Great work! They were also very careful to minimize the fumes in the house. One year later-- the tub still looks like new. All went according to estimate and schedule; a fraction of what I would pay to replace the bathtub.

The scheduling went well and they did show up on time. However, all they did was sandblast and spray paint the tub. After about 3 uses of the tub it was already chipping. It isn't smooth on the inside like a tub should be - or how it was before they painted it. It looks horrible now.

New Surface Technology.

Resurface Cultured Marble Surfaces

Joe Papa and his son John, owners of New Surface Technology, were highly recommended to me by Home Advisor. After trying the yellow pages with absolutely no luck I called Home Advisor. They connected me to New Surface Technology. Mr. Papa called back immediately and came out the next day to make a bid. He explained how he would resurface our Cultured Marble surfaces in our bathrooms including sinks, cabinet tops, bathtub and walls around them and still be able to see the marbling of the original surface. We were having new faucets installed in our bathrooms and since it had been 28 years since they were put in, the surface around the existing faucets had stained and the new faucets would not fit the same shape to cover the stains. Joe Papa and his son worked with our plumber and made the counters and walls look almost new. They worked hard and diligently making sure we were satisfied and reworked any spots they were not happy with also. The surface looks great and there are no stains around the new fixtures. My wife and I could not be more pleased. I highly recommend New Surface Technology.

Our bathtub had some deep scratches that had rusted over time and we needed the tub to be resurfaced.
VERY prompt response when called to schedule. Explained everything in great detail over the phone, answered all my
questions. Followed up immediately with a detailed invoice via e-mail and text confirmation of scheduled date of work and specific time they would be there and how long it would take.
Date of work, called as they finished one job, to let me know they would be on their way. (not late, just letting me know)
Very friendly, yet professional. Felt very comfortable with them in our home. Highly recommend. Took less time than
they estimated. Tub looks great! Thank You!

Charles called the day before to give me a specific time and arrived this morning at that exact time. He was professional and polite and got the work done quickly and without any problems. After he finished, the clean up was thorough and nothing was left behind. The tub looks great and I am very pleased. It will have to continue drying for two more days before I can use it. I would definitely use New Surface Technology again.
I liked everything. The guy was really good. He said he would completely redo anything that I was not satisfied with. He told me that if any chips developed in it in the next 5 years, he would come out at no charge and do a touch up. He was really good. He provided excellent service. I need a couple of little spots touched up before I sell the house because I've had some other work done. His price was in the range of where most of the others were. He did a real good job on the quality. He answered my calls or returned them right away. He was on time and if he said he would be there at 1, he was.

My overall rating above is a 'B', but only because the scale does not have minuses or pluses. The rating I would give New Surface Technology, is a B- or maybe even a C+.
After he left I inspected the tub and bathroom more closely. There were a few areas where the paint had run, just as Charles had said there might be. The tub's finish had an 'orange peel' texture and dull shine on most of it. But about a forth of it did have a smooth shiny, glossy look that I thought it should have after being refinished. The floor had several small drops of paint on it and the floor, sink (that was a couple of feet away from the tub) and a vanity had white overspray (mist) on them from spraying on the paint. I had to clean this up before it dried completely. Maybe Charles would have done this, but it was getting late and I know he was tired. I'm not sure about that. But I was tired too and I thought he should have covered more of the surrounding area before spraying the paint. So, I think he should have been more careful.
The other thing is, he said it was taking a long time for the primer and paint to dry. I think he didn't let it dry long enough, was rushing, because of the amount of time it was taking. So, the end result was not a smooth, glossy, shiny new looking tub, as it was described that it would be. It does look better, just not as good as I hoped or that New Surface Technology described it would look.
I called Charles back the next day and informed him of the drips. We scheduled a time for him to come back at 3:00 a few days later. On that day I waited until 3:30, and he had not shown up. I called and he had got held over on another job and lost track of the time. It was going to take him two hours to get there, so we rescheduled. When he came back I pointed out the areas wher the paint had run and the 'orange peel' texture of the paint. He worked on this for about an hour or so and left. When he left I inspected the tub and there were some new drips in the paint. I called him later and we scheduled another time for him to come out.
When he came out for the third time, I pointed out the new drips and one of the old ones that he didn't sand out completely. He said he could make this right. I mentioned the texture on most of the tub, that it was kind of rough and slighly bumpy (orange peel) and he said he didn't think he could do anything about that. He fix the drips mostly, although you can still see some because they were not sanded out completely, but they are not too bad.
So, my overall opinion is, that New Surface Technology does an ok job for the price, as long a you don't expect it to look like new. Basically, my tub looks ok, better than it was, but it deffinately looks like someone refinished it, not like new tub.
We have a mid-century home and our porcelin kitchen sink had developed about a 4" hole beneath and to the side of the faucet deck plate, and the sink had a "gouge" where the porcelin had chipped away. The hole beneath the faucet was all the way through the porcelin and the cast iron and went through to the cabinet below. Mr. Russo repaired the hole, filled in the gouge and applied several coats of white porcelin-like material to the whole sink and the attached drainboard, then sealed it. We had to wait 2 days before using the sink and Mr. Russo returned at that time and sanded the sink and applied another coat of the sealer. He re-installed the faucet and soap dispenser for us, which was not his responsibility, but he did it just to help us. Now our sink looks like new at a fraction of the cost of replacing it. Mr. Russo was prompt, professional and did not leave until we were completely satisfied. We highly recommend his services.
Wow!! Charles Russo was absolutely outstanding. He was professional, friendly, diligent, and extremely neat. He carefully explained the process involved in refinishing our bathtub as well as proper care to help mraintain it. Mr. Russo provided a 5 year no-fuss warranty and promised to return to make any corrections or repairs should they appear. Mr. Russo was a true joy to do buisness with and I would recommend his company to anyone interested in having their bathroom refinished.
We called Mr. Russo with New Surface Technologies and he was prompt and provided everything I would wish from anyone performing a service for you. He did high quality work on our tub, shower stall, tiled floor and tiled wall in the bathroom. Couldn't be happier with the way it looks. Done in a timely manor at a reasonable cost and offered a great warranty. Told us if anything did not meet our expectations he would be happy to come back and make it right.
