalt roof. Tony detected the leak area(s) almost immediately and the expertly thorough repair was done in a very short time. I am completely satisfied with the professional service and would recommend Nastar Roofing to ANYONE!!!!!! Thank you for connecting me with Nastar.

I called 4 roofers for my project. 3 came out but 2 gave no estimate. One never responded, so I was happy to have a response from Nastar roofing and a prompt service call on 9/11/19 and have my project completed on 9/18/19. They arrived as scheduled and completed the work in less than a half of a day. Tony senior is very professional and he showed me every step of the way what would be needed for my project and he provided me with pictures of the leak. He also provided pictures of each step of the work as it was completed. Two thumbs up for these guys-Tony senior & Tony junior!

I just had a new roof put on my house, and was amazed at how professional the installation was accomplished. It started with the tear off of the old roof, when about six people showed up at 7:15 in the morning. They worked very well together and they were finished about 1:30 int the afternoon. Then several days later, one person showed up to put the new roof on. He worked by himself and spent about four days putting the new roof on the house. I was really amazed at how professional a job he did roofing the house. He was always careful not to walk on the new roof, and made sure that the underlayment had no air bubbles in it so the shingles would lay perfectly flat. After everything was finished, I was sure I had picked the right company to do the job.

It went fine. Tony called me within 5 minutes after I submitted a roofer request on Angie's list. He came out the next day to give me an estimate. The next day - he repaired my roof.

The most horrific experience I have had with a contractor ever. Their work it subpar at best, they caused more damage to my home than there was. Total disregard for my property destroying landscaping and leaving metal / nails everywhere. I punctured a hole in my heel because it went right through my flip flop and they know we have animals. Left openings in the attic area that water can get in that we weren't even aware of. Thankfully we had other work done in the attic for mold detection and that inspector spotted it. They failed their initial inspection and over a month later I am still sitting here waiting for them to return to fix it. Please do yourself a favor.... DO NOT HIRE . It is a nightmare !!! I have attached a few pictures below showing some of the damage to the interior - The crew that was first working was so lazy they couldn't carry things so they were throwing them and dropping them. The force of the hits on the house cause such rattle in the ceiling it cause the drywall to start cracking and chipping around the nails. I have these spots all over and the ceiling in the garage needs total repair. Worst mistake I have ever made was hiring them.

Nastar roofing was attentive to our needs and completed the project in a reasonable amount of time. I was initially put off at the amount of time that passed between removing the old shingles and installing the new ones, but I have since learned that that is a permitting delay and beyond the company's control. Once they started with the install, it was completed quickly. The roofer actually worked through a pretty scary storm to get the job completed (against my bidding to get off the slippery roof, BTW). There were a few leaks that resulted from the storm during the shingle-less period, which they attended to or compensated us for in a timely fashion. It is now a year later, and the roof has been a non-issue: a good thing when it comes to the roof, i think. The quality materials they provided also qualified us for $100s in saving on our home insurance. A great experience for a necessary evil.

THIS COMPANY SHOULD NOT BE PERMITTED TO EVEN ADVERTISE ON ANGIE'S LIST.
I CANNOT BELIEVE THAT ANGIE'S LIST ALLOWS CONVICTED FELONS and THIEVES TO PROWL ITS SITE FOR VICTIMS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
SHAME ON YOU ANGIE!!!! REALLY, UNLICENSED CONVICTED FELONS OPERATING ON YOUR SITE?
Because Mr. Skaggs cannot be licensed as a felon, he operates under the license of Ben Addison, who has no significant role in the business other than being paid to cover for the felon business owner, Skaggs.
NASTAR ROOFING should be avoided at all costs.
Let me start out by saying that Nastar Roofing is an A+ company. I originally had them and a few other roofing companies bid on a property re-roof job and though they weren't the lowest priced their estimator Robby did a wonderful job selling me on how much I was going to appreciate their work and would want to be a repeat many times over! Well I'll tell you they were RIGHT!
I'll start off on the first job that they did:
After reading the many great reviews on Angie's List I decided to give them a chance to bid on the project. I called and got setup with an appointment to meet with their Estimator Robby which he came when he said he would and he was straight forward and let me know it would be done to my satisfaction. At first, I was told it would be started within 10 days of the proposal signed. We ended up waiting an entire month until it got started! They apologized saying they were back logged and very busy but I waited and when they finally got on it... BOY, they got on it! these guys showed up in a big group and I think the entire job took them 3 solid days from start to finish! They cleaned up the nails, kept the job site CLEAN and when they were done I got a brand spankin' new roof and it shows! the communication is TOP NOTCH A+.
I liked Nastar Roofing SO MUCH that I hired them again on a second job for another re-roof at a different property:
This time I called and lets the girls know I was going to be needing Robby to come out to get us a proposal for another job:
Robby came within a great time frame and checked the job out and gave me a proposal via email. I spoke with them and decided I would have them do another one! They came out within a few weeks this time (rainy season was just started) so they were busy but they got on the ball and once they did the group came EARLY morning and spent a couple of days total and got it done! We had a situation where the torch down for the flat roof caused some damage to our security camera's but after bringing it to their attention they resolved it and we're very happy! The roof came out fantastic and the price after some additional wood work was needed still came in at a price point that we are satisfied.
So now... we're about ready to close on another property and we have plans to work again with Nastar Roofing!
These are folks we will refer to others in the real estate business and highly recommend them! Thanks guys!
I hired this company by recommendation from my wife who represented the owner in a legal matter (once I took action against Nastar, my wife had to drop her client) The problem is not just with Nastar it also lies with the Cape Coral Inspectors; they gave it a pass without inspecting and I made final payment of $16,000 dollars without walking the roof myself. I only found out when it rained this past week that they did not complete all the terms of the contract, completely exposing my roof to the elements. Bill Skaggs aka "LB" was quick talking & big on promises and fell very short when it came to delivery. It is only after hiring an attorney and having the city inspectors come out to the site did John McConnell, chief inspector, semi revoked the once passed inspection, that Nastar offered by, state statute requiring them to (CYA) reached out and offered to correct their negligence. The work they performed was sub standard & sloppy. His employees smoked and left cigarette butts all over, empty drink containers, on the safety issues that violate OSHA standards they came to the job site set up ladders then leave the site with ladders left up and unattended. There was roofing debris left on the roof and all over the property, nails, pieces of sharp metal.... I would not recommend this company based on my experience with them.Stay tuned, I will update this at the conclusion of the situation.Pr,

