They almost finished but I made the mistake of paying when they were almost done. They didn't show up to remove the last of the plywood forms for the retaining wall. I called at least 4 times and requested that Nelson, the owner of the Co. to send someone to complete the job. He told me 4 times ok and gave me a day when they would come to do that. All 4 times no one showed up. And no one called to say they wouldn't be there. I feel that Nelson was playing with me but do not understand why? I paid in full. $12,000 + tax. Also, he requested I make the check out to his name. I don't know if that is legal to do or not. But I did it.

The job was not performed satisfactorily because the finishing machine broke down. Additionally, the stair steps were not properly sloped which will cause Ice and snow hazards.

Making a long story short I was told 2 weeks and they finished in the 4th week. The patio was to be 15’ x 43’ but he didn’t order enough concrete so now it’s 35’. One of his boys ran a piece of equipment into my and someone hit it a second time. My RV gravel area was a total mess and I had to tell him to fix it. I wrote him the final check for less and now I’ll fix my yard and RV area myself. My advice would be to just hire someone else.

Bad. Need help to have my job be right and to get what I paid for.

Driveway cracks one week after it was done, and the owner would not return my call or message. Very frustrated.

One of the most unprofessional companies we've ever worked with. Not only unprofessional they were clearly in over their head with the job. They were hired to replace two sets of concrete stairs and sidewalks. They demo'd everything, including the surrounding lawn, and gardens due to their careless work, then disappeared for over a week leaving us no safe exit from our house. When they did return and started framing up everything was crooked and had to be redone, three times. They started building out one of the stairs and it was visually uneven, the stairs weren't even the same size and they didn't go deep enough for it to be safe. After re-doing that, it still wasn't solid, but it was a bit better. They finally started pouring. The crew that did the back stairs clearly knew what they were doing - they look great, and all of the stairs are the same size, etc. What you would expect. Unfortunately, the front stairs, the huge staircase that faces the street, is uneven, terrible discolored skim work, all of the stairs are different sizes (ranging from 14"-16"), columns were crooked, caps were wavy, sloppy. Asked them to fix at least the skim work and they did not. The concrete is at least two different colors and as it dried it began cracking immediately. So nearly two months later, a project that was supposed to take two weeks, we still had months of work to repair their damage. Over the course of this they drove their heavy dump truck over our existing driveway destroying a quarter of it along with our destroyed front yard. They did bring in some top soil, but didn't even complete their clean up. By the time they were done, we were out the entire cost of the project, nearly 2k in gardening materials to put our yard back together, it'll cost thousands to repair the driveway and we still had to spend another 3k with another stucco/concrete company to attempt a fix at the stairs they built. That is all on top of 60+hrs in labor to repair the damages. Do NOT work with this company.

Nelson and his crew did an excellent job. Looks great and will add value to our home. I would use them again for any concrete needs.

Very fair bid and delivered a great project. The finished project was very sharp and the crews were knowledgeable and professional. Nelson removed and replaced approximately 1600sf of driveway, explained the whole process from start-to-finish and delivered on his word. Would definitely recommend.

This was a very good experience, the owner and crew were very nice and easy to work with. I would have more work done in the future by this company.

Nelson did a great job from start to finish. Communication was timely, and project was done within three days of us agreeing the bid. Great guy, and I would gladly hire him again.

After he submitted a very competitive bid, I hired Nelson and his team to remove an old and damaged concrete carport slab, pour a new one and also replace the support posts for the carport roof cross beams. It was a big project and I needed a quick turnaround. The final work product exceeded my expectations and I was extremely satisfied with the final result. The new carport is beautiful, structurally sound and has added significant value to my house. Nelson was also a pleasure to work with. He was professional, continually kept me informed on the progress of the project and was always responsive if I had questions. The project came in right on budget and he even finished a day earlier than originally planned. I would definitely recommend Nelson and his team! They were great!

I rarely writes review, but I feel if I don’t write this one, they are going to hurt more people. My advice to you is never hire them. Very bad people to deal with. Nelson and his crew seem nice and hard working at first working for my neighbor’s driveway. So, we hired them to redo our driveway late June, 2018 and that is when all the trouble started. They were so rush on the job that they ordered the concrete pulling truck to come before all preparation work are done correctly. When I told them to make sure all the preparations were done properly before they could pull the concrete, they told me to pay addition since no concrete would be available of week of July 4th and they are professionals. My new driveway started to discolor with big orange spots here and there about 3 weeks after they left. I called them, and they never came to take a look at it or fix it. When my driveway started to crack and concretes started to peel off in some spots about a month after that, I called them again. They never came and not answering any of my calls afterwards. They have done so bad of job that my driveway has concrete peelings everywhere including the ones that next to the concrete joints. They have done so bad of the job that when other concrete people came by to see if they can fix it just tell us to redo the whole thing. Now, I can see why all the pictures on their website are stuff that are just finish.

I needed my drive way removed and replaced, along with the walkway to the house. Nelson Concrete was quick to respond to my request for estimates, professional in the estimate process and was able to begin the project right away. They answered all my questions quickly and had was quick to understand my primary needs (aesthetics and ensuring water drained in the correct path). During the job, they were attentive and kept me informed along the way. They left the job site clean and did a good job at not disrupting other landscaping in the process. I love the final appearance, coloring, and stamping! It has yet to rain to determine whether their assurance that water will drain the correct direction is true, and if it does not I’m confident that they will work with me on resolution. I’m 99% happy with the job and the 1% is small area that may need some touch-up and they have committed to fixing any concerns until I’m 100% satisfied. Nelson Concrete has been true to their word thus far and I believe they work with integrity and will keep their word. I will post any followup if I run into struggles that some other reviewers have noted but I'm confident of his integrity thus far. At this time, I would recommend them to anyone needing concrete work done.

