Well I made the mistake and went with Home Advisor, and I got a not so good contractor so it didn't turn out well so I'm kind of fearful to try anything so and I called them and of course they had no recourse. So I'm sure you know, he had a five star rating, there were 5 people that rated him you know five stars. I said you know it must have been his relatives and they said oh no...we call and check, well he can have his relatives say that you know. So I'm very you know fearful of doing anything like that anymore so. Word of mouth, get it done. Needy Construction with an N. I hope not. Ho do you all do yours? Home Advisor's did too and they said well, we can suspend his company. I said well, I would advise you to do that, cause I'm gonna take it to the Attorney Generals office. Well he dropped his two workers off and it took them maybe 4 hours to do it, and they took the chimney down. And didn't leave them with anything but a concrete saw so I had to find some shovels and some buckets so they could move the bricks and stuff down to the pile where they were supposed to pick them up. And then he said he'd be back to pick up the pile and to fix the hole in the roof and I haven't seen him since. Yeah...so you can understand why. He collected the money and since it was right before Christmas, I thought, he gave me this story about, you know he had to go out and buy Christmas presents for his kid and all. He had his kid with him when he came to pick up the works, so I paid him the other half. I paid him half up front and then half when it was supposed to be done, and then after I paid him the second half he was gone. He hasn't called me, nothing. So I still have the pile of bricks and the hole in the roof. He came back and got the workers and that was it after I paid him. I should have not been sap enough to listen to the story about how he had to go out and buy Christmas gifts for his kids, but I was and it was right before Christmas and I thought, man, you know, he's basically done the work so he just needs to clean up and fix the hole in the roof. And I thought for sure and I said are you coming back, Oh yes ma'am, I will, I will. Yeah...so now you can see. He was supposed to come like the 10th of December and he would call and give me excuses, you know that he couldn't come because he hadn't finished this other job yet, yada, yada, yada, ya. I said well I have to have it done before Christmas. So he came and I think it was like the 18th was the first time I wrote the check and said he would be out the next day. Well, didn't see him, didn't see him. Called him back, oh yeah...he's coming, he's coming. So finally showed up and like I said he dropped his employees here, two guys which was very nice. And they did what they were supposed to do, and then he came and picked them and wanted the other check and said he'd be back to fix the hole and pick up the bricks and stuff, and like I said he didn't show. I told him that I had, had other bad experiences with my mother when she was doing construction work and stuff around her house. One guy, and we ended up taking him to court. Didn't build a retaining wall for her, took her money and she was older, so I went to court and finally by payments got that back, so I told him you know how fearful I was of the job. Oh I wouldn't do that to you. Oh yes you would. I don't understand them. They want to have a business then why wouldn't you treat people nicely. I mean at least call you back and say well, I can't make it today, but I'll be there another day and give you a different time or something. I would beg him. I left messages on his cellphone, on his business and everything saying you know could you just come fix the hole in the roof. It's gonna rain, I have a bucket under the hole in the roof. I had a friend of mine put a board up there but it's not sealed or anything, so it does leak. I haven't found anyone to fix the roof yet, and like I said, I'm pretty sure that I'm going to see how to find someone that I at least know before I would do that again. I'm just fearful of getting someone that would do that to me again.