Roof is not leaking. They left nails and other debris on the roof, in the gutter and in the grass. I emailed them a photo of some of the debris picked up from the yard. Guttering was improperly re installed. Poor angle so all water would not drain, and the leaf shields were just set back in the gutters without being attached. I did not notice this issue until one leaf shield was blown into the yard following a storm. After another heavy rain storm, water was pouring over the gutter center section. That's when i got a ladder (this now is January, 2015) and saw how bad the gutter re install was finding more nails on the roof and in the gutter. They also left a roll of roofing material in the back yard that was very heavy which I hauled to the garbage pickup. In November, 2014, I discovered the lanai roof was leaking. I got estimates from 3 roofers, signed the contract with Nastar which promised to have the roof done by a certain date. It was not done as stated. While I was out of town a neighbor friend walked around the yard to inspect the roof job and found nails and debris which he picked up. I called Nastar and emailed them the photo of the debris which my neighbor emailed me. Nastar said they would run a magnet in the yard to pick up nails after I spoke to them and emailed them the photo of the debris. When I first contracted with them, Nastar told me they would run a magnet in the yard to pick up nails etc. If they did, they missed a lot of nails etc. I did not call them back to re install the gutter since it was obvious they did not know how to do that in the 1st place.

Response from Nastar Roofing
"Good morning [removed member name], I have read your review and I've also went into our records to do a little investigating. I do see where you had contacted us in regards to the nails and debris in the yard, which we had written a service call for and that was taken care of by a Service Tech. As for the gutters, I have no notes regarding the improperly installed gutters, and no phone calls regarding it either. Our company does care take pride in the quality of our workmanship, and I apologize that the gutters were not done correctly. We do have a separate gutter, soffit, and fascia division that could have been sent to the home after you noticed the damage, but we were never informed. I apologize that you were not happy, I wish you would have contacted us sooner in regards to your gutters. Have a great day [removed member name]."

The negative is the follow up. We had a leak after they fixed the house, I called on Wednesday and it wasn’t until the following Wednesday that they showed up and this was after they had done the roof. Then they turned around and took the gutters down and they still haven’t fixed them. They sent a guy out here and the boy ended up going the wrong way because they just don’t follow up. It is not the workers, it is the office staff or whoever has done the scheduling, just poor follow-up and they don’t communicate. The price was fine but the administration was really bad. The workers were good, hey showed up early and the estimator was good and the supervisor of the field crew was good but when you go through the office, that’s where everything fails. I don’t have all major problems with the workmen, hey put in extra vents and things like that so that was good.

The first gentleman to come out with the quote was very punctual and professional. I felt at ease with him immediately. He was extremely knowledgeable and did not try to sell me anything other than what I was asking for. Triple A to him. The person who was to do the repair was a no show until the next day. When I called him he took full responsibility claiming a calender conflict. When he did show up, he did an excellent job and was very apologetic about being a day late. Even though, I will still call them sometime in the next couple of years do replace my entire roof. I highly recommend this company.

I needed a roof inspection for a refinance mortgage. I called Nastar, and they assigned it to one of their employees. They gave me his cell phone number and a date and time when he should be at my home. When he didn't show up, I called him, and he sounded like he had just woken up. He rescheduled for the next day, and when he didn't show up again, I called him again, and he said he would be at my house in half an hour. Again, he sounded like I woke him up. I waited and waited, but he didn't show up, so I called the Nastar office to let them know. The woman who answered the phone apologized and asked me who was supposed to be doing the roof inspection. I told her, and she said she would have Scotty come do the inspection instead. The next day, Scotty called me and came to my house to perform the inspection. He was polite, courteous and very informative. He let me know everything I needed to know, and did not charge me for the roof inspection. Scotty provided me with an inspection report, and I was able to get my home refinanced.
The company showed up on time and completed the roof replacement on time. The salesman had promised some extra work on the fascia boards; this work took months to be done and in the end was a disappointment.
Response from Nastar Roofing
"I apologize for the work that was unsatisfactory. I will look into it a little bit more and get back to you."
