On 06/26/17 I first called New Life Carpets (now Acumen) to set up an appointment to have my carpets professionally cleaned. In the past I have done it myself but wanted to save myself the work. I spoke to a very nice gentleman, I think Brian was his name, on the phone about what services I needed, 3 rooms cleaned, and he gave me an estimate for the work of 105.00 plus tax. He stated they have a morning window and an afternoon window but if I choose the 9 am time I would be the first appointment for the day. So I scheduled my appointment for Monday July 3rd at 9 am and was told I would receive a phone call from the tech 30 min or so before they arrive. I made sure I had all of my furniture moved, mostly to my backyard as it was sunny weather, and was all ready to go. Monday morning 9 am comes and no call, no tech. I waited until 9:30 am and called the company and spoke to a woman who told me I was in a 9-noon window and that I had been misinformed about the 9 am time. At 11:30 the tech shows up and I walk him through my home to show the areas that needed to be cleaned. He began to set up and from the time he began his cleaning to the time he was packed up and ready to leave was a total of 30 min. As I walked through the rooms and see a lot of remaining dirt spots I began to question why these were not clean. I received a response of those being heavily soiled traffic areas. One area was in front of my couch and the other an area that sits under a side table. Feeling that maybe I just needed to let them sit and dry and they may look better after I gave the man my credit card for payment and he left for his next job. The next morning I again looked over the carpets and the now dry carpets did not look clean at all. Both my daughter and mother commented that it did not look as if I had even had them cleaned. Being the 4th of July the office was closed so I left a voice message hoping for a call the next day when the office was to open again at noon. By 2pm I still had not heard back from them and so I once again called. I again spoke to the female and I explained to her the situation. She did not apologize, acknowledge my issue or even seem to care and I honestly felt like more of a bother by her tone. She simply asked when I wanted a tech to come out and do it again. Thinking they might get someone out right away I explained sooner would be better as I have my furniture still outside. She said the soonest was on Friday between 9 am and noon. So another two days. Being this was my week of vacation, as I explained to the lady, and I hadn't planned to spend it dealing with carpet cleaning, I happened to have plans already that day. So I requested they be there at 9 am Saturday morning. Once again no care from her of my inconvenience just a simple I have you down for Saturday at 9 am with a senior tech. At this point I am really irritated that my week of relaxing vacation is being spent dealing with some lady that could care less of my irritation or inconvenience. Saturday morning and the tech called to tell me he was on his way and running just slightly late due to an accident. I let him know that was no problem and I would see him when he arrived. He arrived shortly after and was surprised to learn that one of his coworkers had been there Monday already. He asked a few questions to which I answered no that was not done and he assured me he would make sure it got done this time. This gentleman, Moen Harmon, was friendly, worked hard and spent about 90 mins on my carpets getting them perfectly clean. He did a fantastic job and I was very appreciative of his hard work. Mr. Moen Harmon gets an A++ from me. His company however, does not. Later that night I had logged in to check my credit card history and found that I was overcharged by the company, When the first tech had come there was a koolaid stain which he stated he could remove at an additional 30.00 cost. I agreed to that cost. The stain mostly came out but left a yellowing all around and thankfully when Moen came he was able to get the yellowing out leaving just a small light pink area which is still a huge improvement over the bright red it was. I again called and left a voice message asking about the overcharge to my credit card and wanted to receive a call back as soon as they came in on Monday. Today is Tuesday in the late afternoon and still no call or contact from the company. At this point I feel I must chalk it up to a loss and lesson to never use or recommend New Life Carpet or Acumen Carpet cleaning again. Sadly I had a few different friends, co-workers and neighbors all waiting to see how my carpets turned out as they were all looking for a carpet cleaning company as well.

He was on time and did a good job!

Great! We thought we were going to have to replace our carpet because of all the stains. They got almost all the stains out. Our carpet looks great, feels softer and smell good.

Started with purchasing a great deal from a discount website. There were several criteria involved in selecting the company: Angie's List rating, steam clean only, price, & served my zip code (98391). I initially had to contact the company four times: busy signal, left voicemail, sent email, called and they answered. Their scheduling was very convenient and they came in 3 days later. They do give a three hour window in which they will come but will call about 20 minutes before they arrive. Though they do not move furniture since it is only one person, the gentleman that arrived to do the cleaning helped me move our heavy couch. He spoke with us about what has needed for the heavily soiled or stained areas. The extra agitator service was $45 more and only a 1m x 2m space was done. I felt he went took fast once he got started. It was only one quick pass, and I did feel like the water was actually "steam" cleaning. He also could have done a better job trying to suck as much of it up so it didn't take so long to dry. We began walking on it with bags on our feet about 6 hours later with all of our fans and heaters blowing on it, and all the windows open. We could still feel moisture for another 30 hours. Some areas we saw no change, like the stairs, but the area cleaned with the agitator looked 10 times better. Overall we were satisfied, and the value was great, but had we paid full price we may had been disappointed.  <br />

They arrived on time and completed work quickly. I think they completed work too quickly, because I think some of the stains could have come out but because it only took about 20 minutes to complete 400 square feet of extraction, I just don't think he gave it a fair shot of stain removal. <br />

The work was performed but in a mechanical manner which seemed to focus on getting the bare minimum done. This service was used to do a move-out carpet cleaning, we used another service to do a move-in cleaning and the difference was clear. The other service did multiple passes to clean the carpet, this service seemed content to just cover everything once rather than focusing on whether it was done best. <br />

He did a professional job, and I would use the company again. <br />

I bought an Angie's list deal for this. Booking was very easy. They showed up at the right time and cleaned the rooms I wanted very well. I would use them again. <br />

The technician was on time and very professional. He was knowledgeable, and took the time to explain what was causing some of the stains on the carpet. He did a very good job. The cost was higher than the coupon, because I added a few things. <br />

Raul arrived on time. He was professional and polite while he did his work. I was very pleased with the outcome. The carpets have not been cleaned for over a decade. So, the job was above my expectations. Thank you again for the good work and results. I will recommend this company to others. <br />

<p>When I scheduled the appointment for carpet cleaning, I mentioned to the scheduler that the reason I wanted our carpet cleaned was due to a cat having used my son's closet to urinate and poop as well as in the kid's play room. I was told to go ahead and purchase the $129 deal from Angie's List and they would be able to take care of that for me in two days. I was really pleased with the rapid turn around time as I really wanted to take care of this problem.</p> <p>The appointment was scheduled for 2 pm on a Friday. I spent the morning moving furniture to our basement and outside as well as vacuuming. I received a phone call that an earlier appointment had cancelled so that the carpet cleaner could show up as early as 12:00. I was fine with that but when the carpet cleaner showed up and I showed him the areas, he told me it would be an additional $ 50 to treat the pet stained areas even though the coupon clearly states one bottle of professional pet urine remover is included. When I showed the coupon to the carpet cleaner, he told me that was a typo and I still needed to pay the additional $50. Even if it was a typo, New Life should have covered that additional cost as it was their error, not mine. I truly believed I was scammed.</p> <br />

Very punctual, professional and courteous. It was originally 99 dollars but I added a room when they arrived. So I think it was around 125 dollars. <br />
