Nebraska Furniture Mart

It was installed, I thought the guys who installed did a good job. About a month later, couple of the planks to raise hence it lost the adhesion. I called Nebraska, the it took 2 months to send an inspector. The Inspector determined the issue was with the quality of the installed floor and not the installer. So I called back Nebraska about the resolution... as frustrating as it is, the person who is handling claim is out of office. This happens always, if you are lucky at the fifth time, you will reach this person and each time they are sorry and they give bs why it was done. This is my 10 month since I start my claim. So frustrated.

I think that they did very timely job. They did in the time frame that they said they would because they had to tear up the old carpeting and put in the new so that was done very well. The only thing that they could improve possibly on some of their finishing work like along the walls and that is not as good as the previous installers.

They could have had me deal with the same person from the beginning to the end of the process instead of having to deal with so many different people. I would consider using them with the same, specific installer again. I would use them again if I had the same identical installer.

Two men moved the w/d into the basementof my rental house. I had purchased hoses at the  <br /> Mart for connecting to the hot and cold water.  They told me these were too short. They  <br /> didn't have longer ones in the truck.  They stretched them tight and made them work. They <br /> were concerned that they would need shims to level. They had no shims with them.  <br /> They connected the expandable dryer vent to the dryer and to the outside. It was too  <br /> long, so they coiled up 3 feet of it on the floor behind the dryer.  Then they attached the dryer <br /> drain hose, which was too short to fit into the drain pipe. They didn't have longer pipe in the  <br /> truck.  I offered to go to a hardware store and get an extension for the drain pipe. When I returned <br /> the men were gone.  <br /> I drove to the Mart to tell them my story. I spoke with the Customer Service person, who <br /> placed an additional order for another installation with the correct hoses. This was to be <br /> done a week later. I was clear that the installation was to be at my rental house. They  <br /> would call ahead so I could meet them. <br /> On July 6 another team arrived. They were coming to install a dryer vent hose. <br /> The order at the customer service counter specifically said that this was to be a washer discharge hose. <br /> They explained that their order stated dryer vent, and showed it to me. That's what it said.  <br /> They left although they were sympathetic, they had to go onto another job.  <br /> I went to the harware store to get a longer discharge hose to do the job myself. I called <br /> customer service. They removed the $79. fee.  When I arrived home, a NFM truck pulled up. <br /> I asked them why they were there. They said they were to install a washer dryer. I explained <br /> that there was no reason, as two teams had already tried. They were at the wrong address <br /> anyway.  I explained my story and they were willing to follow me to the rental and rectify the  <br /> situation.  They had no tools or hoses. I showed them the hose I had purchased at the store. They <br /> clamped it on (borrowing my screw driver). It was too long, so they borrowed my utility knife to <br /> shorten it. They stuck it down the discharge pipe with a distict crimp in it. I asked them to start the washer <br /> to see if it worked. Water sprayed out from the joint. They tightened it, and left.  When asked <br /> why they didn't carry different lengths of hoses or tools they said,"That would mess up the truck." <br /> (They are driving big moving truck size vehichles. ) <br /> Later that night I got a phone call from NFM that they would arrive the next day to install a  <br /> washer/dryer.  This was the 4th team that had called for the same washer /dryer.  <br /> I explained that they were the 4th team and that three teams had already <br /> been misinformed and ill prepared.  Honestly it was laughable at that point. <br /> I called a plumber to make this W/D work.  He noted the 3 feet of coiled dryer vent would collect  <br /> dryer debris and block the vent. In addition the crimped discharge hose would prevent the washer from  <br /> emptying into the drain.   <br /> Not only was the NFM experience time consuming and expensive it also could've been dangerous. <br /> The various installers were referred to as "independent contractors".  They drive NFM trucks, <br /> wear NFM uniforms, deliver NFM merchandise.  They are dispatched to their jobs by NFM.  <br /> ]Is the independent contractor designation a legal loop hole to distance NFM from shoddy  <br /> installations?   <br /> <br />

Very satisfied with our sales experience from Rick @ the NFM.  Carpet is exactly as we hoped: cushy, love the color and feel of the carpet.  The installation from Jason and his crew was even better.  Took them longer than they anticipated but that wasn't a problem.  Worked with us to accommodate whatever we needed.  Paid them to move furniture, no problem.  He even came back after the install to seam together and lay some remnant pieces in our furnace room.  Very excellent install; ask for Jason for your installer if you purchase @ NFM.  We purchased the Mohawk SmartStrand carpet with a Mohawk pad.  <br />

<p>Since Angie's list didn't exist back in 2006 and what happened to us is still clear, I thought I would let everyone know what happened to us.  First NFM hired a third party contractor to put in the new floor.  They did a great job but decided to put all the sawdust down our ducts. When our air conditional would come on it start snowing sawdust. We had to hire someone to clean the air ducts to fix that problem. NFM sent a photographer to our house to take pictures but he was more like an attorney.  He gave the impression that he was making sure that we weren't going to take legal action.</p> <br />

They delivered the wrong refrigerator, but they rectified the problem to our satisfaction. Furthermore, the people with whom we dealt were professional and friendly.

<p>We had new and quot;tileand quot; installed in two bathrooms. I like the look of stone tile but don't like grout lines and other issues that come with tile. </p> <p>People that actually have travertine in their homes have mistaken it for travertine. </p> <p> The sales staff knew their stuff. The installer also did a fine job. However, the job took two days, and my husband had only taken one day off work. The Furniture Mart adjusted the bill to reflect some changes in the installation and sent us a gift card to thank my husband for taking the second day.</p> <br />

They showed up on time and worked hard all day, getting the install done in one day. We were very happy with their work! <br />

The salesman was very patient and informative. He made my husban feel like he was the salesman's number one priority even with the line of other customers needing attention. <br />

The installers were very professional. Everything was moved out expertly to lay the carpet. Can't tell where it was seamed even almost a year later. Very pleased with the service provided. <br />

Nebraska Furniture Mart's contractors are wonderful. I was here. I watched them start to finished. They did a professional job. I love my floors. They did not take a long time but took their time. They were professional about what I needed to make it last. Price is reasonable and they gave me a warranty. Anything that would happen to my floor, they would come right back. They came out, had enough workers, responded really good, did my floors and told me if I had any problems or anything I was displeased with to give them a call. I was not displeased at all. They were on time, brought just what they needed, put the floors down and they were gone in a couple of days. They were also really professional. I had checked them out to see how many floors they did before and how many complains they had and there was none, none for me either.