These guys did a nice job, and the workers were very conscientious and diligent. Two of the guys, Mo (Moses) and Sopo, were onsite for every day of this long project, worked especially hard, and deserve extra appreciation and thanks! The crew was flexible with minor design changes along the way, and accomodated various city inspections and schedule adjustments. Definitely recommend their work.

Nelson and his crew were very easy to work with and suggested some improvements to the original work plan. The work was done on time without any cost over-runs, and they did a decent job cleaning up afterward.

We hired Nelson and his crew to lay a stamped concrete walkway from our driveway, through the backyard to the other side of the deck. Nelson was very attentive to what we wanted and offered good suggestions. He was quick to respond to texts and showed up when he said he would. I thought his bid was a little high but we wanted it done and he could do it in our timeframe. I would highly recommend Nelson and his company for your outside needs.

They did a great job. The only slight problem we had was that they no-showed the first appointed day/time, but they came as promised at the next one set up.

We recently hired Nelson Concrete to pour a patio in our yard. Nelson was very helpful in explaining our options and helping design the project. His price was very competitive. We signed the contract Friday afternoon and on Monday the Nelson crew was on site. The concrete was poured by Wednesday and Nelson came on Thanksgiving Morning to finish the project. The resulting patio is exactly what we requested and we are very pleased.

Nelson and his crew did a great job with the project and I would recommend them for similar work. The demo turned out to be more challenging than anticipated because we discovered that the old patio was over 10 inches thick. This required a great deal of extra work for the crew, including hauling out the large pieces individually and by hand, and bringing in extra backfill material. A change order did result from this, but the price was fair for the additional work. The new patio pour and finishing went smoothly. We did the project in the fall, which resulted in some challenges with the weather. We had to wait for good weather days for the initial pour, coloring, and sealing. Nelson was very professional and proactive with communication, always letting me know when they planned to come out and whenever we needed to reschedule due to changing weather. He also worked closely with me to make sure the outline, pattern, detailing, and color were exactly what I wanted and did a good job cleaning up the backyard when the work was completed.

This is a follow up to a positive review posted initially after job was completed. I like Nelson personally and wanted to give him the benefit of the doubt even though our project had some issues some of which he promised they would clear up in time. Well, not only did those issues not clear up, but it has simply gotten worse. I have asked Nelson for months to rectify his work but he has strung me along, blaming concrete manufacturer, missing review appointments, not responding to requests for resolution. So now I am going to post a review that includes all of the issues we experienced with him so that the next customer knows what they may be getting into. The initial phase of our project went fine and I liked Nelson's plan for our new driveway. The issues started after the concrete was poured and the border to the asphalt street was very crooked and chunks had been taken out of the asphalt which made it very bumpy and uneven leaving the driveway. When we pointed this out to Nelson, he initially acted like it was fine and we had to push him to straighten the border and fill the holes. Another problem appeared right after pour was complete when we had a light sprinkle and there was some clearly visible streaking from something that they had put on top of the cement (sealant or something). I notified Nelson right away and he said it was no big deal. Well that streaking turned into a massive splotch of discoloration that has not gone away. In addition, the entirety of the driveway is completely inconsistent coloration, different shades and colors in streaks and splotches. Nelson blames this on concrete manufacturer when that is not my issue, he needs to supply a quality product and if he chooses a poor supplier, that is his problem. Another issue was with the gravel area that we wanted installed on the side of the driveway and house. Initially his crew just dumped lumpy dirt that was more garbage than dirt or even gravel. We had to have Nelson come out multiple times to point out we wanted GRAVEL not garbage dirt. After these repeated requests, he finally added the product that should have been there in the first place. Just like the border with the street, his crew cut corners and had to be forced to fix things by repeated complaints, just bad business. Additionally, almost immediately three large cracks formed, which is understandably a risk with any concrete pour but there are no reasons for them to happen in this case unless the concrete has issues. The weather had been perfect, there are no trees/roots/etc and these cracks were evident within days/weeks of project completion. On top of all of these issues, a possibly larger concern is the appearance of what looks like a complete spider web of cracking going on the surface of the entire driveway. It looks as if the entire surface is compromised and will likely fail and crumble away in a short period of time. Like I said, I have repeatedly asked Nelson to rectify this situation and he either makes excuses or skips meetings or ignores messages. It has been 4 months now and I have reached the end of my patience. There are pictures attached to attest to everything I have described. DO NOT USE THIS VENDOR FOR YOUR DRIVEWAY!!!

Our project proceeded very smoothly. Nelson went out of his way to make sure that things were completed to our satisfaction and on time. He and his crew were very professional and seemed to take pride in providing excellent customer service. We have dealt with a number of contractors with mixed results. Nelson provided a fine example of what it is like to work with a really good, conscientious contractor.

If you need concrete work done this is the company to pick. Their price was fair, they do high quality work and are great to work with. Nelson responded very quickly to our request and had some good ideas for what needed to be done. They finished our driveway ahead of time and we get lots of complements on it!!!
