Nice Yard

It went very well. They got right to the task and had it completed in about three hours.

It is hard to express, I got so much more than I could imagine, their designer made my project beautiful and magic.

We had great experience dealing with Jesus Sierra and team. Jesse in particular is quite knowledgeable in terms of backyard paver designs and implementation. He provided us with multiple design options that met our requirements. It did help us to decide final design for our backyard. He is quite professional and willing to listen to your ideas while highlighting positives and negatives with your proposal. End of the day he was willing to work with us to implement paver designs in a way we envisioned. Overall we are quite happy with their work. I will recommend them to my friends and family.

Had to harangue contractor to even come out and do job, then to finish job, then to return an overpayment (which they still haven’t done!). Will not return calls, and when they do pick up they promise to “send a check” or “put it under the doormat” or “have Jesse call back”. No resolution. Very close to suing the contractor to get overpayment back. Will not hire again.

Crew failed to show on the promised day but did show up the next day. Work was fast and of good quality. However after they left (and before I paid the balance owed) I noticed a problem with the gate. When Jessie came to collect balance, I showed him the problem with the latch and the sag that was preventing the gate from opening. He said he'd send his crew back and they would fix it. So, I paid him. That was three weeks ago and I haven't heard from him. Finally, my brother-in-law came and fixed the sag. The latch is still a problem. The new owner will have to deal with Nice Yard now. The moral is- don't pay unless completely satisfied.

They did a very nice job on the fence, and cleaned up well.  Our only concern was the communication.  They showed up on the day specified, but we had called to confirm and did not receive a return phone call from the office until two days later.  There were a couple of other missed communications as well, but overall we are very happy with the price and the work.

There were quite a few hiccups along the way with this job. They came out to install a new fence with two gates. However there were four fence boards left on the ground after the job was finished and several boards were not nailed into the fence. I was also told that the cedar boards were of high quality but many of the boards had loose knot holes and the gates did not have the handles. They did come back out with another person who replaced the boards and inspected the remainder of the job. The gate handles however took eight weeks and when I get them, the handles were plastic and not the ones that I wanted. I just went with it so I wouldn’t need to wait any longer. Jesse, the owner, was very knowledgeable and representative of his company however his employees were less representative.

We had leakings and Nice Yard fixed it, but it only lasted for a couple of weeks. And when I called them to come back out to fix it they never responded.

The project took several days as they had to strip and level the yard. They ordered sod, soil and additives from several suppliers. All arrived as scheduled. I am very satisfied with the project from initial advise from Jesus during the bid process through completion. While Jesus didn't actually do the work he inspected the work of his employees several times each day. He was very hands on.

They gave me an estimate and then sent a very young fellow who was basically ineffective. The machine broke the next day. Three days later, a man who spoke very little english came by, and then drove off after I said that I didn't want to talk to his boss. He then said that his boss was coming there, and I went inside to get a drink of water. When I came back out, he was gone. I called the company, and the woman who answered the phone was also difficult to understand, and it appeared that they had all my information incorrect.
