Tech arrived 5 1/2 hrs. late (though 30-40 mins. of time late b/c of tech's assistance with a social services emergency). Immediately said that I had "a lot of things wrong" and with my "discounts," I was billed $761 ($349.99 for 1 torsion spring with a lifetime warranty, $183.99 for a pack of 10 rollers, and service/labor for $200). At that point, I was too tired to to argue. Tech was done in 30 mins. or less. Receipt later emailed from Neighborhood Garage Door Service of Charlotte although I had made the appointment with Five Star Door Repair. Have been searching on internet for a day, and cost is about twice what I have seen online for similar service. I really feel taken advantage of by this company.

Great service. I was stuck on a Sunday unable to open my garage door and I called neighborhood garage door company. Someone was there in half an hour and took care of the problem at a very reasonable price. Quinn explain what he was doing and I would definitely use them again.

In the end that is what we did. In a way I feel like I was cheated because, I don't think that I needed a whole new opener. They are the experts, I'm not. The people that I called to schedule with were in Denver, and the people who came out said that they worked for them through a different company. The coordination between the two was OK, it was confusing. If I look at the invoices it is hard to see. It wasn't a great local company that came out, They were designed to up sell me stuff, instead of doing what they were supposed to do. They said that my garage door was dangerous and I needed to replace it. They were very pressuring on the sales stuff. That wasn't what I signed up for. I thought I was going to get an experienced, local company. Not some guy that was going to come out and sell as much as he could. The week after they installed it, it ripped out of the ceiling. They came back and fixed it. They said the tension coils were put in incorrectly, it was a pain. It scraped the top of the tenants car, and I had to deal with the issues. They did the up sell and didn't do it right. It punched through the door, so now I have a damaged garage door. I still have the same problem, the rollers still make the same sound and it takes a couple of times to get it to go up and down because it gets stuck. The problem wasn't solved and I spent 10 times what the big deal was for. The big deal was about $60 and I spend $550, I still have the same problem. I have a ripped out ceiling, and I had to pay for the repairs to the tenants car. They had a hard time coordinating with the company in Denver. They were very responsive. They call themselves one thing, the people I called up were different, people that show-up are different, and they have a different name. I wouldn't recommend them. Everything is different. They scared my tenants. I would never recommend, and I would never use them for anything else.
