I had an experience with Neponset Valley Construction. They did work about three years ago. I would tell others that they're more for exterior jobs than they are interior jobs, the work is kind of shoddy. The price was the reason we went with them.

The works seems very professionally done. However, it took six weeks for them to begin work after we paid the initial deposit. Also, they initially refused to clean up the enormous mess left in the attic saying it "wasn't in the contract." The contract specifically included "removal of debris" from the site but they later said this did not include cleaning up the debris left in the attic. To their credit, they agreed to come back and clean the attic, not because they acknowledged it was included in the contract, but because they didn't specifically tell us that attic clean up wasn't included (in their interpretation of the contract). Supplies were left sitting in our driveway for two weeks after the job was finished. The actual workers worked hard and were very polite. Midway through the job, they started to leave the site at the end of the day leaving parts of the attic exposed and uncovered. When we expressed concern about leaving that area open to the elements and bugs overnight, they returned to the roof and completed the open areas before leaving for the day. Overall, we were satisfied with the work and the final product.
It took a month to come out, but he answered all of the questions that we had. His prices were reasonable. He did it nickel and dimes. He was very responsive. When we had a problem he would come out right away or he would send somebody that in authority that work form because he has like a general form and that kind of handle some of the jobs. A lot of crews are foreign born and English is not their first language, but he always made sure that he had one person on the crew that spoke good English and he made sure that we were introduced to each other then we could go to them. On our roofing, it was $16,750 I guess for the price and then on the windows it was $27,700 and they were the same windows that Simon Brothers had proposed, same brand of windows so we were comparing apples to apples. We got the roofing done probably in October last fall. It was a different crew that did the windows. The windows we finalized everything in October. There was just a lot of little details about how you're going to handle it, how you're going to handle that. But the windows they started in December and I want to say they finished the last bit of it probably in the beginning of February. There was a lot windows, 29. When there were something that we were questioning or that we weren't too happy about that he would come and resolve the issue right away. He was very responsive, very professional and very personable. My husband is so happy with them that we are going to start a garage addition this fall, and he didn't even ask for a price ahead of time or even considered getting another price. He just said, "We'll call Brian and we'll work out with him how we are going to do this". Plus, on the roofing, they were so neat about it. They were very neat and very respectful of the spaces and everything, but the roofing, they did such a neat clean job cleaning it up. I know it was a little hard because it was snowing on the ground that time, that our neighbors across the street said, "We really like them. Who did your roofing? We're going to call them". It was noticeable how they tried to accommodate us in any way that they could. We were very happy with them. We are going to use them in the future.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. First, from the beginning we had a problem with the siding. Nails were showing on the white boards, and the workmanship was sloppy, especially around our front door. We also had gutter guards flying off into the yard. I reviewed this on the list at that time. At least the company came out and fixed the problems at that time.
The winter before last, we had a new problem with the roof. We had water coming in down several of front windows of our house. Someone came out when I called and said that the gutter had become separated from the roof. They fixed it and said it was now fine. I posted a second review at that time.
Now this past winter, we did not have any leaks, but had water spots develop on freshly painted ceilings - due to ice dams again. I called the Neponset Valley again and left several messages, but there was no response. Brian refused to call me back. Someone did suggest that we install a heating system on the roof to avoid ice dams - more money to them!
I had another company come in and was told that the 3 feet of ice and water barrier that was installed was insufficient. They inspected the barrier and told me that type of barrier lasts only about 5 years - just the amount of time we had it. They showed me how it had crumbled and disintegrated. They said we needed a 5-6 foot ice and water shield to wrap the fascia board so it would not leak. This is more like rubber than gravel and lasts longer. It also wraps around the board so water does not back up under it. Now we have to pay the new company to replace the bottom several feet of roof.
I would completely avoid Neponset. They had poor workmanship from the beginning, and had a product that was not designed to last. We had damage to our windows and they avoided my calls. Beware that they certainly do not hold up to their "15-year workmanship guarantee."

UPDATE 2/10/15
After the storms this year we now have water trickling down the walls in our kitchen. Last summer we spent $4K to repair the water barriers near the gutters. Now water is coming through in a new place.
AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS.

The service worked out fine. They did a good job with the foundation work that we had them do. They did within the scope of work and we talked about doing more at another time but we just did the deal at that point. I will not use them again just because of the difficulty being in touch with them for additional work.

They did exactly what they said they'd do. There was a certain limit in terms of the size of the deck that they were going to do. We knew it because I measured that before and that would going to have an extra charge so that was fine. They did an excellent job. There was no problem on the appointment that we agreed upon. Everything worked out well in terms of timing, doing the job, and what we agreed upon beforehand, that's what it cost. The price seems reasonable to me.

It was going to take longer than the hours in the deal and they gave us an accurate estimate for that. They also found an issue with one of our steps that needed to be fixed. Their prices seemed rather high, but they did a professional job and gave us accurate estimates. It ended up costing several times the special deal that we bought, but got us to do some maintenance work we had been putting off.

The men came and performed the work, having to wait in between coats due to rainy weather. They returned as soon as the wood was dry enough to put on the sealant. 'they were very professional and left no mess. Were nice enough to leave some pant in case some touchup was needed later,
